Meanwhile, Gemma burst into laughter after seeing a text message on her phone.
There was no way she'd let Georgia steal the spotlight.
Suddenly, Noelle shouted excitedly, "Dr. Kirkland, look! Someone online just exposed that Georgia plagiarized."
Gemma laughed out loud. "Idiot, I knew that already. This is perfect timing. Georgia, you're done for this time.
"I'll arrange for a massive army of trolls to push this news to the trending list right away."
Noelle's smug smile widened when she heard this, but she was also curious. "With all the noise online, why hasn't Georgie come out to testify against her?"
Gemma glanced at Noelle disdainfully from her chair, wondering how this dimwit ever managed to outshine Georgia back then.
"Don't you suspect that Georgia herself is Georgie?" she asked.
Sure enough, Noelle's face turned ghostly pale.
'If Georgia is Georgie, then...' Noelle started to panic.
Seeing Noelle scared out of her wits, Gemma sneered, "Such a coward.
"Relax, I've already checked. The author of On Traditional Medicine Acupuncture used the pen name Georgie. But back then, she didn't sign the contract with her real name.
"According to the publisher, Georgie wasn't 18 yet, so she couldn't sign. Later, Georgie never contacted them again, as if she had vanished from the face of the earth.
"Judging by age, Georgie could very well be Georgia.
"But if Georgie really was Georgia, that old hag Lila Dutton wouldn't be so desperate to pull strings and suppress the news."
Gemma was puzzled.
After a long while, she looked at the overly nervous Noelle and said slowly, "But don't worry. Just get ready for the finals.
"No matter who Georgie really is, I'll make sure she is you."
With that, Gemma smirked triumphantly.
Noelle didn't catch on immediately, but when she saw Gemma so confident, it finally clicked.
'Since Georgie published 'On Traditional Medicine Acupuncture' before turning 18, my age fits...
'The author never signed a contract, so whoever signed now owns it.' Thinking of this, Noelle became instantly excited.
"But we don't know the original number of 'On Traditional Medicine Acupuncture'. How can we sign without the number?" she asked.
Gemma raised an eyebrow, replying, "That's not your concern."
She had already assigned this task to Victor yesterday. By now, Georgia should be back at the Murray family.
As Gemma expected, Georgia arrived at the Murray family's villa.
She was about to get in, but was stopped by someone at the door.
"Oh my... isn't this Miss Georgia Murray?" the maid, Roberta Coleman, said sarcastically.
Georgia ignored her and headed straight into the villa.
But she was blocked again.
"Did I say you could go in?" Roberta asked.
Georgia's eyes turned cold. "Get out of the way!"
Of course, she knew Roberta, a distant relative of Victor's wife.
Ever since her uncle Victor kicked her dad out, her Aunt Priscilla hired a distant relative, Roberta, to work as a maid in the villa.
Priscilla originated from humble beginnings, and Roberta, in particular, exuded a distinct air of shrewishness.
Surprised by Georgia's rudeness, Roberta blocked the doorway entirely with her stout body.
"Just a stray dog. What's there to be arrogant about?" she mocked.
Hearing Roberta's voice, another young maid walked over, and upon seeing Georgia, couldn't help but sneer, "Isn't this Georgia, who always likes to climb into men's beds and always gets taken advantage of?
"How could she compare to our Cora. You know, both being daughters of the Murray family, how can the difference be so huge?"
Hearing this, Georgia glanced at the young maid, her red lips curling slightly.
She had no grudge against this young maid, so the fact that the maid could say such things must be due to Cora's instructions.
It seemed like Cora was trying to show her who the boss was.
"Clearly, those from humble backgrounds just can't make the cut. Elena is nothing but a gold-digger clinging to power and wealth, so it's no surprise her daughter is such a disgrace."
Roberta spoke without any restraint, not concerned at all about Georgia. After all, with her divorce from the Rathbone family and no backing to speak of, Georgia had already lost her position at Murray Group. There was nothing she could possibly rely on.
Georgia raised her eyes, meeting Roberta's gaze, and seeing the disdain in her eyes, she couldn't help but raise her hand and slap Roberta across the face.
"Ah!" Roberta fell to the ground, shocked that such a wretch dared to hit her.
"How dare you?! You're not stepping through this door today!" Roberta was convinced that Georgia was here to beg the Murray family for shelter; otherwise, where would a divorced woman like her find a place to stay?
Hearing her, Georgia only sneered, "Fine. I won't go in. Just don't regret it."
With that, she turned and left.
Watching Georgia's retreating back, Roberta yelled like a shrew, "Regret? The one who'll regret is you! Dream on about stepping into the Murray family's door!"
