"Yet another body was found at the edge of town. This has to be what, the third one?" The man on the radio announced early that Sunday morning.
Getting up from my bed that was placed in a corner of the room, I made my way to the bathroom. The house was surprisingly quiet. Usually, you would hear the hustle and bustle of my mother and sister but today it was just silence. Before I made it to the bathroom door I stopped in the middle of the hallway to see if I could hear something, but it was still quiet. Shrugging my shoulders I walked inside to do my hygienic duties. While brushing my teeth I hear a noise outside of the window so I decided to take a peek out and was disappointed in what I saw. It was Riley and his gang of misfits terrorizing poor Jacob across the street again.
"What are you going to do about it? Come on get up and fight like a man." Riley yelled at Jacob while towering over him. That statement was pretty ridiculous since there were four of them and one Jacob, so how exactly is that fair? Riley was a pretty big guy standing at exactly 6'0, with curly dirty blond hair that shagged a little over his eyes, pale skin, and green eyes. He had broad shoulders and always wore this long black trench coat that reached his ankles, a little bit above his leather boots.
Jacob, on the other hand, was on the opposite end of the spectrum. He stood around 5'9 and had mocha-colored skin. He wore big glasses over his eyes and a hairstyle of tight curls. His face was a soft round shape that fit him so very well. He always wore these oversized sweaters and baggy pants almost as if he's trying to hide something. He was pretty closed off and had no friends in this town, which is probably why he was targeted so much.
Disgusting
The children of this town are just as bad as their parents. They were a complete waste of air and only lived for themselves. This entire town is filled with mistakes from the adults to the infants yet I'm the accident? Ha, I think not. If anything I'm the only one that should be here and everyone else should be gone.
"Please, just leave me alone I did nothing to you." Jacob pled from the ground. His large glasses are a few spaces away from him. Cracked and broken in half. Poor kid. While looking at the glasses on the ground I didn't notice Jacob being pulled onto his feet and into Riley's face.
"Listen here you little cunt. No one here likes you, so why are you still here? Just do everyone a favor and leave this town monkey." Riley yelled in Jacobs' face while tightening his grip on his shirt. As if looking for an attempt to find help Jacob looked around the area looking for someone to help and he just does happen made eye contact with me. I looked at him and he looked at me, that lasted for about ten seconds until Riley noticed he wasn't paying attention to him as he ranted. "Who are you looking at Jakey-boy?" Riley asked while turning his head in my direction.
I and Riley look at each other as a crooked smile appears on his face while mine remains blank and uncaring. Looking little ways down I make eye contact with Jacob again and he silently mouths towards me.
'Help me.'
Help yourself.
"What are you doing to the kid Riley?" I say while leaning out the window more, my cover was blown.
"This little punk was supposed to finish my history essay that's due tomorrow." Riley punched Jacob in the stomach as he finished that sentence. Ooh that looked like it hurt
"Please I-I tried, b-b-but I couldn't finish. It was too much." Jacob was completely breathless while trying to finish his sentence since he was just punched in the stomach. Riley and his little goonies laughed in his face as if he said something funny.
"Come on guys. Leave the kid alone. Unless you want me to come down there." I perched my head upon my hands and gave them a slight smile. Riley looked at me then back at Jacob who was still shaking in his hold. After what seemed like hours Riley 'tsks' pushed Jacob down with more force than necessary.
"Don't think you're safe mutt. Titus can't always protect you." With one final glare, Riley walked away. Jacob quickly got up while also picking up his broken glasses. He turned around to fully face me, a small smile appearing on his face.
"Uh, thank y-"
Before he could even finish what he had to say I closed the window. I shouldn't have to deal with this bull crap so early In the morning. Before walking out of the bathroom I examined myself in the mirror. I stood at about 6'4 with a decent amount of muscle. Not the steroid amount of muscle that Riley possesses but the right amount that showed I did lift some weights. My shaggy brown hair stops at my shoulders, which I keep up in a bun most of the time. I had light freckles over my face which was a shade or two darker than my original skin tone. I was a bit tan but not overly so. So I was that tan kind of pasty if that even makes sense. I didn't exactly like how I looked sometimes but other people did and that has led me to bend many to my will. I mean people would do anything for someone with a nice face and great body which doesn't always end well for that person.
With a sigh, I ran my hands through my already messy hair. Then I have seen it. The faint color of the red liquid underneath my short fingernails and a bit on my forehead.
"Crap"
I'm getting careless. I quickly wash my hands making sure that I get under my nails and for good measures I hopped in the shower to make sure I'm all the way clean. As soon as I turn the knob to shut the shower off I hear the front door open signaling someone has just entered my domain.
"Titus? Honey its mom are you here?"
