Catching disdain in Louis's tone, Georgia immediately stood up. "Although this competition means nothing to you, it's a belief I've held onto for a long time.
"Thank you, Mr. Rathbone, for taking me to the hospital. I won't take up any more of your time."
Hearing Georgia's words, Louis seemed to be hit with a wave of irritation, his face turning even darker.
He suddenly pushed Georgia back into the chair and turned to give a cold order. "Give her the painkiller shot."
Not expecting him to suddenly agree with her, Georgia was momentarily stunned. This was the first time they had been this close since they met.
Seeing the doubt in Georgia's eyes, Louis turned away awkwardly.
A nurse wheeled in a medical cart, and Georgia felt a bit awkward.
She was wearing a blouse today, and to get the painkiller shot, she'd have to unbutton and take off one sleeve.
The nurse glanced at Louis, knowing full well that the big boss only had eyes for Gemma. Yet he was here with Georgia now.
After a long while, seeing no sign of Louis leaving, the nurse understood and helped Georgia unbutton and remove one sleeve.
Seeing Louis still standing there, Georgia snapped bluntly, "What are you looking at?"
As her slender neck and delicate collarbone were exposed, along with a fragrant shoulder and a fair arm, Louis's Adam's apple bobbed a few times, and he quickly turned around, his body tense.
"I've seen it all before!" Louis's voice came through, unapologetically.
'Who'd even want to see it, anyway? Three years ago, I'd seen it all—and not just seen, but touched too,' he thought to himself.
Even after he turned around, the vivid image of that scene lingered in Louis's mind.
After the injection, the nurse carefully bandaged Georgia's wrist and hung it around her neck.
By the time Georgia left the hospital, Louis was already waiting downstairs in the car.
"Get in, I'll take you to the competition," he offered.
Seeing it was almost 9 o'clock, Georgia didn't hesitate and got into the car.
At 9:30, they arrived at the venue. As the car slowed down, Georgia couldn't wait to open the door and run inside.
Little did she know, Saylor Hospital was already in chaos.
Early in the morning, the President himself had carried Georgia to the hospital and personally escorted her to the competition, sparking rumors of a possible reconciliation.
This was a disaster for Gemma, who had finally waited for the divorce, only for the two to be together again so soon.
She smashed everything breakable in her office, venting her frustration before immediately dialing Noelle's number. "Noelle, no matter what, you have to win this competition. You must crush that bitch!"
On the other hand, unaware of the drama, Georgia arrived at the competition venue with her arm bandaged.
The staff, out of sympathy, still allowed her to enter.
When she entered the waiting room, the place was already packed with competitors.
Then, she saw the text message on her phone. Her number was 12.
The 9th contestant was currently performing.
Noelle's number was right before hers, 11.
In the lounge, a group of people were gathered around Noelle, basking in her presence as if she were a celestial being surrounded by a constellation of admirers.
"Dr. Faulkner, we've heard so much about your nationally renowned therapy. The first place today is definitely yours."
"Yeah, Dr. Faulkner, at such a young age, you've achieved so much, and all through self-study, too. If there's anyone I truly admire, it's you."
"Totally. I've studied traditional medicine for twelve years and only scratched the surface. You, twenty years younger, have created the Art of 24 Needles. Ever since three years ago, you've been my idol."
Hearing everyone's praise, Noelle maintained a humble and calm demeanor, though inwardly she was elated.
"Actually, you're all not bad, just lacking an opportunity. Medicine has no limits; I believe you'll all do even better," Noelle replied, faking a smile.
"Wow, Dr. Faulkner truly is beautiful inside and out; her grace even surpasses us old-timers in the nursing profession."
Noelle smiled at the compliment. "Actually, my level is just average; not being eliminated is a blessing.
"The thing is, Georgia is also competing today, and her therapies are really strong."
Hearing this, everyone immediately expressed their disbelief.
