After Alex Morris—the scholarship kid sponsored by Dad—got roofied at tonight's party, and I willingly offered myself to him.
Because I'd been crazy about him for ten years. Ready to give him everything.
But his childhood sweetheart Chloe Kane caught us in bed. She freaked out, ran into the street, and got hit by a car. She died instantly.
Alex held me close, whispering, "It's not your fault, Evelyn." and even proposed to me.
That's when Dad finally decided to hand over the company to him.
But the day before our wedding, Alex had Dad killed. Made it look like a car accident.
While I was drowning in grief, barely able to breathe, Alex drove me up to the mountains.
That's where he ran me over. Again and again, just to make me feel the pain Chloe endured before she died.
"If you hadn't drugged me, I never would've touched you! Chloe would still be alive! I hate you! You all deserve to die!"
The pain was hell. Then everything went black.
When I wake up again, I was rebirth on the night Alex got drugged.
But this time around? I'm not playing the same stupid game!

Alex tugged at his shirt collar, sweat beading along his collarbone.
He kept mumbling my name while staring at me with this crazy intense look.
"You actually fucking drugged me?" Alex snarled.
"Get out!"
"Evelyn, don't go... I feel like shit..."
I stopped for a beat, then walked out anyway.
Same shit as last life. He was all over me when it happened, but after Chloe died? Suddenly it was all my fault.
I leaned against the door, listening to his heavy breathing, waiting for Chloe to show.
Right on cue, here she came.
She froze when she saw me, then got that suspicious look.
"What's the hell? You already go in there?"
I shook my head.
"Alex is waiting for you."
She eyed me up and down.
"Standing guard, huh? Scared someone's gonna cockblock you? Everyone at the company knows you're obsessed with Alex. Hell, you literally banned female secretaries."
Direct hit. My chest ached.
Yeah, I was obsessed. Everyone knew it. Even Dad told me to stop being so stubborn about it.
Last time I actually thought Alex was clueless. Like he could just enjoy all my attention guilt-free.
"I'm done with him. Just go in."
She clearly didn't buy it.
But when she saw Alex through the doorway, her eyes lit up.
"You better be."
She shot me a warning look and rushed in.
As I closed the door behind them, I heard Alex's deep, satisfied groan.
I couldn't help picturing it.
Alex would kiss her everywhere, whisper that she was his first, swear he'd never leave her.
No, he'd probably be even gentler with Chloe. More devoted.
My nails dug into the doorframe. Wood splinters, but I didn't even notice.
They finally got their fairy tale ending.
Maybe this was better. At least Dad wouldn't pay for my mistakes.
I couldn't listen anymore. Ran to my room and called Dad with shaky hands.
Seven hours ahead, but Dad always picked up for me.
"Evie?" His voice was groggy.
The second I heard him, I lost it. Hand over my mouth, tears streaming.
"Dad, I miss you so much..."
When Dad died last time, was he still hoping to walk me down the aisle?
It was all my fault.
"Silly girl, you wanted to stay there with Alex, remember? Now you miss your old man?"
"But I want to be with you right now."
Dad's voice snapped to attention immediately.
"Okay, sweetheart. I'll call our lawyer, get your visa sorted."
