Taehyung wriggled a bit, furring his eyebrows when his eyes couldn't take the bright sunlight just when he open his eyes. Looks like the dark clouds finally freed the sun.
But the first thing his half opened eyes fell was on the male sleeping peacefully. He could still feel the warmth from him.
He really stayed?
A sudden smile from nowhere appeared on his lips.
Now that he think about it, he had never seen the other's morning face before. Jungkook looked so peaceful and innocent when he sleeps, a total difference from the expressions he usually had.
"How long are you planning to stare at me?"
Taehyung gasped in surprise when Jungkook suddenly spoke.
"A-are you awake?"
"I wasn't sleeping."
Taehyung cleared his throat in embarrassment, he was caught staring at him anyway.
"Then why did you pretend to sleep?"
"Who said I was pretending? I was just closing my eyes while waiting for you to wake up because someone was crying last night telling me not to get up before he wake up."
Well. That's the second embarrassing thing happened right at the start of the day. He realized the way he asked the other to stay the previous night. But he was still happy that the other really stayed.
"Get up and come downstairs. I'll make breakfast."
Taehyung nodded as Jungkook got down from the bed and went back to his own room while he stared at the empty side of the bed where the warmth started to disappear gradually, he already want it back.
When he went downstairs after a warm bath, Jungkook was already in the kitchen, making their breakfast.
"Uh? You're already here? You gotta wait for a bit then. It's not done yet since you didn't let me get up early."
Taehyung rolled his eyes as he took his seat on a chair but he got a chuckle from Jungkook who continued what he was doing.
He let his chin rest on his palm with his elbow over the dinner table as he watched the back of Jungkook. He didn't notice much before but even the back of Jungkook looked so good. His broad shoulders, his nap, his now a bit longer hair, it looked so soft.
"What are you doing?"
The voice startled Taehyung only to realize himself standing behind Jungkook, his fingers were running through the other's back hair.
Wait. How and when did he went there? And why was his hand on Jungkook's hair? No. What was he even thinking while doing that?
Well, isn't this the third time he's embarrassing himself and it's still just morning? Maybe it was not his lucky day, oh well, when was even his lucky day?
"Taehyung? I told you to sit and wait. What are you doing here? Are you that hungry?"
Wait what? Why didn't he say anything? He didn't notice anything? Great!
"Uh... y-yeah. I'm hungry."
He was jumping with happiness mentally.
"Is there anything on my hair?"
"Huh? No?"
"Then why were you strocking my hair just now?"
"Uh... well... that's..."
He might be too dumb for being happy that the other didn't notice. Of course he should've noticed.
"Do it one more time."
"Huh?"
That was unexpected but what?
"I said do it again. It felt nice."
Taehyung tilted his head in surprise. Jungkook didn't mind? For real? He said it was nice. He said to do it again.
He wanted to do it again too. His hair was so soft.
So he brought his hand up letting it run through Jungkook's hair from back while the other continued his cooking. He felt Jungkook tilting his head as he stroke his hair gently, seemed like he was enjoying the touches. Maybe he likes his hair to be stroked and massaged.
But why was his heart beating so fast? Is it because of the tiny space between them? Jungkook wasn't even facing him, he wasn't even looking at him, but why he was affected only by their closeness?
As he looked at his back more, why he felt as if it was pulling him more closer?
His stubborn heart didn't listen to his mind that kept yelling not to cross the line he should've drawn between them as his arms wrapped around Jungkook's waist from the back while feeling the soft skin of the other's nap with his lips.
What was he even doing? Did he just kiss Jungkook's nap? Is he a pervert? Isn't it creepy to do such things to a supposed stranger? He's sure he isn't in his right mind but why everything felt so right? Maybe the warmth from Jungkook spread throughout his body when he hugged him from back, or maybe because of the realization of what he just did, he felt his face burning up.
But when Jungkook removed his arms from him and turned back, those eyes staring at him wasn't a cold or irritated one. It was filled with surprised and... sparks? What did that mean?
"Taehyung? What was that?"
"I-I don't know."
What was he even saying?
"You don't know?"
Jungkook took a step forward while Taehyung step back.
"Did you just... kiss my nap?"
Taehyung gulped. What will he say now? What excuse he'll use now? He put himself into this embarrassing mess. So he just stood there looking elsewhere except Jungkook's eyes. He couldn't even meet his eyes to the ones that were piercing through his.
"Taehyung look at me."
Jungkook said softly but Taehyung still couldn't look at him.
"You were so brave to kiss my nape just now but can't even look at me? Are you feeling shy right now?"
"Of course not."
Taehyung was now finally looking at him but only to find a smirk on Jungkook's lips.
Well, that smirk is back again.
"Then why can't you look at me?"
Before Taehyung could say anything, Jungkook moved his face more closer to Taehyung's, making the other gasped at the closeness between their faces. The deep stares on him was encouraging his heart to beat even more faster.
What's going on?
"Taehyung, do you like me?"
Taehyung felt as if his heart stopped functioning when Jungkook deepened his voice with the question, too deep that it could pierce through his heart-- Wait, what? What did he asked just now?
"Hell NO !"
That's what he answered.
"No? I thought you fell for me already. Since, you know, I'm quite handsome and I think I'm being extra nice to you these days. But... how disappointing. Tsk tsk."
Jungkook just shook his head and turned to take the cooked breakfast, leaving Taehyung to stand there with his mouth agape in disbelief with Jungkook's words. That was something Taehyung never completely expected after the previous atmosphere.
"Come and eat. It's late."
Taehyung just looked at Jungkook who already took his seat. How could he act so normal after what just happened? Then is it only him who was affected unnecessarily?
"What are you still doing there? Eat while it's still hot."
Taehyung cleared his throat as he took his seat across the dining table and start eating. Of course it tasted great, like always. He would definitely admit Jungkook is really a good cook. Maybe he gained more weight because everything Jungkook made are all delicious that he could eat everything up all by himself.
Then he realized the silence between them, they would usually have some small fights after roasting each other.
"You won't go for work? Isn't it late today?"
He finally broke their silence.
"Hmm? It's weekend."
Jungkook said after swallowing what was in his mouth.
"Ah? I forgot. So... you're gonna be home today?"
"I'll go buy groceries. There's nothing left for lunch."
Jungkook said while lifting up his glass to drink water.
"Can I come with you?"
Jungkook suddenly choked in the water while Taehyung passed him the tissue paper.
"What? You want to come with me?"
"Yeah. What's there for you to be so surprised only for this?"
Taehyung rolled his eyes.
"No. I mean... You'll really go buy groceries with me?"
"Yeah?"
"Like couples do?"
It was Taehyung's turn to choke in his own food stuffed inside his mouth.
"What?"
"Nevermind. Eat properly. Don't choke again."
Jungkook continued eating but a smirk was still visible.
"I want to go because I need to learn those things too before our deadline. I have to do everything by myself later. A month already passed anyway."
Jungkook paused his hand from picking up the last piece of his food on his plate and looked up at Taehyung who was still eating.
Yeah. A month already passed after their so called marriage. They have only two more months left to be together as per their deal.
"Taehyung."
"Hmm?"
Taehyung just hummed as a response, still focusing on his food.
"That ring... "
"Ring?"
Taehyung lifted his head up to look at Jungkook and then to his wedding ring, he forgot to take it off.
"Oh, I almost forget about this. I'm gonna take it off later."
"It looks so good on your finger."
"Huh?"
"Can't you just wear it everyday?"
Taehyung felt something, a sudden tingling sensation in his chest. Why? He wanted to ask for the reason too but he was also afraid to know the reason. He just stared at Jungkook without saying anything.
"Finish up your breakfast and get ready. We need to buy so many things."
Jungkook got up with his plate while Taehyung just sat there in daze, looking at his ring.
‐‐‐
"Taehyung, don't touch it please."
"Why? Let's buy this too. It looks so cute."
"How is a cabbage cute to you?"
"It's so small so it's cute. Let's buy this."
"No. It's too small. We can't make anything with that. We'll get that bigger one over there."
"No. I want that cutie cabby."
"Cutie cabby? Did you just give that cabbage a name?"
"So what? Isn't it a cute name?"
"Oh my! Seriously Taehyung? Hey wait. Don't go there. Taehyung come back here."
Jungkook was having a hard time controlling Taehyung. He felt as if he just brought a three year old kid with him. He's never going to take Taehyung with him for grocery shopping ever again.
But he surely was enjoying too, watching Taehyung giggling happily was so amusing.
After struggling, Jungkook could finally finish buying all the necessary stuffs. But Taehyung wasn't ready to go back yet. Just how much this guy likes going out?
"Taehyung, there's nothing to see here anymore. Let's go back."
"But it's fun here."
"Fun? Here? Taehyung, this is a grocery store, not a park."
"Oh yes. Park. Let's go to a park."
Taehyung looked even more excited after the mention of park.
Jungkook massaged his forehead regretting for reminding him of park.
"Taehyung. We need to cook and eat at home. Let's go back."
"We can eat out today. I'll treat you."
"Aren't you the one who said you don't eat outside food?"
"I can forget that for today. Come on. I want to go to park. Please?"
Jungkook couldn't say no anymore when Taehyung blinked his eyes with a pout. He was trapped.
"Ok. Fine. But it's too sunny today. It will be very hot to go to park now. Is it ok for you if we go somewhere else?"
"Where?"
"You'll know when we reach there."
"Don't tell me you're gonna bring me back home."
"No. I'm not. I promise."
Jungkook breathed out in relief when Taehyung finally agreed or else they would've spend the whole day at the store instead.
Taehyung curiously looked around while following Jungkook who was leading him through a hallway till they reach a door by the end but he didn't expect a man by the door would bowed at Jungkook.
"Please welcome sir."
Jungkook just smiled awkwardly at the man and looked at Taehyung who was giving him a 'what's going on' look.
"Let's get inside."
Jungkook said when the man opened the door revealing a dark room.
"Where are we?"
Taehyung whispered.
"You'll know if you go inside. Let's go."
"But--"
"Just follow me."
Taehyung flinched when Jungkook grabbed his hand and dragged him inside with him.
But he gasped when the lights of the hall switched on.
They were in a bowling alley. A big one.
"Oh my ! Woah ! JUNGKOOK?!"
Taehyung squealed.
"Which is better? Park or this?"
Jungkook smirked while crossing his arms.
"This of course."
Taehyung grinned.
"But I never knew about this place before. How did you know? There's no other people either. I guess it's a new place or something?"
"Well..."
Jungkook scratched the back of his neck, he can't say the place was his personal bowling alley.
"You know how to play right?"
"Why not?"
Taehyung crossed his arms.
"Want a match?"
Jungkook said holding one bowling ball.
"Then I'd love to see you lose."
Taehyung smirked.
Jungkook just chuckled at Taehyung's confidence as he held the ball carefully and bowled, striking all the pins in one go and winked at the other lifting one eyebrow with a proud smirk.
Taehyung scoffed as he held another ball, he smirked back when he strike all the pins.
"Not bad."
Jungkook crossed his arms.
"I know."
Taehyung shrugged his shoulders with another smirk.
"One more time?"
"Of course."
They played together, till it was already time for lunch, teasing each other, the hall was echoed with their giggles and laughter but still being competitive when they played. They enjoyed playing together, well, more like they enjoyed each other's company, but none of them realized the second reason of their joy.
‐
"The food is great here. Everything was delicious."
Taehyung said as he swallowed the last piece of his steak.
Jungkook brought him to a restaurant after they came out from the bowling alley.
"Better than my cooking?"
Jungkook asked while taking a tissue.
"Of course it's more good here."
Taehyung chuckled when Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"Then eat here instead everyday. I won't cook for you."
Jungkook crossed his arms but Taehyung just laughed at him.
"Ok. Sorry. The food is good here but I like your cooking more."
"That sounds better."
Jungkook just watched Taehyung giggling. Then his eyes fell on Taehyung's hand, with the ring still on his finger.
"You're still wearing it?"
Taehyung cleared his throat and looked away.
"Uh... Yeah. I can still wear it as an accessory. Besides, you said it looks good on my finger. So..."
Jungkook couldn't help but smile when he noticed the red tint over the other's cheeks.
"Thanks."
"What's that for?"
Taehyung look away.
"Nothing. Just..."
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders.
"Shall we go back now? Or you still want to go somewhere?"
"No. I'm tired. I miss my bed."
"Finally."
Jungkook breathed out and dropped his shoulders acting as if he was about to fall from the chair while Taehyung bursted out into a laughter looking at him.
"Ok. Sorry. Let's go now so you can get some rest too. You've been working hard since we came back from Malta. I just wanted you to enjoy for sometime at least."
Jungkook smiled when he realized he actually had so much fun than he expected. He always used to go there to play on his own, he thought he always had fun playing there all by himself but it was completely different when he played with Taehyung. The way he enjoyed was never the same as before, and he don't think he would ever enjoy playing alone after anymore.
Just when they came out from the restaurant, Jungkook excused himself to take a call while Taehyung stood resting his back on Jungkook's car door, scrolling through his phone.
"Taehyung?"
He lifted his head when he heard a familiar voice calling his name.
"Yoonji?"
He found Yoonji standing in front of him.
"Yeah. Me. Happy to see me here?"
Yoonji smiled flipping her black hair but end up laughing when Taehyung rolled his eyes at her.
"What are you doing here alone?"
"I'm waiting for Jungkook."
"Jungkook? Who is tha-- Oh wait. Your roommate?"
"Huh? Uh... Y-yeah. My roommate."
"Where is he? I want to meet your roommate too. How about I warn him not to let you do any work? He need to keep you like a prince you know."
Yoonji smirked as she link her arms with Taehyung.
That's when Taehyung realized he shouldn't have told her he's waiting for Jungkook.
"No thanks please. He---"
"Taehyung, let's g--"
Taehyung was cut off when he saw Jungkook, he thought the other would take longer so he could escape from Yoonji without letting them meet but guess it's not what's going to happen.
Jungkook just stood there frozen when he saw Taehyung with a girl, linking their arms so casually with no hesitation on Taehyung's face at their closeness.
But they were not the only one shocked at the moment, Yoonji was standing with her mouth agape when she turned back after hearing an unfamiliar voice and saw a face she never expected to see again.
All three of them stood there in silence, just looking at each other.
