We stayed hugging each other for some time. There are no words to explain how comfort it was.
Do you have a big brother? What do you think of the way they love their little sisters? I have heard and read about big brother’s love and care. In my whole life, I have desired to get that kind of affection from my brother, and now I am getting it to the fullest. Who thought I would be this lucky in my entire life? I always find comfort and relaxation when I am with Samuel or Luke. But when I am with Nathan, it is a totally different feeling that is so hard to explain. Suddenly Nathan’s phone started to vibrate.
Without breaking the hug, he took the phone out of his pocket.
“It is Samuel…” he then said breaking the hug and answering the phone.
God! Samuel must be really worried. With all these things happening, I completely forgot to call him.
“Hello…” Nathan answered.
“Yes, she is here… Wait…”
Nathan gave me his phone.
“Hello…” I said apologetically. Samuel asked me to call him as soon as Mr. Patterson left, but I completely forgot that.
“You okay, right?” that was the first thing he asked. I felt really sad about him. His voice clearly said how concerned he is.
“Yes, Samuel… I am okay…”
“What the hell happened to your phone? I tried to call and text you. First, it worked, but you didn’t answer, and then it was switched off. Can you even imagine how scared am I?” he started to yell at me.
I took my phone out of the pocket, thinking about how I didn’t hear his calls. The phone was switched off, I think the battery is dead. With all the work I had to do today, I couldn’t even recharge the phone.
“I know, Samuel… I am so sorry… My phone is dead.” I said sadly.
“I called Nathan as well, even he didn’t answer until now,” Samuel growled.
We were in such a tense discussion. So he might not notice the calls.
“Don’t worry, Samuel. I am safe… Please don’t be angry.” I said apologetically.
“Angry? Do you think I am angry at you, Natalie? I am not angry, I am so damn worried, can’t you see?” he asked.
“I and Luke are in front of your house right now, can you understand how worried am I?” he added.
“What you two are here?” looking at Nathan, I ran to the front window.
Nathan followed me to the window.
We both looked outside at the same time. A black car was parked right in front of our gate. Nathan looked at me confusedly.
“Is that you in the black car?” I asked.
“Yes…”
“It is Luke and Samuel,” I said to Nathan.
He shook his head with the same confused look.
“When did you two come here?” I asked Samuel with surprise.
“I couldn’t make up my mind to just stay at home when that bastard is at your place. I thought what if Nathan has to leave home for something and you have to stay alone with him. So we came here even before Andrew come to your place and parked near your house. We even rented a car because he knows both our cars.”
“So you were here all the time.”
“Yes… He left a long time ago… I was trying to contact you since then, what happened?” Samuel asked worriedly.
“I don’t know, Samuel…” I replied confusedly. Actually, I didn’t even know how to explain everything to him. I didn’t know where to start.
“What you mean by don’t know… You are making me more worried,” he said nervously.
“I don’t know how to explain everything…” I said.
“Natalie… You are driving me really crazy. Please tell me what happened.” this time he was literally screaming.
“Wait… Since you are here, I will come to your vehicle and explain everything. ” I said, looking at Nathan for his approval.
He nodded his head in agreement.
“That’s good. Come soon…” Samuel replied.
I walked to the black car parked outside our gate. Nathan came behind me and wait until I got into the car. Then he went back inside.
Luke was in the driving seat and Samuel was in the back seat.
With the faint light from the nearby lamppost, I could see Samuel’s face. He looked exhausted and super worried. His handsome face was covered with stress. I couldn’t bare seen him like this because I knew all this stress and tiredness are just because of me… Because he loves and cares about me…
As soon as I closed the door, I leaned towards him and hugged him. His familiar scent made me need to hug his broad chest for the rest of my life… He is my love and this is my safe place…
Without even knowing, I was crying…
“Princess…” he said worriedly, caressing my head.
“Please tell me what happened, princess… You know how your tears made me feel, so please don’t cry and tell me what happened,” he said in a pleading voice.
However, it took me a few minutes to stop crying and talk.
“Andrew brought a good offer for Nathan. He got RB’s manager agreed to offer Nathan an opportunity to join them. Also, he said he will give an internship for Nathan in his dad’s company, and they will sponsor Nathan’s football training. ” I explained.
“Wow! That’s a pretty good offer.” Luke said. This was the first time he talked since I got into the car.
“It is true. So what Nathan said?” Samuel asked.
“What else? He agreed, didn’t he?” Luke asked.
“You have an incorrect image of my brother, Luke…” I said sadly. I love Luke a hell lot, but I was in a state where I couldn’t stand anyone talking bad about my brother.
“He strongly rejected the offer. ” I added.
“So what happened after that?” Samuel asked.
“You know how our parents are. Especially our mom. She created a drama as usual. However, Andrew brought another offer as well. ” I said, looking at Samuel’s face.
I couldn’t read his emotions completely as the light was not strong enough, but I clearly observed how his face filled with impatience…
I didn’t really know how to break the news to Samuel. I couldn’t even imagine how angry he would get… But I have to tell him everything. They both were in total silent, letting me speak…
“He brought a marriage proposal to me…” after a few seconds, I managed to say.
“What?” they both said in unison…
“What did you just say?” Samuel screamed in rage, holding me from my shoulders and shaking me. He was burning with anger, I could easily say that with the way he was holding and shaking me.
“He brought you what?” he screamed again.
“He brought me a marriage proposal,” I said, trying to be calm.
“I am going to kill that bastard!!! I will surely kill him!!!” Samuel screamed. He was still holding me from my shoulders, and his whole body was shaking.
I tried to lift my hand and touch his face…
But he shook his head and pulled himself away from me… He then started to punch the metal frame of the car door aggressively.
“Samuel… Please stop… You are going to hurt yourself…” I tried to stop him, but he was out of control… There is no doubt his knuckles are already bleeding.
“Samuel… Calm down… We can’t do anything getting angry like this…” Luke said, trying to stop Samuel…
“How can I be calm right now, Luke? How can I? I took everything he has done to me so far. I didn’t do anything when he accused us of his girlfriend’s death. I didn’t do anything when he publicly disgraced my family. I endured it when he didn’t even let us see my aunt in her last few minutes. I stood every single evil thing he did to me and my family. But this time he crossed the limit… “
“He knows exactly that Natalie is my girlfriend. Yet, he was dared to come to her house and bring her a marriage proposal. He is using this innocent girl to take revenge from me for something I have never done. This time I am not going to spare him. The more I endure things the more he tries to hurt me. “
I didn’t know what to say. So, I just took his hand from both of my hands and pressed it to my chest… With the faint light, I saw how his knuckles got all reddish and bleeding. That must be really painful, but there is no doubt that the pain in his heart is much greater.
“Everything you said is right. But Samuel, we can’t solve problems like this. We have to handle this issue very carefully because it involves Natalie and her family as well..” Luke said.
“He knows very well that when he drags Natalie’s family to the matter things get extremely serious, and I have a huge disadvantage because I can’t go and talk to her parents like he did. So he gave an amazing offer to her brother to impress her parents and get what he wants.” Samuel said. He was talking like he talks just to himself.
“Did he tell it to your parents in front of you?” Luke asked.
“No… He discussed that privately with my parents. I and Nathan got to know about it only after he left our house.”
“Your parents would love the offer, right? He is handsome, rich, from a high-class family, got a good job, and also he offered to help Nathan.” Samuel asked. His voice was filled with frustration.
“Actually, they are trying to connect this with something else and make me accept this offer,” I said.
“Connect with something else… What is that?”
I explained to them everything both dad and Nathan told me about my childhood. None of them uttered even a word until I finish. Samuel just put his arm around my shoulder and made me cuddled to him. He was caressing my head gently for the whole time I was speaking.
“Dad indirectly said that I am in debt to them for what they have done for me, so I have to accept this offer,” I said, finishing my explanation.
“That is ridiculous,” Luke yelled.
“What you think about it, princess… Do you think you have to accept this offer because you are in debt to your family?” Samuel asked calmly.
“Honestly, I don’t know, Samuel. I feel so sorry for my parents. They went through a hell lot just because of me and I think they deserve a relaxed, peaceful life at least now…”
“So are you going to accept this?” Samuel asked interrupting me. His voice was shaking.
“Let me finish…” I said.
“Even though I am truly grateful to my parents, I don’t want to marry that bastard for any reason,” I added.
Samuel released a sigh…
“Princess… I am grateful to your parent too… If they didn’t sacrifice so much for you, I won’t be able to hold you like this in my arms today. But they can’t use that as a reason to force you to marry someone you don’t like. That is truly unfair.” Samuel said.
“That is exactly what Nathan also said,” I said.
“Did he tell something like that?” Luke asked.
Luke is one of the most understanding and open thinking person I ever know. I don’t know why he always thinks about my brother in the wrong way.
“He did tell like that, Luke. That’s why I said you have the wrong image of my brother.” I said.
“So what are we gonna do now?” Samuel asked.
“I am going to tell my parents that I will never marry that bastard. Nathan will be there backing me.” I said.
Samuel placed a kiss on my forehead.
“You know I love more and more this new confident Natalie… And I am truly happy for her strong relationship with her twin…” he then said with a smile.
“But do you think, Natalie’s parents would just accept it,” Luke asked.
“Definitely no… I can’t even imagine what kind of drama my mom would create.” I replied.
“As you said your parents deserve a break now, princess… They deserve a relaxed, comfortable life and I am capable of giving them that. I don’t need my family’s support for that. I can do it on my own. I just need some more time, that’s all…” Samuel said.
“I know that, Samuel… ” I replied.
“I can come to your house, princess, and tell your parents how much I love you. I can beg them not to force you to marry anyone else. I can guarantee them a happy life they deserve. I can come tomorrow and talk with your parents. ” Samuel said.
“Are you crazy? That will ruin everything.” Luke yelled.
“I can’t let them force you for anything, my princess… I can’t let them hurt you.” Samuel said, holing my face between his hands and kissing my cheeks.
“I know, babe… I know you would do anything for me. But as Luke said, that will ruin everything we did. My mom can never keep a secret. She will go everywhere telling people Victor Davis’s son is going to marry me. The election is around the corner. We have to wait just a little bit longer. Don’t worry, I can manage it until that. They have hurt me since I can remember, Samuel… So that is not a new thing for me…” I said, smiling.
“But anytime you feel you can’t hold this any longer just tell me. I will come and talk to your parents. You are important to me more than anything else.” Samuel said, and then he captured my lips for a quick but sensational kiss…
