"Mom! Dad's being gross again!" Little Aguero screamed as Lilia peeked her head from the kitchen. There she sees her husband asleep on the couch. He was hugging a throw pillow while muttering incoherent words under his breath, something about Hon or whatever. It sounded like a fanfiction for another day. Aguero was glaring at his father with disgust as the drool on his face began to pool onto the throw pillow he was holding.
"When is he not?" she replied as she focused her attention back on the bowl she was mixing. "Aguero, stop wasting your time on your father and come help me with the chocolates," the woman ordered. The said boy happily complied as he pushed a stool onto the table next to her after washing his hands.
Khun Aguero Agnes was definitely a mommy's boy.
Lilia smiled as she watched Aguero carefully pour the melted chocolate into the heart-shaped molds. He was extremely meticulous about this particular batch, as it's for his best friend Bam. The rest were poorly made (on Aguero's part) which showed the mother and son duo's many attempts at making the treat. "Those can be for the Alligator and the others," the boy said like it was no big deal. After all, he didn't want the ingredients his mother got him to go to waste.
"Now be careful, sweetie," the woman warned as she watched her son pick up a batch of chocolate to transport to another table.
"I will-" but he was cut off as he forgot that he was standing on a stool. With a single step, his tiny body flew forward as his cobalt eyes widened at the solidified chocolates fly about the kitchen tile. He was so in shock that he didn't notice that his mother had caught him just in time before he can suffer the same faith as the poor sweets.
"I told you to be careful," Lilia lightly scolded as she brought the boy close to her chest, checking for any injuries.
"M-mom I--" Aguero was cut off as the woman hugged him.
"Don't worry about it, we can always make a new batch," Lilia offered a reassuring smile. "Let's throw this one away for now. The floor isn't very clean after all."
"No," Aguero stated firmly as he went to pick up the chocolates before putting them nicely on a plate. "These can be dad's batch."
Lilia tried to hold back a laugh before seeing that Aguero was dead serious. "... Sweetie I know that you hate your father, but no need to be like that--"
"He was flirting with Mrs. Grace at my school the other day," the boy exposed.
"Nevermind, let's give it to him. Shall we add rat poison too?" Lilia deadpanned as she reached for the cupboard under the sink.
"ACHOO!" Eduan sneezed as he woke up from his nap. "For some reason I have an impending feeling that someone is plotting to kill me.... nah, that's impossible! Everyone loves me!"
"And now we can add the white chocolate for decoration," Lilia smiled. She watched as her son lined the rims of the chocolate with his brows furrowed in concentration. She dared not make a peep, for she feared that the sudden noise might cause him to mess up. But in the end, the distraction came from elsewhere.
"Wow something smells nice, you guys making chocolate?" Eduan's voice erupted from behind, wrapping his arms around his wife's waist. This caused the mother and son to jump, the former's head accidentally hitting the man's chin.
"Owowowowowowo," the male hissed while the woman numbed the top of her head. The little boy was staring at his now ruined chocolate in utter despair, muttering how there is no way he can give those chocolates to Bam now.
"Dad you idiot! Why did you sneak up on us like that!" Aguero yelled as he pointed at his father accusingly. Lilia, now recovered from the trauma to her head, is now checking on the man's chin for any serious injuries.
"Huh?! What do you mean?! I didn't sneak up on you!"
"Yes you did! And now our chocolates are ruined!"
"Oh? You guys made chocolate?" Eduan asked as he swerved past his angry son to inspect the array to treats on the table. "Ahh, they smell amazing~" he swooned.
Aguero crossed his arms and hmphed. "Of course! Mom made them after all! And I was just about to decorate them too before you barged in!"
"Now Aguero, keep your voice down," Lilia said as she patted him on the head, trying to calm him down.
"Oooh? Lilia, you made these?" the Khun family head asked as he indulged himself in some not so appropriate thoughts about his wife after learning that she was the one who made these treats. The woman cringed as she knew exactly what the man was thinking. Using her free hand, she whacked her husband's head with a rolling pin, causing him to hiss.
"Keep it in your pants, Eduan. Especially when Aguero's here," she glared as he man immediately put his hands up in surrender.
"Yes ma'am..."
When the young woman was busy washing the dishes, Aguero watched as his pathetic excuse of a father lie against the counter, watching those chocolates that his mother strictly instructed him not to touch cool down.
The little boy smirked as he grabbed the plate of chocolate from before and placing it in front of his father. At this, the man's eyes lit up. "Are these for me?"
Aguero smiled and nodded, which is something that was never really a good sign, especially when it comes to Eduan. But the latter was too distracted by the chocolates to care as he popped one in his mouth without a second thought.
"Eduan, can you-- WAIT DON'T EAT THAT!" Lilia screamed as the man froze. "Wait why-"
"I dropped those on the floor~" Aguero explained, causing Eduan to spit out the contents. He glared at his son who was doing a poor job at covering his laughter at his father's misery. Lilia face palmed as she took the plate and toss them away. "Sorry, I thought I threw those in the trash already..."
"But I fished them back out," Eduan immediately bolted to the sink after hearing what Aguero just said.
"Now, sweetie. That's not very nice, okay? Go apologize to your father," Lilia ordered causing the boy to pout.
"But he flirted with Mrs. Grace!" this time it was the man's turn to jump as he turned around, his face paled with horror.
"How did you know that?!" he exclaimed as Lilia crossed her arms. "H-honey! Look I can explain!"
"No need. Aguero already told me."
"Hah?"
"Mom! This means dad won't be getting any of the good chocolates, right?" Aguero asked, obviously pleased with his mother's disgruntlement with Eduan.
"Oh, Sweetie, chocolates won't be the only thing he's not getting," the woman smiled, the man knowing exactly what he meant.
"Hold on, c'mon Lilia! You can't do this to me, it's Valentine's Day!"
"Liliaaaa please?" Eduan begged as he wrapped his arms tighter around her waist, his hands fumbling around trying to find the strap of her robe before it getting smacked away. "I told you, Eduan, I'm not doing anything tonight," the woman stated as she buried herself deeper into the blankets on the bed they share. Her back facing the male.
"I'm sorry, you know it's how I've always been," he whined. "How about this, I promise that I won't flirt with anyone ever again."
"The amount of times you've made that promise is immeasurable. Tell me something better."
"... How about if I do the chores for a month."
Lilia turned around. "Six months."
"But-"
"I guess there's nothing else to discuss," Lilia stated. Just as she was about to turn back around, Eduan held her to his chest.
"Okay okay fine!" He agreed, feeling Lilia smile against his open robe. He looked down to see her looking up at him, a teasing smile played on her cherry lips.
"That's more like it," she said in a sultry tone. Eduan swallowed a lump in his throat before turning onto his back, still holding Lilia against his chest so now she's laying on top of him. He felt her delicate fingers tracing his collarbones before making its way up his neck and to his lips. All he could see right now were her half lidded jeweled eyes looking at him with such a passionate gaze, one that he hoped he was returning as well.
"Lilia, I lo-"
"Mama!" a high pitched voice cut through the intimate session like a chill through the couple's spines. Quickly sliding off her husband, Lilia turned to see her son in the doorway clutching his pillow. Eduan groaned as he propped himself up, narrowing his eyes at their intimate moment getting ruined just like that.
"Yes, Sweetie? Why aren't you in bed?" Lilia cooed as Aguero jumped on next to her.
"I got a nightmare, can I sleep here?" the boy whimpered as he wrapped his tiny arms around her neck. Eduan could see him smirking at him as the boy peered from his mother's shoulder.
The man growled under his breath, knowing that his son cockblocked him on purpose. "But Aguero, you're a big boy now, right? A little nightmare should be nothing for you," Eduan uttered, hoping that Lilia would just tell Aguero to go back to his room.
"B-but it was really scary! Can I sleep here? Please, Mama?" Aguero asked as he looked up at the woman with teary eyes. Aguero knew that his mother would melt under his teary gaze, and how she loved it when he called her mama. To put it simply, the boy knew how to get his way.
Like father like son.
"Alright, Sweetie, just for tonight, okay?" she smiled as she placed Aguero between her and her husband, causing the latter to grumble.
"Yay~" her son smiled as he made himself comfortable on the bed. Lilia held the boy close to her as they felt the warmth of their cheeks against each other. Eduan sighed as he took in the heartwarming sight before deciding to join in. He extended his arm above their bodies before holding them closer to his chest.
Aguero groaned, scooting closer to his mother. "I don't want your stinkiness to rub off on me, Dad."
"Hey! I don't stink!"
"You stink of grapes!"
"Boys, go to sleep."
"Yes ma'am / Yes mom..."
Eduan jerked up from his bed, his entire body covered in cold sweat. He looked around to see that he was alone in his room. It must have been the middle of the night since there wasn't a single glint of light coming from anywhere. He groaned as he placed his hand on his head.
"Quite a dream I had there..." he muttered under his breath. He felt himself smiling.
"Though, it wasn't as bad as I thought..." he turned towards a blue lily pin placed on the nightstand next to his bed.
"Happy Valentines Day, Lilia."
