Silently I followed him to wherever he was taking me. His head was down and he seemed a bit nervous, as he clutched his books to his chest. Pretty soon we arrived in an empty hallway and he stopped in front of me. If I wasn't paying attention I would have bumped right into him. Stepping back a little, I waited to hear what he had to say.
" So about the other day...." He turns around to be face to face only to take some steps back when he noticed we were close to each other. " I just wanted to thank you again for what you did that day for me. I really, really appreciate it."
The entire time he was talking I zoned out because, in all honesty, I didn't care to hear what he was talking about. I guess I must've been silent for too long because he cleared his throat. Looking down at him I saw a faint blush coating his dark cheeks. Putting a small smile on my face I leaned into his personal space. He immediately backed up until his back hit the lockers.
"Why are you running? " The smile on my face became wider as I noticed his breathing began to pick up. Pulling my hand up from my side I place it by his head on the lockers so he would be trapped.
"Um, Titus we should uh go to class. We're already late." His voice got to lower the closer I inched mine towards him. He was a weird thing. He was scared to approach other people because of how closed off he was yet he approached me because I helped him.
Interesting.
"Was that the only reason you pulled me to this empty hallway, to just apologize?" His breathing picked up a bit after I finished my sentence. He wouldn't make eye contact with me. For some reason that annoyed me to the core.
When I'm talking to you, you look me in the eyes. It's one of my biggest pet peeves.
Grabbing his chin I forcibly turned his head towards me and up. The action was quick and rough that his glasses almost fell from his face.
"I asked you a question."
"Yes?"
"You don't sound too sure of yourself. I need a proper answer Jacob and this is my LAST time asking." My grip on his chin didn't falter instead it got tighter and Jacob winced at the pain. His he still didn't answer me my grip tightened even more. That got him to open his mouth.
"Ow! You're hurting me! No okay. That wasn't the only reason I asked you to come here. So please let go." He was using both of his hands to try and force my hand away but he wasn't strong enough. I lifted up one eyebrow and tilted my head to the side while loosening my hand but still not letting go.
"Why am I here?"
"I just wanted a friend. I thought that maybe that because you helped me out that you might like me a bit and we could, I don't know, become close?"
See this is why I don't interfere with other people's problems. Once you help them they automatically think your friends and can talk to you when they want. But he looks like the perfect little minion to do my bidding. He looks so desperate when he confessed to me.
"A friend? You want a friend?" He nodded as best as he could while his face was still in my hand. Immediately I let go of his face and put a giant smile on my face. " So why didn't you say so? Of course, we can be friends."
Jacobs's hand went up to his face to try to rub away the pain but then looked smiled at me. "Really? Are you serious?" Nodding my head I backed away from him and scratched the back of my head.
"Yeah im serious and um sorry about grabbing your face like that it was uncalled for."
"Oh no, it's fine! I'm not mad plus it didn't even hurt." He stopped rubbing his face and smiled but even I could tell that it hurt him to do so. Reaching my hand out towards his face I gently caressed his cheek. He jumped a bit thinking that I was going to hurt him again. And brought almost brought a smile on my face, but I kept it in. He closed his eyes and leaned into my touch. He opened his eyes and looked at me and as soon as he opened his mouth to say something the bell rang dismissing everyone to go to their second period.
Pulling my hand away I smiled at him.
"See you around friend." He gave a small smile and a quick wave and ran off into the other direction to his classroom. Walking away I have the biggest grin on my face.
Oh this is going to be fun
