Back at the Murray villa, Priscilla rushed straight into the kitchen, clearly wanting to avoid Georgia.
Georgia sat in the living room with Victor and Cora, chatting idly. Just then, her phone suddenly rang.
As soon as the call connected, Lila's loud voice blasted from the speaker. "Georgia! Have you seen the news online?
"Be honest with me, do you know the author of On Traditional Medicine Acupuncture, Georgie?"
Victor and Cora exchanged a look, then both leaned closer to Georgia to listen in.
"Yeah, I know her. Why, Lila?" Georgia replied casually.
Lila said, "Georgia, how could you be so careless? Plagiarism is a huge deal. How could you do something like that?
"You're still young, you've got a long life ahead of you. Why would you make such a mistake? Forget it, the only thing you can do now is figure out how to get the trending post taken down."
Georgia didn't miss the gloating expressions on Victor and Cora's faces. She frowned slightly. "I plagiarized?"
Lila pressed. "Don't you know what you did? Isn't your Art of 72 Needles taken straight from On Traditional Medicine Acupuncture?"
"Uh, yeah, it is." Georgia admitted.
Lila said loudly, "Then how is that not plagiarism? I can't believe this. You're a grown woman, how do you not understand such basic common sense—"
Georgia cut in, "Lila, I am Georgie."
Lila sputtered, "You didn't… what?!" She jumped up in shock.
Even Victor and Cora, sitting there in the living room, were stunned.
Lila stammered, "Wh-what did you say? Say that again?"
Seeing the disbelief in Victor and Cora's eyes and hearing Lila's voice trembling over the phone, Georgia curved her lips into a faint smirk and enunciated clearly, "I. Am. Georgie."
"I knew it. I knew you're the best," Lila screamed, hopping in place. "You're my goddess, you know that? I'm gonna post a comment right now and roast these clueless trolls."
Georgia chuckled softly. "Lila, do you really think about how fast this news is spreading online? You alone can drown out the comments?"
Her words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly putting out Lila's excitement. Lila asked, "Then what do we do? We just sit back and let these trolls keep talking?"
Georgia replied, "Lila, your level's way too low for this. Think about it—the finals are in three days.
"With this kind of buzz online, wouldn't it be way more satisfying if I showed up and slapped them all in the face at the competition?"
Lila laughed so hard her mouth practically split. "Georgia, you've gotten sneaky. Want me to go online and join the haters, stir things up for you?"
Georgia grinned. "I'm not paying you for it anyway."
After hanging up, Victor and Cora were still sitting so close they were practically leaning on her, exchanging glances with some deeper meaning.
"Something you two want?" Georgia asked.
They quickly shook their heads, looking guilty. "No, nothing at all."
Georgia casually set her phone on the coffee table. "You guys keep talking. I'm going to the bathroom."
As soon as Georgia walked into the bathroom, Cora grabbed her phone in anger, ready to smash it.
Cora snapped, "Why? Why is that bitch so lucky? Why does she get to be Princess Georgie?"
Victor was just as shaken. He never expected the niece he always looked down on to have such astonishing talent in medicine.
It seemed Gemma's worries weren't unfounded after all.
Just as Cora was about to throw the phone, she noticed the screen was still lit. The display was on the author backend of On Traditional Medicine Acupuncture.
