Georgia's face was pale. Enduring excruciating pain, she silently packed up her acupuncture kit, ignoring the bloody mess on her hands.
She stood up, giving Louis a sharp glare while clutching her injured wrist, then turned to leave.
Louis's expression darkened; the anger he had just suppressed was reignited for no reason, making the atmosphere even colder.
When she saw Louis's sharp eyes filled with suppressed fury, Georgia's face paled further.
It was then that Louis noticed her unusually pale complexion, cold sweat even beading on her forehead, as if she was enduring intense pain.
"What's wrong with you?" Somehow, Louis suddenly asked.
"I'm fine, as long as Mr. Rathbone leaves me alone."
With that, Georgia stepped forward.
Louis wouldn't let her leave like this. He suddenly chased after her, grabbing her wrist, only to realize she seemed to be in even more pain. Hastily, he released her wrist and instead looped an arm around her, his gaze instantly darkening.
'Did she hurt her wrist? I had gripped it a bit forcefully earlier, but it shouldn't have caused injury. Damn it, how did she end up hurting her wrist?' he muttered inwardly.
"Get in the car!" His tone left no room for refusal.
Georgia looked up, seeing the man's cold, handsome face, her anger flaring again.
This jerk actually wanted her to apologize to Joel.
Her body instinctively resisted, and Louis instantly lost patience. He scooped her up, opened the car door, and tossed her inside.
Faced with Louis's violence, Georgia swallowed all her words, complaining this jerk was even more unbearable than before.
The car started moving, heading towards the hospital. Luckily, the competition venue was also in that direction, so she chose to remain silent.
Louis drove with a sullen face, and the two remained silent throughout the journey, the ambiance growing increasingly awkward.
This was the second time they had shared a car together, as if the three years they had been married had never included any private moments. Who would have thought they'd share a car twice after their divorce?
Back then, she only thought this man was quiet and elegant. But after that accident three years ago, he was forced to marry her, and ever since, he had treated her coldly.
Seeing the car pull into the hospital, Georgia could no longer suppress her anger. "Louis, let me out. No way I would apologize to Joel."
Seeing the woman in the passenger seat flailing about, Louis simply parked the car without a word.
Before Georgia could get out, Louis had already scooped her up again and strode towards the hospital.
Louis's actions once again infuriated Georgia, and she started yelling and flailing her arms. "Louis, you bastard, if you force me to apologize to Joel, I'll kill you."
At the same time, her hands went for his face, and instantly, a few red marks appeared on Louis's face.
Louis narrowed his sharp eyes, ignoring the woman clawing at him in his arms.
Instead of taking her to Louis's ward, he went straight to the orthopedic clinic.
Georgia was stunned but cooperated with the doctor's examination. The result: a severe fracture, requiring surgery and a steel plate.
"No way." Georgia didn't even think twice before rejecting outright.
"I know medical principles myself, just give me a painkiller shot. I've got something important to do."
"Miss Murray, your wrist injury is quite severe; it seems like it's been hurt multiple times before. I recommend surgery now..." the doctor advised hesitantly.
Louis's face darkened again at the words, his sharp gaze fixed on the stubborn Georgia. "Get her hospital admission papers ready."
"No, I'm not staying in the hospital!" Georgia refused, decisively.
Louis's expression turned icy, his usual indifferent eyes now fixing on the woman before him.
Georgia's heart skipped a beat, and she softened her tone. "I need to attend a competition, and I'll be late if I don't hurry."
"What competition?" Louis frowned.
In the three years of their marriage, she had always stayed at home as a wealthy socialite, and Louis couldn't recall her being good at anything.
"The National Nursing and Medicine Championship."
Hearing this, Louis sneered, "You're risking your arm for some competition like that?"
