All three of them stood there in silence, just looking at each other.
"Taehyung, let's go home."
Jungkook was the first to speak but his tone seemed different than usual when he spoke.
"Oh. Yeah."
Taehyung said and turned to Yoonji to say her bye but she just dragged Taehyung some steps away from Jungkook who was glaring at them.
"What are you doing?"
Taehyung whispered.
"Wait. Is that him? He's your roommate?"
Yoonji asked with sparkling eyes.
"Y-yeah? So?"
"Oh my god! Taehyung!"
Yoonji squealed as she hugged Taehyung tightly.
"Thank you so much. I thought I'll never see him again."
"Wait, what? You know him?"
Taehyung almost freak out, he was scared if they know each other and if Jungkook happened to tell her about their marriage, then he's done for.
"Do you remember I told you about a handsome guy I met?"
"Which one?"
"What do you mean which one?"
"How will I know? You always talk about handsome guys you met so obviously I would get confused which one you're talking about."
"Ok ok. Understood. The one I'm talking about now is the one I bumped into."
Taehyung looked up, trying to remember.
"Oh yeah. The one who left you on the floor?"
Taehyung laughed when he recalled about the story.
"Ok. That's a bit harsh insult but at least you remembered so I'm gonna let this go. Now listen, that guy who left me on the floor or whatever, that one is your roommate."
"What?"
Taehyung dropped his jaw in shock but deep down, he felt a bit relief that they don't know each other.
"Are you sure he's the guy? You're not mistaken him with another right?"
"No way. He's the one. I can really be sure because of that special charisma in him."
Taehyung scoffed and started laughing.
"Charisma? In him? Oh my Yoonji, what happened to your eyes these days?"
"There's nothing wrong with my eyes ok? My eyes are more healthier than your whole existence."
Yoonji flipped her hair but Taehyung just rolled his eyes.
"So... won't you introduce your sweet innocent friend to your handsome roommate? Hmm?"
She formed a flower cup with her hand around her face blinking her eyes.
"Do you still want me to introduce you to him after he left you on the floor?"
"Oh come on. If you introduce me as your friend, then he won't act like that to me, don't you think? If we get to know each other, I can get more closer to him you know. Please?"
"Fine. But I gotta warn you he can be really annoying sometimes."
"That's fine. Annoying guys are more attractive."
"Seriously Yoonji? Your head isn't missing any screw nuts or anything right?"
"Will you introduce me or not? If not, I'm gonna go and tell him how you stole the ice cream from my bag in highschool."
Yoonji was about to go away but Taehyung stopped her holding her wrist.
"Ok. Fine. I will. But don't tell him anything."
"What will I tell him anyway? I threw that memory from my head just now. I don't remember anything about all the embarrassing things you did before. Now let's go. I want to talk to him. I wonder if he still remember me."
Yoonji looked over excited when Taehyung finally bring her towards Jungkook who was still standing while resting his back on the car.
"Jungkook."
Jungkook looked up when Taehyung called him. But his eyes were still on the other's hand holding the girl's hand.
"Sorry. Did you wait long?"
"No. I'm fine. Are you done now?"
Jungkook's voice sounded so dull.
"Are you tired?"
Taehyung tilted his head when he noticed a different tone.
"Yeah. A bit. Let's go home."
"Alright. But wait. I wanted to introduce her to you. She's my highschool friend I told you before, Yoonji."
Jungkook recalled Taehyung mentioning about having a friend aside from Jimin.
"Oh. Nice meeting you. I'm Jungkook, Taehyung's---"
"Roommate."
Taehyung cut the other and faked a smile signaling Jungkook not to say anything so the other kept quiet.
"I'm Yoonji, Taehyung's highschool friend, well, more like we're much more closer than just being friends. Right Taehyungie?"
Yoonji grinned at Taehyung, trying to show how close they are so Jungkook would at least talk to her.
But someone was poking his cheeks with his tongue at her words and glaring at the two.
"Well, do you perhaps remember me?"
Yoonji smiled at Jungkook but the other just tilted his head.
"Do I know you?"
"Huh? Ah... it's not like you know me or I know you. Uh... we've actually met before."
"Sorry. I don't think I've seen you before."
Jungkook replied with a blank expression and bowed at her.
"We'll be off. Taehyung, let's go home."
He turned towards Taehyung but when the other nodded and about to get inside the car,
"Taehyungie, wait. I need to tell you something."
Yoonji stopped him.
"Jungkook, just a second ok?"
Taehyung mouthed a sorry before he turned towards Yoonji.
"What now?"
"Will you tell me more about him please? I don't know but I think I'm really falling for him. He's too cool."
"Cool? You think that was cool? He literally told you he doesn't remember you."
"You won't understand. Will you please tell me? Please? I really want to know more about him now."
"There's nothing to tell you about him other than being annoying."
"But I want to know how annoying he is."
"Urgh! Fine. Fine. Let's talk later."
"Really? Then I'll call you tonight?"
"Ok ok. Do whatever you want."
"Yay! Thank you Taehyungie."
She squealed and hugged him again.
Taehyung just laughed at how desperate his friend was and hugged her back, tapping her back slightly.
"There, there. Enough of your drama. I'll go now. Bye."
He smiled and walked towards the car where Jungkook was still waiting for him.
"Jungkook. Sorry. Let's go."
"Taehyungie! I'll call you tonight ok?"
Yoonji smiled as she waved her hand at Taehyung when her friend got inside the car.
"You can call me anytime you want Yoonji. Bye."
Taehyung smiled and waved his hand at her as well when Jungkook started to drive.
The whole way back to their house was filled with silence. When Taehyung tried to start a conversation, Jungkook didn't even say anything, instead he speeded up the car whenever Taehyung tried to speak something, as if he was shutting him up.
Once they reach their house, Jungkook didn't even wait for Taehyung and just went straight inside without saying anything. Taehyung started to get annoyed with his sudden behavior so he stomped his feet as he followed the other and stood in front of him blocking his way.
"Jungkook, what's the matter?"
Jungkook didn't give any answer as he tried to go away but Taehyung blocked him again.
"Will you tell me what's wrong Jungkook? Are you ok? Are you feeling unwell? Why are you like this?"
"It's not your business whether I'm ok or not so why do you care to know now?"
Jungkook finally responded but raising his voice.
"What? Are you that tired while waiting for me? I'm sorry I took long while talking to her. I--"
"Then why don't you just go with her and finish your talk?"
Jungkook yelled.
But Taehyung just stood there in silent. He'd never seen Jungkook like that. What went wrong? They were getting along well lately, they enjoyed the day together but what actually went wrong for Jungkook to act like that? And it somehow hurt him, it scared him by a sudden fear of losing Jungkook. He was scared if he would mess up if he speak a word so he kept silent, but he still wanted to say something, he wanted to ask why Jungkook was like that all of a sudden.
But no words seemed to be ready to come out from his mouth, so he took his steps forward until his arms could reach the other and wrapped them around Jungkook's neck tightly until Jungkook's stiffened body relaxes.
"Are you... mad at me? Did I do something wrong?"
He asked softly but Jungkook didn't say anything, instead, he wrapped his arms around Taehyung's waist.
"If you're tired, then take some rest hmm? If I did something wrong--"
"I want to call you a nickname too."
"Huh?"
Taehyung never expected that would be the first thing Jungkook would say after yelling at him.
But what? A nickname?
He loosen his arms around Jungkook's neck to look at his face.
"Nickname? Why... all of a sudden?"
"Why? Uh... because... your name is too long. I have to say your whole name whenever I call you and it's annoying."
"What? You think my name is too long? It's only two syllables tae-hyung."
Taehyung folded his two fingers.
"It's still long."
"If my name is long then yours is long too. Jung-Kook."
"Why are you so against me calling you a nickname?"
Jungkook frowned but Taehyung could just chuckled.
"You're usually annoying but I think you're kinda cute today."
Taehyung giggled when the frown finally left Jungkook replacing by a slight smile.
"Don't be too happy, I'm more cute than you."
Jungkook finally chuckled when Taehyung poked his cheeks.
"So, what are you going to call me?"
Taehyung asked as he played with Jungkook's hair unintentionally but it became messy as his bangs fell over his forehead.
"Oh, sorry."
He tried to fix it but Jungkook held his hand.
"It's fine. I don't mind you playing my hair."
Taehyung smiled as he let his fingers run through his hair.
"Even if I make it messy? Like this?"
He ruffled his hair making it more messy.
He thought the other would get annoyed but to his surprise, Jungkook just smiled and closed his eyes at his touch.
"I didn't know before but you looked more cute with your hair down."
He gasped when he blurted out but didn't regret when Jungkook opened his eyes and just smiled at him.
"Do I?"
Taehyung's smile grew wider as their eyes met. What's wrong with him? Why can't he stop his smile when the other smiled at him?
But he's not gonna lie, Jungkook do look cute with his hair down eventhough he look handsome with his usual exposed forehead.
Wait. What? Did he just admit Jungkook is handsome?
"Y-yeah."
"Is that so?"
Jungkook just chuckled along with Taehyung's giggles.
"You said you're tired right? Are you alright now?"
"Yeah."
"Sorry. If I didn't ask you to go around and just came back home, you wouldn't be tired like this."
Taehyung said with a pout, but the other just smiled.
"No. Today was fun. Thank you for asking to go around and thank you for playing with me. I really enjoyed being with you."
Jungkook said deepening his voice which made Taehyung smile again.
"Me too. I enjoyed today... with you."
Both smiled together while locking their eyes together.
But didn't realized they were still holding each other securely, being so comfortable to be in each other's arms.
‐
Taehyung lied of his bed while talking with Yoonji on the phone. Yoonji was insisting him to let her meet Jungkook again right after he picked up her call.
But why her request was bothering him so much? His mind kept wandering in the thoughts of how Jungkook smiled at him earlier, how Jungkook look at him. He kept recalling about how warm his hugs were.
Then his eyes fell on the rings on his finger, it reminded him of how Jungkook told him it looks good on his finger and asked him not to take it out, but it also reminded him of their marriage, a marriage that will last only two months from now.
He knew Jungkook wasn't a bad guy, no, he's really a good person, too good that he felt as if he was interfering in his life.
He was too into escaping from his own marriage that he dragged Jungkook into this mess and didn't even think about what the other wants, just compelled him to do whatever he wanted. Isn't he too selfish?
After their deal is over, they might go to each other's own way, they might not get to meet each other, even if they happen to meet, they might passed each other by like strangers.
He never wanted to be in any relationship with anybody, so after their deal, he might just go and live his life alone like he always wanted. But for Jungkook, he might need someone who love him and will take care of him.
But that someone is not going to be him and Jungkook will probably not want a troublesome stubborn person like him to be that someone for him.
So if Yoonji really like him, just if they get to know each other, there is still a chance for them to fall for each other, right? He knew Yoonji is such a nice person with great personality and humor, she will be the most sincere person in a relationship who will love and care for her partner. And if she really like Jungkook, he's sure she would take good care of him.
And he knows Jungkook has done so much for him. So, he just wanted to do at least that for him.
"Yoonji. I'm gonna ask you this once and it's gonna be the last. Do you really like him? Do you wanna date him? Like for real? You won't just leave him after you meet another guy right?"
It kinda hurt but he asked it anyway.
He's always been selfish, he just wanted to not be at least this time, for his best friend and for Jungkook.
"Yeah. I don't know anything about him yet but I have a feeling he'll be a nice person."
Taehyung took a deep breath.
"Fine. I'll let you meet him. When do you want to meet?"
"Really? Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Do you have any plans tomorrow? Is tomorrow alright for you?"
"Oh my god Taehyung. Of course I don't have any plans tomorrow. Thank you so much. You're the best."
"Then I'll bring him with me tomorrow. I'll tell you where to meet later."
"Ok. Thank you Taehyung. Seriously."
"Ok ok. Enough of your thanks. I'll hang up now. Just don't mess up tomorrow. As I warned you before, he can be annoying sometimes, like really really annoying."
"Ok. Understood. I'll handle it."
Just after he hung up the call, he tossed his phone beside him and stared at the white ceiling.
Would it be alright to do this?
He don't even understand what is he doing. With a sigh, he went to kitchen where Jungkook already kept everything ready for their dinner.
"Oh, you came? You can eat now. It's all ready."
Jungkook smiled as he took his usual seat across the dining table.
"It looks good."
Taehyung grinned looking at the dishes Jungkook made.
"It'll taste great too, like always."
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders while Taehyung just laughed.
"Well... Jungkook, I want to tell you something."
Taehyung said, a bit hesitantly. He was waiting for the right time to bring up the things he would say about the next day.
"Hmm? What is it?"
Jungkook smiled as he put down the glass of water from his hand.
"Uh... that girl, my friend, Yoonji, we've been friends since highschool and we're really close."
Jungkook's smile suddenly disappeared just when Taehyung mentioned Yoonji.
"Yeah. So?"
"Well uh... since I knew her for a long time, I know what kind of a person she is. Um... she's such a nice girl, pretty, she can sometimes be funny and that's kinda cute. She's a bit sassy but I've never seen a sincere girl like her. Uh... what I mean to say is--"
"Do you like her?"
"Huh?"
Taehyung never expected Jungkook would cut him off with that question.
How in the world did he get that thought?
"If you like her, just say it. Don't beat around the bush."
"Wait. Wait. Hold on. This is really going on another way around. Like what? Me? Like her? That's never going to happen ok?"
"Then what is it? She was clinging around you but you didn't even hesitated when she held your hand, she even called you with nicknames and acting cute around you but you're just fine with it, and now you're praising her like she's a goddess or something. Just say it if you like her, it's not like I would mind you dating her anyway."
Taehyung just sat there with his mouth agape. What just happened? He was just trying to make Jungkook impressed with her by telling him how good of a person she is but how did it turn out this way? And why the hell he's so angry about? Where did the thing about him liking Yoonji enter his head?
He was about to ask him to go on a date with her but guess it's better not to say it. If he ask him to go on a date with her right now, he might blow up. But he promised Yoonji to let her meet Jungkook so he gotta do something.
"I do like her but as a good friend of mine, not as another woman. We're really close so I don't really mind her clinging on me because she's always like that and it's a normal thing for her. And she'll call me whatever comes to her mind and it's not only for me, she even called Jimin a panda once. And I praised her because I wanted you to know she's not a bad person to hang out with. I thought it would be nice to introduce my other friends to you but guess you're not interested. Well... I don't even know anyone related with you except for your parents. Guess it was a bad idea to let you meet her. Sorry."
Jungkook was left speechless, he felt guilty for getting mad for nothing.
"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have think like that."
Taehyung was surprised at how quickly Jungkook apologized. His trick really worked. He tried to suppress his laugh when he saw the guilty look on Jungkook's face.
"It's fine."
He made his voice a bit softer and faked a pout.
"Well, I wanted to say something too. You won't get angry again right?"
Jungkook shook his head.
"No I won't. What is it?"
"Do you have plans for tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow? Why?"
"If you don't have any other plans, can we go out and eat like today?"
"Do you wanna go out with me?"
"Huh?"
Ok. He might've asked it casually according to what he said but doesn't that sentence sounds a bit... as if he's asking him out?
"What? You said you want to go out and eat like todey. So weren't you asking me to go with you?"
That's it. He knew it. What was he even thinking about.
"Well. Yeah. That's right. So you'll go with me right?"
Jungkook smiled and nodded.
"Sure. Where do you want to go and eat? The same restaurant we went today?"
"No. I want to go somewhere else."
"Fine then. Guess you're starting to eat outside food now. But don't ever try to underestimate mine ok? Mine is more hygienic and delicious."
Taehyung just laughed at Jungkook.
"I won't, I won't. I just want to go out because it's kinda fun and that's all. My cook's cookings are better than any restaurant."
"I'm not your cook. I'm your husband."
"Haha! Ok. You're my husband cook. Oh wait, even your name has a 'Kook'. Woah, you're destined to cook for me."
"Hey, that's too much."
"Woah, I just found a nickname for you. Kook-kook. Jung-kook, Kook-kook. Oh my god, it's so cute. Wait, that's a bit long, so... Kookie. Wow, I'm a genius."
Both bursted out into laughter. The house was filled with the sounds of happy laughs and giggles but that wasn't just a laugh from the jokes they made but a laugh from pure happiness they felt to be around each other.
They had fun and enjoyed the day, with no idea of what's going to come for them the next day.

        "Taehyung, let's go home."
