"Yah Kim Taehyung ! Park Jimin !"
Taehyung and Jimin turned back instantly when they heard a familiar voice calling their names just to find the short haired girl standing behind them with her arms crossed.
They gasped and said simultaneously,
"Min Yoonji?"
"Long time no see."
She smirked.
"Soulmates."
She sighed when the two were still wearing the same face with their mouths wide open.
"Why do you look so surprise to see me huh?"
She smacked their foreheads at the same time with both her hands.
"Ouch !"
They screamed and rubbed their foreheads at the same time.
"Aigoo. Just look at you both. You two are synchronizing again, just like always. Tsk tsk."
She shook her head looking at the two who finally smiled at her.
"How will we be not surprise? Shouldn't you be in Japan now?"
Jimin asked while fixing his messy hair.
"I came 2 days back. I miss home."
"And you didn't even tell us you're back?"
Taehyung pouted.
"I thought of surprising you both tomorrow but who will know we'll meet here instead?"
"Surprise us? If you want to surprise us tomorrow then you could've just walk away. It's not like we found you. You found us."
Jimin crossed his arms.
"The thing is... it's too hard to pretend like I didn't see you when I clearly did. You know."
She winked with a finger heart but the two just rolled their eyes on her.
"Forget it. You two are still sticking together like always. Are you dating each other?"
"What? We? Dating? Yah Min Yoonji ! You haven't lost your mind, have you?"
Jimin glared at her.
"What? I'm just kidding. Why so serious?"
Yoonji shrugged her shoulders.
"So... Are you guys dating anyone? You got your girlfriends?"
She winked with her eyebrows along with an evil smirk.
"We're literally meeting after five years and all you want to ask is only about dating?"
Jimin raised his eyebrows while Taehyung just laughed at the two bickering. It was normal for them.
The three used to go to same highschool but they got separated when all three of them went to different places for their studies. Yoonji went to Canada and she mastered in Multimedia and Animation. Later, she stayed with her grandmother in Japan and currently working in a company there.
"That means you're still single. Right?"
Yoonji laughed.
"Don't tell me you're still into my brother."
She smirked at Jimin who was glaring at her with the red tint over his cheeks.
"I forgot how he looked."
Jimin looked away trying to hide his face.
"Oh come on. Is it because you can't see him anymore since I'm not here? Don't worry. I'll call him here."
"No. Don't you dare."
Jimin tried to snatch the phone from her hand.
"What? I'm just calling him to ask if he can pick me up from here. Why are you getting so tensed? Don't tell me you still haven't gotten over him."
Yoonji stucked her tongue out at Jimin while the other male was still whining not to make the call.
Taehyung tried to hold his laugh and just stood there silently because he clearly knew Yoonji would surely turn to him and tease him instead if he ever speak a word in between. He knew her for more than 10 years anyway.
"Why are you always picking on me? Ask Taehyung if he's in love with anyone."
Jimin whined.
"He's next. Don't worry. But I doubt he'll be dating anyone because he seems to be still sticking to his own rule of no dating like always. But you're getting more obvious. Now tell me, do you still have that little crush on my brother?"
"Well... He's still sticking to his rule but he's already ma---"
"Jimin ! Yoonji ! Should we go somewhere and talk properly? We're literally standing in the middle of a mall. Everyone is looking at us."
Taehyung quickly cut Jimin off before he say anything. It's not like he wanted to hide about his marriage from his friend but he won't be able to afford the amount of teasing he'll get from Yoonji in the middle of the mall if the other speak out anything about his marriage.
"Who cares. But yeah. It's not good to get too loud in public place. Let's go to my house and chat till night. It's not like we'll be going for dates anyway. And... I'll let some lovebirds meet each other."
Yoonji winked at Jimin with another smirk. She's having very much fun in teasing the male.
Taehyung bit his lower lips when Yoonji told about chatting till night.
"I can't be out too late. Jungkook might-- Wait... why should I even think about that annoying bunny right now? He shouldn't care whether I came late or not right? So why should I? It's my life. We have nothing to do with each other. Yes. I can do whatever I want."
He shook his thoughts off his head and took a deep breath.
"Yes. Let's go."
He grinned and bumped his fist with the two.
"That's it. Let's party in my house. We don't need to date for party. We don't need to fall for men to be happy and--- Oh wait... I just remembered I met two super handsome men today. I went to pick up my dad but I bumped into one of them in front of the restaurant. But God !! He's so gorgeous like I can't even explain."
Jimin and Taehyung could clearly see how her eyes were sparkling while telling her story and anyone could tell how the two were so done with her story.
They knew Yoonji was that kind of girl who will have a crush on every handsome men she saw but will still stay single. So they were tired of listening her endless stories about handsome men since highschool.
"You know, I was literally on the floor after I bumped into him and he lent his hand out to help me get up. He looked like a prince charming who came to save me like seriously. Aaahhhh... I felt like I just fall in love. Aww."
Yoonji was squealing on her own while recalling the face she saw.
"Aren't you the one who just said you don't need to fall for men to be happy?"
Jimin cut her off bringing her back to reality.
"He's different ok? He has that special charisma of his own. I can see it."
"Charisma?"
Jimin sneered.
"Yes. I was so nervous when I saw his handsome face so I just said I can get up on my own but when I was about to his hold his hand, do you know what he said?"
"What he said?"
Jimin asked with an uninterested tone.
"Good. Then get up."
She imitated the way the guy told her those words but Jimin and Taehyung bursted out laughing.
"I thought you would say about him being super nice to you and all but what? He didn't even help you get up? Isn't that rude?"
Taehyung said mockingly while laughing.
"That's not called rude because she herself said she can get up on her own. That's why he went away."
Jimin tried to control his laugh.
"Don't tell me he left you on the floor."
Taehyung pressed his tummy since it started to hurt from laughing but Yoonji rolled her eyes at them.
"It looks more like he really did leave her on the floor."
Jimin and Taehyung bursted out into another loud laugh but had to put their fingers on their mouth to control themselves since people were starting to give them weird looks.
"You two are useless. You don't even understand how's charisma. That's why you both are still single."
Yoonji crossed her arms.
"As if she's not single."
Jimin said and started laughing again.
"Forget it. At least I know it. Look at you. One doesn't want to date and one is still in his one sided love. Life must be hard for you two huh? At least I confessed right at their face whenever I like someone eventhough they rejected me right away saying I'm too straightforward to be a girl. But don't you think it's better to let myself know to whom I should waste my time? Instead of wasting your time to someone who's never going to appreciate it, I can waste my time and give off my heart to someone who'll love me for who I am. Not like someone who's still suffering alone since highschool."
Yoonji looked at Jimin who was giving her a death glare.
Taehyung was about to say something but his phone vibrated suddenly.
He gulped when he saw Jungkook calling him.
He excused himself and stepped away from the other two.
He cleared his throat before answering.
"Hello?"
"Are you still with Jimin?"
"Yeah."
"I'll come and pick you up from his hous---"
"No. I'm not in his house right now. We came out for shopping."
"Then I'll come ther--"
"No. Wait. I just met a highschool friend so I might stay out late."
"But your mom just called me to come back early from work. Your parents are visiting us today."
"What? Mom and Dad are coming? When? She didn't tell me."
"Evening. She told me not to tell you because she wants to surprise you. But I had to tell you because we have to fix the house and our rooms first."
"Oh God. Yes. Our rooms. She shouldn't find out we're staying in different rooms. And even our pictures. We even took out our wedding pictures from the wall last time."
"That's what I'm saying. We need to do everything before they come. So I'll come and pick you up. Where are you?"
"No need. I have my car with m--"
Then he remembered he left his car at Jimin's house since he came with Jimin instead.
"You have your car?"
"No. I left it at Jimin's house. It's far from here."
"It's fine. I'll pick you up. Tell me where are you now."
"I'll send you the location."
"Ok. Quick."
Taehyung quickly sent the location after Jungkook hung up the call. He felt so anxious only by the thought of getting caught by his parents after all the efforts he made.
"Guys. I can't come with you. Sorry."
He had to give up his time with his friends.
"Why?"
Yoonji whined.
"I have something important. Jimin come here."
He dragged Jimin a little farther from Yoonji who was giving them a confused look.
"Jimin. Jungkook just called me to come back. Mom and Dad are coming so I have to fix the house. They shouldn't find out we're living in separate rooms. You go with her alone. Ok? Sorry. And Don't tell her anything about me and Jungkook for now. I'll tell her later."
Taehyung pleaded.
"Ok ok. Fine. Go fast. Or else everything will be screwed."
Jimin understood him instantly.
"What are you two murmuring about?"
Taehyung and Jimin jumped in surprise when they suddenly heard Yoonji's voice from their back.
"What? Why are you so surprised? Is there any secret? Or are two hiding something from me?"
She furrowed her eyes as she looked at them suspiciously.
"No. Not at all. I was just saying I need to get back home. Haha."
Taehyung let out a faked laugh which Jimin followed as well but Yoonji still furrowed her eyes glaring at them.
"How will you go then? You left your car at my house right? You wanna take my car?"
Jimin tried to change the topic.
"No need. Jungkook will come to pick me up."
Taehyung casually said but he forgot he just said a name out loud until,
"Jungkook? Who is Jungkook?"
Taehyung and Jimin snapped their heads towards Yoonji who was just looking at them confusedly.
He screwed up again.
"No one."
That's the dumbest excuse of the century.
"No one?"
Yoonji crossed her arms. She didn't buy it. Who will anyway?
"Tell me before I dig into the name."
"He is... he is... He is my roommate."
Taehyung could only hope it works this time.
"Roommate?"
She tilted her head.
Did she buy it?
"Yah Kim Taehyung! Did you perhaps..."
Please... please...
"....Did you perhaps... did you move out already?"
"Huh?"
Taehyung have never felt that much relief before. She believed it. Yes.
"Uh... Yeah."
"Ooohh Kim Taehyung. It looks like your dream finally came true huh? You finally got your freedom now."
Yoonji tapped Taehyung's shoulder.
"When did you move out? Your parents didn't say anything?"
"Just recently. They didn't say anything but... uh... they come to my house to check on me. My roommate just called me to tell my parents are coming so I have to go back before they come."
Taehyung let out a deep breath after lying. He have never lied this much in his life before.
"Woah. Your parents never change."
Yoonji shook her head when she remembered how protective Taehyung's parents were since their childhood.
"But why would you live with a roommate? You wanted to live alone right?"
"Huh?"
Taehyung appolized his soul that he had to lie again.
"That's because... because... the fees... the rental fees are high... so we're paying it in half. That's why."
"Rent fees? You're living in a rented house?"
Yoonji widen her eyes in disbelief.
"Why would you rent a house when you can literally buy a flat in cash Taehyung? You're even splitting in paying the fees with someone?"
"That's... that's because my roommate is not that rich and his job doesn't pay much. So... I'm... I'm just helping him. You know... helping people in their needs is good."
Wow Taehyung. How much will you lie?
"Helping people. Yeah. Ok. Forget it. Do whatever you want. So... when is your roommate coming?"
Taehyung breathed out in relief when Yoonji didn't question him further.
"He's on his way. Oh?"
His phone suddenly vibrated with Jungkook calling him.
"I think he's here. I gotta go. Bye."
He waved his hand as he ran away.
The two was left inside the mall looking at Taehyung running out hurriedly.
"Hmm... I guess there's still a long way for him to get his so called freedom."
Yoonji sighed.
Jimin, who silently stood there watching his friend lying about his whole existence, finally let out a long sigh while looking at the way Taehyung ran away.
"Yeah. I guess so."
