The sky was cloudy, hiding the sun that could've peaked its sunlight through the white curtain of the window.
Taehyung opened his eyes and look around.
"When did I come here?"
He said to himself when he found himself in his room instead, he was even covered with a warm duvet.
It was so comfortable that he didn't even want to move but he had to wake up since it was already late. He just sighed and got down from the bed, trailing his feet lazily towards the bathroom. After taking a warm bath, he wore a dark blue pyjama and went downstairs just to see Jungkook in the kitchen, making breakfast.
"Uh? You're still here this late? You won't go for work today?"
Taehyung asked as he sat on one of the chair.
"Do you expect me to work even in weekends too?"
Jungkook said without giving even a glance at Taehyung as he give him the pancake he made.
"Ah... Right. It's weekend."
Taehyung said with a nod as he looked at Jungkook who sat on the chair opposite to him and quietly start eating his breakfast. It would be a lie if he say he didn't feel relieved to see Jungkook normally cooking like usual. He thought the other was never going to come back again after what happened the previous day.
"When did you come back yesterday?"
He never planned to ask that since it was going to make him look more obvious that he waited for him but he did.
"Why?"
Jungkook didn't even look at him and continued eating.
Well. That's more worst. Why did he even ask him that?
"You came back very late right? Was there more work to do even in midnight? You shouldn't overwork yourself you know. It's not good for your hea---"
"Why do you care about that by the way? Whether I come back late or not, you shouldn't care right? We agreed to mind our own business. Right?"
Jungkook cut Taehyung off and got up from his chair taking the plate with him and kept them in the sink.
If not for the sound of water from the basin where Jungkook was washing his hands, the whole house would've been occupied by silence. Taehyung just sat there without saying anything. He couldn't find any word to say because he himself stated that they shouldn't mind each other's business. But why he felt so bothered when Jungkook didn't paid much attention to him? That's what he wanted right? It's not like they casually chat each other before, all they do was always to bicker among each other on small things but why did he find the silence between them more disturbing?
The silence would've continued if not for the door bell that rung all of a sudden. Taehyung took this chance to get out of their awkward silence and went to open the door only to reveal his mother standing in front of the door.
"Mom?"
"How are you my dear? I miss you so much."
Mrs. Kim smiled and gave her son a warm hug patting his back softly.
"I'm good. I miss you too."
Taehyung hugged his mother back tightly as a drop of tear escaped from his eyes. He didn't know why but he was already in the verse of crying when Jungkook didn't give response to him nicely and now that he could see his mother again after so many days, he suddenly felt so emotional that he cried in her arms.
"Aww... Are you crying? Do you miss me that much huh?"
Mrs. Kim wiped the tears from her son's face and ruffled his hair as they entered the living room together.
"Oh? Mom?"
Jungkook greeted Mrs. Kim with a bow as he lead her to sit on the couch.
"How are you? It's weekend and both of you must be home so I thought why not visit you two today."
She took her seat on one of the couch comfortably while Taehyung sat beside her.
"We're doing good, Mom."
Jungkook said with a smile.
"What would you like to have here Mom? Should I make something for you?"
"No need. I just had my breakfast. Come here and sit. Let's have a chat together."
She smiled as Jungkook sat beside Taehyung.
"So... Are you both enjoying? Did my son cause any trouble for you? If he did, just teach him a lesson so that he can behave. We spoiled him too much."
"Mom..."
Taehyung whined when his mother start talking about him but flinched when Jungkook suddenly wrapped his arm around his waist.
"It's ok Mom. I don't mind anything but I just find him really cute when he cause trouble."
Jungkook just smiled ignoring the glare from Taehyung.
"Aww... That's so sweet. Being young must've feel so nice. I'm really thankful that my son got you as his husband."
Mrs. Kim smiled happily as she look at both of them.
"Oh yeah... I came here to say something too. Have you two thought about going for a honeymoon trip already?"
Both Taehyung and Jungkook snapped their heads towards Mrs. Kim when they heard her mentioning about honeymoon.
"Mom. You don't have to worry about that. We don't need that anyway. We're both doing good here. Besides, Jungkook is busy with his work. He won't have time."
Taehyung tried his best.
"Taehyung, listen. I know you both are doing really good here and are happy being together. But don't you think you both also need to enjoy for some more time? You both are a married couple now. Every couple usually gets excited for a honeymoon trip after marriage and look at you both. It's been so many days since you two got married and--"
"Mom... we--"
"Baby, will you get a glass of water for mom? She might be tired."
Jungkook cut Taehyung off before he could say anything more but sent him out of the room.
Mrs. Kim turned to Jungkook after Taehyung left the room.
"Jungkook, I know you're a hardworking person and take your work seriously and I really respect and proud of it. But you also need some break from your work to enjoy your life while you're young. I know you're busy and I'm not saying you don't take care of my son nor I'm asking you for more. My son might seem to be carefree and act bold outside but he still needs someone to pay more attention to him. We brought him up giving him whatever he ask for. And we know he loves traveling too but we were so scared to let him go alone before so we didn't let him go anywhere without us and we still regret that we couldn't give him what he wants. But now that you're here for him, there's nothing to worry about. Please take him somewhere he want to go. If you agree, I'll arrange everything for you."
She held Jungkook's hand tightly.
"Mom. Don't worry. I'll surely take him somewhere. And there's no need to arrange for anything for us. I'll do it myself."
Jungkook gave her an assuring smile as he tightened their hands.
"Thank you so much Jungkook."
She smiled as she pat Jungkook's head gently.
"I've already talked about this to your mother too and she was very happy with this idea. If she know that you've already agreed, she's surely going to cry of happiness."
Jungkook just laughed along with her until they heard a crashing sound from the kitchen. Jungkook didn't waste any time as he rushed into the kitchen just to find Taehyung standing there while small pieces of glass scattering near his feet.
"Sorry. It slipped from my hand."
Taehyung pouted as he squatted down to pick up the glass pieces but Jungkook grabbed his hand before he could touch the pieces.
"Why are you so clumsy? Just stand here and don't touch anything. It can cut your hand."
Jungkook said calmly with a deep voice as he made Taehyung to stand by the corner while he carefully cleaned the floor.
"You can go and sit there with Mom. I'll bring the water for her."
Mrs. Kim smiled when Taehyung sat down beside her while resting his head on her shoulder. She felt so relieved after she saw how gentle Jungkook was when it comes to Taehyung. All of her worries about her son's married life disappeared at that moment completely when she thought about how Jungkook will treat her son better than the way they treated him before.
"Taehyung. You like traveling right? Why don't you go with Jungkook? I'm sure he'll take good care of you."
She said when Jungkook gave her a glass of water and sat beside Taehyung.
Taehyung just pouted and kept fidgeting his fingers. He loves traveling, he always wanted to travel different places but his parents never allowed him to go alone. The only time he enjoyed was when he was studying abroad. He could go anywhere he like and take pictures of every single moment to keep them as a memory. But his parents were so protective that they never let him go anywhere after he came back home. And this was going to be his chance to travel around again.
"Baby... Don't worry about my work. I'll take leave so that we can travel and spend some more time together. Hmm?"
Jungkook smiled and slide his arm around Taehyung's waist but Taehyung just look at him while trying to take the hand on his waist out without saying any word. And of course Jungkook could see the slight pink blushed over Taehyung's cheeks so he decided to tease him more.
"Why? You don't want to go for honeymoon? Are you still mad at me that I don't spend much time with you? I'm really sorry baby. I promise I'll make it up with you and stay by your side 24/7 if we go for honeymoon. Pleaseee..."
Jungkook pouted and blinked his puppy eyes. He knew that even if he say something, Taehyung won't be able to say anything to him while his mother was around.
"Taehyung, just go and enjoy with him. You shouldn't stay mad at your husband for long."
Mrs. Kim smiled.
Taehyung could just sigh since he didn't know what to say anymore. He couldn't even find any excuses. He did want to travel but not like this. But he had no choice but to agree about the trip. He just nodded his head to which his mother happily gave him a warm hug.
After his mother left the house, Taehyung crossed his arms as he block the way by standing in front of Jungkook who was about to go upstairs to his room.
Jungkook just sighed and scratched his forehead.
"If you want to say something about the trip, don't worry about anything. You just have to tell me any place you want to visit. We'll just go there and you can do anything you want. You can enjoy on your own and I'll be on my own. It's just that we have to go together from here and have to come back together. I'm not going to bother you after we get our own rooms in a hotel once we reach there. You don't want your mother to find out the truth too soon right? Just act along. You should be happy that you're finally getting your chance to travel."
Taehyung lazily went to his room after Jungkook left him there, standing alone beside the stairs. He threw himself on his bed and lied on his back, looking up at the white ceiling.
But his mind kept recalling the way Jungkook wrapped his arm around his waist, the way Jungkook was so gentle and careful when he almost got hurt, the way Jungkook talked to him softly while calling him baby... Wait, he shouldn't think about these things right? It was all just an act in front of his mother. Jungkook treated him like that because his mother was around. But why does some part of his heart ached when he thought it was not real and everything was just an act?
But will he ever admit that he liked the way Jungkook treated him just a moment ago?
No. Of course not.
Well... guess it's going to be a long way till his heart and mind finally accept the feeling completely.
