Louis was taken aback, his gaze darkening as he looked at her. 'Since when did she get so good at comebacks?' he thought.
After casting a glance at the dumbfounded Vance, Louis rose to his feet and strode out, but not before grabbing Georgia by the wrist and dragging her along.
Louis, taking long, forceful strides, dragged Georgia along, making her stumble and struggle to keep up. He only stopped when they reached the intersection where she had seen Colin off the previous night. "Remember this: stay away from Colin. Don't say I didn't warn you!"
His threat hung in the air, and Georgia's anger only burned hotter.
She snapped at Louis, "Are you ever going to quit? I think I'm the one who should stay far away from you. You're practically engaged, yet you keep hounding me. Aren't you worried your sweetheart will get jealous and resort to her suicide theatrics again?"
Hearing this, Louis let go of Georgia's wrist. 'Hypocritical woman,' he thought. 'She's clearly jealous of Gemma, yet still pretends to want nothing to do with me?'
Louis's mood seemed to lighten considerably at this thought.
He said, "Gemma has always been so understanding—unlike you..."
'Gemma? Understanding?' A flash of hatred crossed Georgia's eyes, but she quickly composed herself.
"Mr. Rathbone," she said coolly, "I hope you never truly get to know the real her..."
Louis frowned slightly. "Do you have a grudge against Gemma?" he asked.
He hadn't missed that flash of hatred in her eyes.
"Exactly, the kind that won't end until one of us is dead. So, Mr. Rathbone, are you going to send your precious 'white moonlight' to finish me off now?" Without another glance at the stunned Louis, Georgia turned on her heel and headed home.
Louis stood in the pitch-black night for a long while, utterly baffled as to why Georgia would go out of her way to antagonize Gemma at every turn.
Just then, Louis's phone rang. Seeing Gemma's name flashing on the screen, he let out a frustrated sigh, declined the call, and slipped into his car.
As he drove home, Louis couldn't shake the image of that humble little house, or the bowl of handmade noodles Georgia had cooked for him.
"There was nothing fancy in those noodles," he thought, "but they were just the way I liked them." The best part? This was his exclusive privilege—something Colin never got to taste.
Thinking of this, Louis couldn't help but text Georgia: "Anyway, thanks for that bowl of noodles."
As soon as he hit send, a red exclamation mark appeared beside his message—message failed to send.
''Blocked?'' The word flashed through Louis's mind.
He immediately dialed Georgia's number, only to be met with a cold automated voice. "That woman actually blocked me?" he muttered in disbelief.
The next morning, the Rathbone Group was plunged into an Antarctic deep freeze.
Even Daniel, the undisputed king of office flattery, was buckling under the oppressive atmosphere.
Louis barked, "Take these to that woman—Georgia. If she refuses them, don't bother coming back!"
Daniel quickly gathered the documents from the desk and practically fled the boss's office. Only after he was safely outside did he finally wipe the sweat from his brow.
Daniel thought to himself, 'Is the boss on his period or something?'
In Caroline's office at the medical building.
A triumphant smile finally crept across her face as she watched the doctored video go viral online.
