“What?” I said involuntarily.
I couldn’t even believe what I heard… How could I believe it when I exactly knew the relationships he had with girls… How a person can change his preference that instantly. For my whole life, I had no interest in girls. No matter how hard I tried to have a relationship with a girl, all those efforts went in vain… But he certainly had a girlfriend even a few months back…
“Hard to even believe, right?” he asked with a smile on his lips.
I didn’t say anything, I just stared at him with a startled look.
“I know what you are thinking, Luke… You think how a person can change his sexuality this quickly, don’t you?” he asked.
“Well… To be honest… Yes…” I said.
“Even I am not sure about that either, Luke… I am still confounded. Maybe I am not fully gay, I am bi… ” he said.

“You disgust me?” he asked sadly.
“What? For being gay? Never… That is not something to disgust a person, Nathan…Everyone has their own preferences. I don’t give a sh*t about a person’s private preferences until they behave like human beings, Nathan… But a person’s immoral behavior indeed makes me disgust about him… ” I said, looking carefully at his face.
Just as I thought his face changed… His face got clouded with sadness and pain… I think he understood what I was about to say.
“I don’t care about all the other things you did, including sleeping with every girl you wanted, taking drugs, and getting into fights. I disgust you for treating your sister badly, Nathan…” I said.
Without saying anything, he looked away from me… His gaze was blankly focussed on the white wall.
“I know what I did was cruel…” he said after a long stillness…
“But I am ready to change, Luke… I want to change everything… I want to be a different man.” he then said.
Well… I have already sensed that he is changing in a good direction. But hearing it from his own words made it different…
“You are the only one who knows the truth about me, other than Natalie…” he then said, making me even shocked.
I never thought he would share this kind of secret with Natalie… When these two got that close?
On the other hand, Glenn and Bob are his best friends, right? So why he thought of sharing it with me before he shares it with them?
“I have no intention of sharing this with anyone else… I truly hope you would help me make this change in my life,” he said, looking right into my eyes. Like he was trying to read my thoughts from my eyes…
He was so close to me… I could even feel the warmth of his breath… When did he get this close to me? I didn’t even notice…
I didn’t want to at least be in his gang because I truly disgust him… But at that moment, after everything he shared with me, his closeness didn’t make me feel disgusted… Instead, it made me feel something strange… A feeling that I couldn’t explain…
I felt it was difficult to look into his eyes anymore… It was like I was afraid that he would find out all my secrets looking into my eyes.
“Yes, I would help you, Nathan…” I said in a hurry and stood up from where I was sitting.

Andrew Patterson’s POV
I woke up with a severe headache… My head was so close to exploding.
I was in my room and on my bed. But I didn’t remember how I came here. The last thing I could remember was having dinner and a drink with Luke and Nathan. What really happened after that? I tried to think, but it just made my headache worst.
Where the hell is my phone? I usually keep it on my bedside cupboard, but it was not there.
I got up from the bed, searching for my phone.
It was on my reading table…
I didn’t feel strong enough to even stand up. Pulling out a chair, I sat and took a call to Luke.
“Good morning, Mr. Patterson…” Luke’s voice raised from the other side.
“Luke, how the hell I ended up in my home last night?” I asked without bothering to greet him.
“We took you home last night, Mr. Patterson… You got pretty drunk, can’t you remember?” he chuckled.
“What, I got drunk? That is impossible. I know my limits.” I snarled.
“We tried to stop you from getting drunk. But you were quite upset about something,” he said.
Yes, of course… I was upset thinking about my little angel… But I couldn’t believe I got drunk until I don’t remember anything. That is not my nature.
“Are you feeling alright now, Mr. Patterson?” he asked, breaking my thoughts.
“Yeah… I am okay… Thank you for taking me home.” without even waiting for him to reply, I cut the call.
I have to find out how I got that much drunk last night, but that is for later. Now I have to check Natalie… God knows what happened yesterday.
I dialed her number… Thank God her phone is working.
But she didn’t answer… I tried calling her again and again. But no answer…
I couldn’t understand what should I do now… I feel like throwing up too…
I ran to the bathroom and threw up… All my internal organs were like trying to come out… I haven’t felt this sick for a long time now…

I took a wash and changed clothing. Then prepared some sandwiches.
I tried calling Natalie a few more times while I was eating, but she didn’t answer.

At least now I know she is safe at her home. But that’s not enough. I must know what has happened to her. I must talk to her. I can’t wait till she comes to university as well…
After having breakfast, I felt strong enough to go out.
I drove to her house and rang the bell…

“Mr. Patterson…” Nathan looked surprised.
“Nathan… I want to see Natalie…” I said.
“Okay… Come in, Mr. Patterson… Take a seat. I will ask her to come.” he said, pointing me the sofa.
I walked in and took a seat. This is the first time I came to her house… My future wife’s house… It is a small but clean house. I wonder how much memories she has in this tiny house. I am sure most of those memories are not sweet memories… I know that she suffered a lot inside these walls, but it won’t be like that in the future… I am going to give her all the happiness and luxuries in this world.
After a few minutes, she came down with Nathan…
She looked shocked to see me at her house… But her face was glowing with happiness… I haven’t seen her look this happy for a long time… It is not the usual glow you can see on a girl’s face, it is different… I have seen this glow on my little Lilly’s face too…
