A Cinderella story - Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Ryders heart clenched as he heard her cries. He placed his hand on her thigh and sped to the nearest empty carpark and stopped the car
"Baby" he whispered
"I haven't done anything to them" she whispered wiping her eyes but it was barely a few seconds before more were in its place
"I know" he pulled back his chair and picked her up before placing her on his lap. She buried her head in his shoulder as her body shook with sobs
"It's okay, it'll all be okay" his hands ran up and down her back in an attempt to calm her down
"I knew they didn't like me but I didn't think they would go this far" she pulled away and sniffled as she looked to ryder
"They have no reason to. They're jealous. Because you're an amazing person anita. And you don't deserve none of this"
"Thank you" she said quietly and he nodded pushing her hair behind her ear
"I wasn't lying" they both just sat there, Anita's sniffles filling the silence every few seconds and over 5 minutes later ryder spoke up again
"Come on, I'll give you a ride home"
"I thought I was coming over to yours for dinner?"
"You don't have to. My mom wouldn't mind if you don't want to come over today and I don't want to make you uncomfortable after everything"
"I want to" she replied lacing her hands with his
"You do? Still?"
"Yes. You're moms really nice and I want to get to know her more, what happened isn't going to change that" she leant forward and pressed her lips to Ryders in a short but sweet kiss
"But I do want to change because I don't think this is the right thing to wear"
"It's not? It looks fine to me"
"It's alright but not something for dinner, do you want to help me choose what to wear?"
"You want my outfit advice?"
"Sure. Besides you're helping, not actually choosing"
"You know what I think? I think you just want me around"
"Maybe" she shrugged softly and ryder smiled
"Good. Cause I want you around just as much"

"That one" ryder said pointing to one of the two dresses in Anita's hand but she scrunched her face up at it
"What was the point in asking me if you weren't going to go with the one I said?" He teased
"I don't like either" she muttered turning back to her wardrobe. Ryder got up from sitting on Anita's bed and walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her body
Anita let off a deep breath and leaned into Ryders embrace feeling her anxiety calm down a little. She was still worried about a first impression but ryder was very reassuring
"You'll look beautiful in anything. You always do" ryder glanced into her wardrobe keeping her in his arms when his eyes caught onto something
"This" he said taking it out and holding it up to her
"You'll look amazing in it" anita took it in her hands and she contemplated it for a moment. The dress was beautiful
"Okay"

Ryders hand was laced with Anita's as they both made their way up to his house. It was ginourmous and Ayla wondered how constricted he must feel when he goes into her small house
"Don't be nervous" he muttered turning to her and putting his lips on hers for a sweet kiss before pulling away
"They've met you before. They already like you" anita nodded and ryder put his key inside the door and opened it
"I'm home!" He called out stepping inside with Anita and shutting the door behind himself and it wasn't a few seconds until Ryders mom walked over
"Oh my gosh, it's so good to see you again" embracing Anita in a tight hug, she smiled pulling away and turning to her son doing the same
"Dinners not gonna be ready for a while so you two can go upstairs while you wait?" Ryder nodded liking the idea so he kissed his moms cheek and took Anita's hand, guiding her upstairs

"So this is your room" anita said once they got up there
"Its nice" she looked around a bit more and let off a little giggle when she spotted something on a shelf
"Awe look" she cooed. She walked over to one of the shelves and picked up a stuffed bear
"That's so cute" ryder grabbed the stuffed guy and put it back on the shelf before turning back to anita
"He's - i had him when i was younger. Its duke" Anita nodded pretending she believed him
"Sure"
"I did!" She laughed and he tilted his head down before kissing her. Her hands moved up to his chest whilst his went to either side of her face but after a few seconds she pulled away
"Do you feel that?"
"What?" Ryder asked confused
"I feel like someones watching us" anita turned her head to ryders toy. She turned back to ryder who was looking at her with a dumbfounded look and she just couldn't help the laughs that erupted from her
Ryder just watched her as she laughed, his own smile plastered on his face. She thought she was utterly hilarious, and he thought she was utterly amazing
When she calmed down enough to think clearly she stood on her tip toes and pressed her lips onto ryders
"Dinner!" They heard a shout and anita reluctantly moved away from him

"So anita, what are you planning to do after high schools finished?"
"I have an audition for Manhattan academy of performing arts in a week. So I'm hoping that goes well"
"Thats the school ryder applied to" Eveline commented
Ryder: "It was a complete coincidence but we both got an audition"
"That's amazing"
"But if that doesnt work out I'll probably do something with music behind the scenes. Like producing or something"
"Well that's not gonna happen. Because your an amazing singer. You guys should've seen her singing at the the ball. She was amazing and everyone loved her" Anita glanced over at Ryder boasting about her to his parents, a large smile on her face
"We'd love to hear you sing sometime" kai said
"She's singing with me at the competition. So you'll see her sing then"
"So you're not competing?" Evelina questioned and she shook her head in reply
"Competing isn't really my thing right now. But maybe some other time when the opportunity presents itself"
Eveline: "So Anita, how's your stepmother doing?"
"Hm.. that prism is a... unique one? Isn't she?" Kai added with a look of distaste on his face. Anita let out a little bubble of laughter at their reactions
"I don't really speak with her often but she seems to be doing fine. Same with my stepsisters"
The conversation continued passing on the subject and anita really liked it. She hadn't sat down for dinner with others for years now and Ryder's family made her feel right at home. It was such a refreshing feeling to feel like youre being wanted
THE NEXT SATURDAY NIGHT ANITA SAT IN HER BED READING BUT SHE GOT KINDA BORED. AND BY THAT SHE JUST MISSED RYDER. So she picked uo her phone and rung his numher
"Hello?" His voiced flowed through the device
"Hi" anita replied screwing her eyes shut. She had just realised how stupid she looked right now
"I-i nothing. I'll see you tomorrow" she went to hang up
"Wait" he called out and she stopped herself from pressing the end button
"What is it?" She was silent for a moment and he spoke again
"Anita, baby? You can say what you want. I won't judge"
"I was just wondering if you wanted to come over" she whispered waiting for his reply
"I'll be there in 15"

When ryder knocked on her door anita walked over and smiled seeing him standing there in pyjamas before bringing him into a kiss. Her eyes fluttered shut as he moved closer to her and his hand that held her head tugged her hair softly and she let out a soft whine at the feeling. This only spurred him on and soon enough Ryder's tongue was seeking entrance to her mouth. She parted her plush lips and tentatively let his tongue stray into her mouth. She sighed at the feeling and pushed up on her toes. The need for air became evident and so she pulled away slowly letting her lips part from his
"I missed you" Ryder smiled and picked her up so her legs were wrapped around his waist
"I missed you too baby" he walked them both over to her bed and laid them both down. She was cuddled into his side and one of his arms was over her
"You was reading?" He questioned and she nodded. He picked up the book and scanned the pages
"Can you read to me?" Anita whispered and he nodded
"I'm not that good at reading"
"Stop it" she frowned slapping his chest lightly
"I'm sure you're great" he softly cleared his throat and started to read from the page Anita left on and as he did her smile slowly faded as she started to fall asleep and eventually Ryder caught onto her silence
He looked down at her and brushed some hair from her face just to see her asleep. He chuckled softly and went to get up but instead was met with her arms tightening around him
"Stay" she whispered her eyes opening to look up to him
"Stay with me tonight" he couldn't go agaisnt her wishes and laid back down on the bed, his arms back around her

THAT MORNING ANITA WOKE UP TO RYDERS FACE ONLY inches from hers. His eyes were already open and was staring at her so she couldnt help but become flustered under his gaze
"You're beautiful" she groaned placing her hands on her reddening cheeks
"Stop it" He let out a chuckle and grabbed her arms, moving them away from her face
"You are" he hummed. Her eyes looked up to meet his and she couldnt help but lean in. his lips collided with Anita's passionately. His free hand circled completely around her waist pulling her tightly against him. Anitas other hand raised to run down his chest. He whined a bit at the feeling and she sighed at the noise. He took the chance and let his tongue wander her mouth. Massaging hers and feeling her relax against him. He pulled anita on top of him, letting go of her hand, his hand ran up her spine and trailed back down it. Her hand moved up to cradle his face
"Anita you better AHHH!" Anita and ryder broke apart at the scream and she jumped off m just to see cleo standing at the door her mouth agape
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH HIM? I'm telling mom!" Anita didn't get a chance fo reply as her stepsister ran out of the room and then the house before she ran back to her place
"Oh my gosh" anita whispered. Ryder got up off the bed and placed his hand on anitas shoulder
"Baby"
"I'm so dead. Im so dead" she repeated. He pressed his lips to the top of her head and stood in front of her so she was looking into his eyes
"Whatever it is, whatever she says. Well get through it together. Okay?" She slowly nodded hoping it wasnt as bad as she thought
"Good. Do you want me to stay or you wanna call me later?"
"I'll call you later" she said quietly
"I don't know how long it will take" he leaned down and left a sweet kiss on her lips before walking out of the room
Whilst anita processed everything that happened in the last 5 minutes she started to get ready for her day
