Rylie, being the sweet angel she is, offers to go pick up the puppies in the morning so I can sleep in a little bit longer. She returns within the hour, a box tucked under her arm as she quietly enters the bedroom.
"Merry Christmas." She grins, softly shutting the door behind her. I take a quick second to just look at her in the adorable Christmas sweater and jeans that fit just right, drawing my eyes to all the right places.
"Merry Christmas, my love." I smile, stretching as I sit up. "I'm sorry I didn't go with you."
"It's more than okay, baby. You were kind of out of it when I was talking to you." Rylie giggles.
I groan, covering my face with my hands. "I swear I thought I was more awake at the time, but I don't remember much of what you said so there's a good chance I was sleep talking."
"I figured," Rylie laughs, setting the box down at the end of the bed. "But it really is okay. I know I wore you out last night." She smirks.
"I'm not even going to try denying that. You knew what you were doing with your hands and tongue, I'll say that much."
"Mmm.." Rylie leans down to kiss me. "And you made sure that I knew how much you enjoyed it." Her words bring a blush to my cheeks.
"That's something that will never change. Even if there are times where we need to be quiet."
"Don't get me started on that." Rylie groans, dropping onto the bed beside me. I take the opportunity to snuggle up against her. "It was insanely hot watching you come undone beneath me, your moans muffled against my hand."
"Fuck, Ry..." I murmur, the familiar feeling growing between my legs. "You're making me feel things we don't have time for."
"I can be quick..." Rylie whispers into my ear, her hand trailing slowly down my stomach towards the waistband of my sweats.
"Fuck," I say again, gasping as her fingers graze my bare stomach. I place one hand over hers and guide it the rest of the way down, moaning as her fingers meet my already swollen center.
"You're already so wet..." Rylie says in a low voice.
"I think that's becoming a permanent reaction my body has to you." I admit, struggling to keep my voice steady. "It constantly craves you."
"Good." Rylie smirks, moving her fingers slowly. "Because that's exactly how you make me feel."
I bit my lip as she moves, fighting the moans that threaten to escape. As she adds slightly more pressure, I can't stop the small whimper from slipping out.
"That's my girl." Rylie purrs in my ear, her words building the pressure. "You're close, aren't you?"
All I can do is nod, my breathing coming quickly.
"Good. I want you to come for me, baby."
"Okay," I gasp, struggling to speak past the building pleasure. It doesn't take long for me to reach my climax, and Rylie whispers words of encouragement as I come undone in her arms.
She smiles softly at me as I finish, gently brushing her thumb against my cheek. "You're perfect."
"Thank you," I blush, focusing on the love filling her eyes. "For this, too." I add with a laugh, gesturing to my hand still on hers beneath my waistband.
"You don't need to thank me for that, Aspen." Rylie giggles. "I enjoy it just as much as you do."
"I'll thank you as much as I want." I tease. "You deserve it with how good you make me feel."
"It's a win for both of us." Rylie kisses me lightly. "I'm also very impressed you didn't wake the puppies."
"I forgot about them!" I admit with a laugh as I scoot towards the box at the foot of the bed.
"They apparently forgot about us, too." Rylie grins. I peek inside the box, my smile growing as I take in the two fluffy puppies, the white of their fur blending together so well that it's hard to tell where one puppy ends and the other begins.
"They are so cute together! I hate that they're going to be separated." I say sadly.
"I know, baby. But they'll be okay. Sammy has Harvey," She gestures to the dog in question, still asleep at the foot of our bed. "And your mom will keep the other puppy company probably 24/7." Rylie smiles reassuringly.
I know she's right. My mom stays home the majority of the time, only going out to run errands or to go out with Jay. Since it's the busiest time of the year at the hospital forJay, he assured us that he and my mother wouldn't be going out much, therefore not leaving the puppy alone often. Plus, Rylie and I are planning to make a trip down here once a week or so so that the puppies can still see each other.
"I think your brothers are going to love the puppies. Your dad is bringing them for dinner, right?"
"Yep," Rylie smiles. "My mom and Dillon are going to his side for dinner, but Spencer is trying to convince them to let him bring Harper here."
"That would be so fun! I hope he can convince them."
"Spencer is the master of convincing anyone to do anything, especially our mom. That's how he was able to get us out of so much trouble when we were younger. So we can probably count on Harper being here, too."
"Sweet," I grin. "Then we can do some dress up with her and see how cute she is in all of the new outfits we got her."
"I like the way you think. Did you bring your camera?" Rylie asks.
"You know I take my camera everywhere." I grin.
"Perfect. I think it could be really cute to do a little photoshoot with Harper and the puppies."
"I hadn't even thought about that!" I reply excitedly. "I'm fairly certain I have the smartest and prettiest wife." Rylie's cheeks redden slightly and I grin before kissing her forehead. "I am incredibly lucky."
"That's crazy, because I'm pretty sure I have the smartest and prettiest wife. There's actually a very long list of reasons why my wife is better than anyone else's." Rylie says, trying to one up me. "Therefore, I am actually the lucky one." She finishes with a satisfied smile.
"Arguing with you while you're being so cute is impossible." I groan, wanting to prove to her that she is, in fact, the best wife.
"I'm always cute." Rylie smirks.
"Exactly. There's a reason I never argue with you." I giggle.
Before I can say anything else, a knock sounds at the door, and we hear my mother's voice faintly on the other side.
"Cover the box and then sit in front of it or something." I suggest with a giggle as I move towards the door. "Good morning!" I smile, opening the door to find my mother on the other side in some surprisingly bright Christmas pajamas.
"Merry Christmas!" She says excitedly, and I quickly put a finger to my lips. "Oh, sorry!" She lowers her voice. "Is Rylie still sleeping?"
"No, just Harvey. He didn't sleep well last night for some reason. He might've been nervous about being in a new place." I come up with the excuse quickly, proud that it's not really a lie.
"Poor baby! He sleeps here all the time, but I guess he's never slept in your room. I wonder if he's sick? Do we need to take him to the vet?"
Of course she's really buying my excuse. I chuckle to myself. "No, Rylie's been keeping an eye on him and says he's eating and drinking just fine, he's just a little bit sleepy." I assure my mother with a smile.
"It is so lucky that Rylie is a vet tech. Harvey has to be the healthiest puppy out there!"
"Yeah," I laugh. "She takes pretty good care of him."
"Well, maybe he needs some love from his grandma!" My mother suggests, craning her neck to try to see past me into the room. "Where is my little guy?"
"Uh," I shift slightly, trying to block her view discreetly. "He needs just a few minutes to wake up and then we can bring them down."
"Them?" My mother questions, drawing her eyebrows together.
Shit. "Yeah, Harvey and his stuffed giraffe. He's so obsessed with it lately, he refuses to go anywhere without it." I quickly lie, forcing a laugh. I cringe, forgetting my need to be quiet. A tiny whimper sounds behind me, almost too quiet to hear. Almost, but not quite.
"See, he's whining for me!" My mom exclaims, trying once more to nudge past me into the bedroom.
"Actually, that was me!" Rylie calls from behind me, laughing. "It was a puppy video on my phone. Wanna see?"
My saving grace, as always. She comes up beside me with her phone in her hand, showing a cute little puppy on the screen.
"Cute." My mother grins, not noticing the fact that there's no sound to the video. "Well, I can get breakfast started in a while, but we were thinking we could open some presents first."
"That sounds great!" We'll meet you downstairs in five minutes." I say with a tight smile, silently praying that the puppies don't make any more noise.
"Sounds good." My mom smiles before turning her back and heading downstairs. I shut our door quietly, letting out the breath I'd been holding.
"That was close." Rylie giggles.
"Yeah, my bad." I agree with a laugh. "You were quick with that video, though!"
"Thank you," Rylie grins. "I had it ready that whole time just in case one of the puppies decided to wake up."
"Like I said, I have the smartest wife."
"Don't forget prettiest, too." Rylie adds with a smirk.
"And prettiest. No one else compares."
"Thank you, love." Rylie smiles softly, kissing me once before moving back to the puppies. "Time to get these guys downstairs!"

"Merry Christmas." She grins, softly shutting the door behind her. I take a quick second to just look at her in the adorable Christmas sweater and jeans that fit just right, drawing my eyes to all the right places.
