"You really bought this?" Jungkook laughed as he open the bags Taehyung gave him.
"Why? You thought I was joking?" Taehyung picked the brown one and give it to the other, "here, try this on first."
Jungkook chuckled as he take it, "do I really have to do this? Now?" He just sighed when the other nodded, "so, how is it?" he turned after putting on the shirt.
"Perfect. Even the size fits you perfectly. I must've chosen the perfect size for you, " Taehyung grinned as he help the younger fix the shirt, "why don't you wear any colour other than black and white? This colour suits you."
"I don't know. I might just like black and white a little more?" Jungkook smiled when the elder pick up the one with pastel cream colour and keep it over his chest.
"You should try wearing other colours too. I'm sure every colour will suit you. This looks nice too."
Jungkook smiled as he take it from Taehyung's hand, "you want me to try this on too? Oh, there's a green one too? Just how many shirts you bought?"
"It's only ten shirts, ok? I thought of buying ten dozens but there was only ten pieces." Taehyung crossed his arms when the younger start counting the shirts, "I'll buy you more later if that's not enough."
"No need. This is more than enough. Thank you," Jungkook chuckled as he change back into his pyjama and put the rest of his new turtlenecks into his cupboard. "What were you doing with that?" He asked when he notice Taehyung's camera on the table before plopping down on the bed with a sigh.
"Ahh, I was looking at the pictures we took in Malta." Taehyung grinned as he take the camera from the table before sitting next to the younger, resting his back on the bedrest, "wanna see? They're really cute."
They giggled as they scroll through the pictures, teasing each other when anyone of them was found making funny faces in some pictures.
Taehyung smiled, staring at Jungkook who was casually resting his head over his chest with his hand around his waist. He can't even imagine his life without this male now.
"Jungkookie," he whisper called the younger while his hands ruffle his hair, he didn't even realize he just call out the name with a soft loving tone.
"What did you just call me?" Jungkook instantly lifted his head to look at him.
"What?"
"No. I mean... did you... did you just say Jungkookie?"
Taehyung tilted his head, "yeah, so what?" He still didn't get why the younger react that way all of a sudden.
"No. It's the first time you actually called me like that. That sounds so cute. Call me like that again. Hmm hyung?"
Taehyung just end up chuckling at the way Jungkook start using 'hyung' everytime he wants something from him, not that he don't like it, he just find it cute.
"Jungkookieee Jungkookieee Jungkookieee," he playfully grabbed the younger's cheeks, squeezing it as he say the name again and again while Jungkook just chuckled before crawling above him, burying his face in the crook of his neck as his arms slid around his waist.
"Please, that's so cute. Call me that way from today yeah?" He mumbled while the elder giggled.
"Fine. But what if I want to call you baby sometimes?"
"No, leave that for me. I'll call you with that instead."
"Hey, you should call me hyung, not baby."
"Ok baby hyung."
"What? Baby hyung? I told you not to-- Hey! Don't. Jungkook, stop!" Taehyung laughed when the younger start tickling him.
"I don't want to call you with only hyung. It doesn't sound like we're couples," Jungkook said after he stop tickling the other, lifting his head to look at Taehyung. "But if you want me to call you hyung then I want it to sound more sweet, you know."
"But it's still cute when you call me hyung tho," Taehyung smiled, his fingers busy playing the other's hair.
"What about... Hyungie?" Jungkook suggested while the other just laughed at the name. "Why? It sounds more cute, don't you think? What about Taehyungie hyung? Taehyungie hyungie? Taehyungie hyungie hyung? Oh gosh, these all sound so cute? Which one do you like the most?"
Taehyung couldn't help but laughed, the younger looked so cute getting excited just trying to choose a name to call him. "Alright, alright. I'm fine with anything. Call me anything you want."
"Really?" Jungkook smiled before leaning for a peck on his cheek as the other nodded, "and... it's fine actually, if you call me baby I mean. I think that'll be cute too."
Taehyung just stared at the younger, smiling stupidly at how cute Jungkook was. Never thought the annoying person who once used to annoyed him would actually turn out to be person to make him happy now.
"Baby Jungkookie?" He muttered and the younger just ended up laughing as he hugged him again.
They just played around a bit, chuckling and giggling at the little silly jokes they made on each other until they just lied on the bed, cuddling in each other's arms. None of them speak a word, but the silence in the room wasn't awkward either, it was calm and quiet enough for them to listen to their heartbeats.
"Isn't this nice?"
"Hmm?" Jungkook looked at Taehyung who broke the silence, he didn't get why the elder said something so random in between the silence.
"I mean us. You and me, together like this, it's just... it feels amazing to be with you."
He stared at the smiling male in his arm. He thought he would tell him about his true identity but, maybe because he didn't get the right time, he just couldn't bring up the topic yet. And now that Taehyung is saying such things, it turned to be more difficult for him than he thought.
He was scared of Taehyung's reaction, when the other was looking so happy to be with him, he didn't want to ruin their pleasing little moment either.
He remember how Hoseok told him Taehyung will accept him for whatever he is if he loves him, he knew he still need to tell him the truth soon whatever the result might be, but when he looked at those heart eyes staring at him, no words seemed to be ready to leave his lips.
Why is this so hard?
He thought their relationship will be nothing more than just fake couples for three months, he thought they would be strangers again, and that's why he lied about his identity, he never liked people knowing more about him. He never imagined there would come a day when he want someone to know everything about himself.
And to think that Taehyung still loves him without knowing anything about him, after he told him how he like him for being a simple employee who works hard, would Taehyung still trust him after knowing all of these things he believed were nothing but lies?
Is he ready for the consequences if everything got changed between them?
No. He's not. He's scared, scared to lose the male in his arms. He's scared to risk their relationship.
Knowing the fact that Taehyung will eventually know the truth, because it's hard to keep a lie hidden for long, but guess it's more harder to reveal the truth of his own lie by himself.
"Jungkookie."
Didn't know he was in his thoughts for a while until Taehyung called his name, in the most loving way.
Shall he just say it? Maybe, just maybe, Taehyung wouldn't mind him lying if he tell him why he lied?
"I--"
"Do you have any dream, Jungkookie?"
"Hmm?" He paused when Taehyung asked while looking at him. And there goes his strength to tell him the truth when the other smiled at him.
"Everyone has a dream in their lives, right? Do you have any? I mean, anything you want to do?"
Jungkook sighed a bit before landing a peck on the other's forehead, "why are you asking that now? Do you have anything you want to do?" He smiled, just for this moment, he didn't want to ruin their cozy little moment by telling him.
"I do. That's why I'm asking about you."
Something he want to do? A dream?
He never really thought much about it. He has a company to manage, all he thinks is about the betterment of his company.
His dream... that would be bringing his company to the top, won't it?
But about something he want to do... What does he want to do?
"What? Why aren't you saying anything? You don't have anything you want to do?" Taehyung got up and sit straight, "Are you serious? You don't have a dream?" He frowned when the younger didn't say anything.
"And why do you look so mad about it, hmm?" He slowly got up to sit and tried to stretch the frowning eyebrows of the elder with his thumb.
Are they really talking about this in the middle of the night?
"Because it can't be," Taehyung grabbed the other's hand to remove it from his face and frown again, "I'm sure everyone has something they want to do in their lives but why don't you have any?"
Jungkook chuckled at the way Taehyung got mad for the cutest reason. "Maybe... I want to play games?" He said it anyway. As far as he can think, the only thing he want to do is play games.
"Really? That's it. Of course you got to have something you want to do. I thought you'll be thinking your job is enough for you. I'm glad you still like playing games."
Jungkook paused for a moment. Should he say his job is not just a simple employee in the company but actually the owner of the company? Right now? Is this a right time for that? Should he just--
"Then why don't you participate in competitions? There's so many tournaments nowadays, right? And there are many famous gamers now."
Guess he missed the chance again.
"Well... I'm not that good enough to participate in tournaments," he tried to lie down on the bed again but Taehyung grabbed his arm to stop him.
"Are you serious? I remember you said you're JK. And now you say you're not good enough? I'm sure everyone will like JK's comeback, don't you think?" Taehyung's smile reduced when he noticed the younger hanging his head down. "Are you... perhaps... still scared?"
Jungkook raised his head to look at the elder saying it out loud for him as if he understood his fear.
It's not like he don't want to participate, nor like he's not confident. He knows his own skills and he's confident enough to assure that he can win if he play, because he'd never stopped playing, he always watch the players in competitions and is still trying to improve his skills on his own.
But he's scared, scared if he happen to get the same attention again. Guess his fear hasn't healed yet even after so many years.
Taehyung gently held his hands, "I don't know if this can help you but I'll say this, if you don't want to do it, then it's fine. But if you want to do it, then just do it. It's never late to do something you want to do. But never let your fear take the thing you want away from you. And I'll support you in whatever you do. So just... just follow your heart and go for it."
"Do I really not want to do it? Or am I just scared?"
Jungkook stared at their hands holding together as he think again. He knew there're times when he felt like playing alone on his own wasn't enough for him, he surely wanted more of it. He wanted to play like the professional gamers, he knew it would be interesting to challenge and compete with other gamers. But his fear got him and he ended up doing something that could masked himself from what he feared instead, people. He of course did something he loves to do, raising a gaming company, because he thought being a CEO of a company would be easier for an only answer from his fear.
But those words from Taehyung really warmed his heart and somehow, it made him realize that, all these years, all he did was running away from his fear, but never thought of overcoming from it.
Taehyung told him to follow his heart. So what if, just what if he try it now? It's not that late yet to do it, right?
"I... I want to," he said it, a confidence clearly showing in his eyes after finally letting the word out from his mouth.
"I want to do it, hyung. I really want to. So help me. Help me overcome this fear."
Taehyung stared at Jungkook for a moment in silence before his eyes tear up hearing the younger. "Of course," he smiled with a nod.
"Hyungie," Jungkook saw the elder's smile at the name, "thank you."
"Why are you thanking me?" Taehyung ruffled his hair, smiling at the way the younger tilting his head to the touch, "do you know you're just like a puppy right now?"
"So I used to be a bunny, then a pig, and now, I'm a puppy? Is this your way of giving me nicknames? And why is everything only animal names? Are you opening an animal farm in this house?" Jungkook crossed his arms making the other burst into laugh.
"Aren't they cute tho? But out of all those, bunny suits you the most. You're my bunny," Taehyung laughed, stretching his arms to hug the younger but Jungkook just playfully slapped his hands away.
"Now that you gave me so many names, don't you think you should have an animal name too?" Jungkook grabbed the elder's wrist, "if I'm your bunny, then you're--" he paused to think for a moment, "--my bear."
"Why am I a bear?" Taehyung laughed when Jungkook lied down back on the bed pulling him along.
"Because you're like a baby bear," Jungkook heard the elder giggling in his arms when he nuzzle his nose on his neck. He paused to lift his head to look at him to ask, "what about you? You said you have a dream. What is it?"
"Hmm..." Taehyung brought his hand to play the younger's hair, "it's nothing special, you know it already. I wanted to live without being watched by my parents for every steps, because freedom was the only thing I could think of just so I can get out of that house and enjoy on my own."
Jungkook nodded, "but there has to be something you want to do besides that, am I right?"
"Well, to be honest," Taehyung sighed, biting his lip for a second before continuing, "I thought I would travel to different places and take picture of beautiful views," he laughed at his own words.
"Woah, that's cool."
"Hmm?" Taehyung looked at the younger, "cool? Isn't it just a silly thing?"
"Why? I think that's pretty cool. I mean, you like travelling, you like taking pictures too. You can even become a travel photographer."
Taehyung stayed silent for a moment as he stared at the younger, "but.. if I start traveling now, I won't be able to see you."
Jungkook kept staring at him, "so... are you saying you'll give up your dream? Because of me?"
"No. It's just that... traveling and taking picture makes me happy, but I feel more happier when I'm with you."
"You're the one who told me not to give up and do what I want. But look at you. You're not giving up something you like to do just because you won't be able to see me, are you?"
"Just because? Just because you say?" Taehyung snuggled out from his arm to sit up straight. "But you're more important to me. To see you, to stay with you, this is what I want to do now. Why don't you get it?"
Jungkook quickly got up to sit, panicking when he saw the tears in the elder's eyes, "hey, why are you crying over this? I'm sorry if I said something but I didn't mean to hurt you. I just want you to do the things you wanted, you even risked to marry a stranger like me just for your dreams, and I don't want you to give it up that easily because of me. You can still see me even if you do it so why--"
"But we have only one month left now."
Silence in the room. None of them say a word after Taehyung cut the younger off with the most unexpected and the most painful sentence.
That's right, they have only one month left to be with each other as per their deal, to be more accurate, it's less than a month.
Time can be surprisingly unfair sometimes. Three months used to sound like a long period when they first made the deal. But now, it feels like those three months is the shortest time they've ever lived.
It was long enough for two hearts to find their way to each other, but it's too short for them to beat together.
Is this really the end then?
It shouldn't be. Right?
One was worried if he would become the reason why Taehyung give up on his dreams, while the other just wished to spend more time with Jungkook while they still have time, just in case if they get separated, just in case if the other want to end their deal.
Eventhough neither of them know what the other wants, whether the other still want to continue their journey together even after their deal is over or not, they still have something that can help them, love.
They love each other, so wouldn't it be an enough reason for them to stay together?
"Don't you want us to be still together after this one month?" Jungkook asked in a low voice, looking at their holding hands, afraid to hear the answer.
"Why wouldn't I?"
He saw the tears rolling down on Taehyung's cheeks when he lift his head up, but he finally smiled when he knew the tear wasn't because of sadness anymore but happy tears. He tightened the grip in their hands, "then, let's be together," he wiped the tears from the elder's cheeks, "do you... want to forget about the deal we made?"
Taehyung chuckled in between his tears as he nod his head, "yeah. Let's pretend the deal never exists." He stared at their wedding ring on his finger, and then to Jungkook's ring that never left his finger, caressing it gently, "we... we're not getting divorced even after one month, right?"
Jungkook took a deep breath as he lean forward, "Never."
They smiled as their arms wrap around each other for a tight warm hug.
"I was scared."
Taehyung opened his almost closing eyes, "hmm?" He was about to drift into his sleep at the warmth from the younger.
"That you wouldn't want to be with me after our deal is over."
"Why won't I want to be with you? In fact, I was scared too, that if you would still want to be with me or not." He pulled away from their hug, frowning a little, "and didn't we already agreed to forget about it just now? Let's not talk about it again."
"Alright. But I was really scared."
"Stop it."
"I'm just letting you know how I felt."
"I already know."
"You already knew? How did you know?"
"Because I felt the same so I just know it?"
"Then give me my goodnight kiss."
"Now?"
"Yeah?"
"It's almost morning now. Sleep."
"You can still give me one before sleeping."
"Why are you still annoying?"
"I'm not."
"You are."
"But I just--"
"Do you want to renew the deal?"
"No thank you."
"Then shut up and sleep."
"Ok. Goodnight my baby bear, my baby hyung."
"Ugh! I hate you."
"Ok. If you hate me, let's renew the deal."
"Goodnight bunny."
And thus, this is how Jungkook finally won their little fight and left Taehyung flustered in blushed cheeks when he pampered him with little butterfly kisses all over his face before drifting to their sleep.
