Instantly, her heart started pounding. Remembering why Gemma had asked her Dad to bring Georgia home, Cora quickly snapped a photo of the author ID and the login credentials.
When Georgia walked out of the bathroom, Victor and Cora were sitting smugly on the couch.
Priscilla stood in the middle of the living room with her hands on her hips. "You little tramp! You think you can act all high and mighty in this house? Get out of here! Just seeing your face brings bad luck."
"You're nothing but trash left behind by a few men. You've got no shame being alive. From now on, don't even think of calling yourself part of this family. I don't want you ruining Cora's future."
"What the hell is all this noise about?" Pansy stepped out of her room, frowning as she scolded Priscilla. "Look at you, making a scene over nothing. Pathetic."
After Pansy sat down, she opened her mouth slowly and said with clear disappointment, "You've been married to Victor for so many years, and you still can't handle a thing. Can't even take care of something so small."
Priscilla shot back, "Mom, how can you say that? The Murray Group wouldn't be where it is today if it weren't for support from my side of the family."
Pansy rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed. 'This daughter-in-law still can't read the room.'
"Just shut up!" Pansy snapped.
Priscilla clamped her mouth shut reluctantly. Pansy turned to Georgia with a warm smile. But Georgia knew just how fake that smile really was.
Pansy said gently, "Georgia, you see what's happened. This home used to be peaceful. The moment you come back, it's been nothing but chaos."
Georgia curled her lips. 'Of course, she is the same biased grandmother. So this her way of telling me to leave?'
Thinking that, Georgia replied, "Yeah. If I remember right, this villa was bought by my mom and dad together. My dad was being filial, so he brought you here. But who'd have thought? The moment you showed up, our family fell apart."
Pansy's face went pale with rage. Back when she first moved in, it was the first time she met Elena. Even though Elena was just an orphan, there was something naturally noble in her that made Pansy feel inferior.
Therefore, Pansy had always hated Elena's elegance and grace, and now she hated seeing Georgia becoming more and more like her.
Seeing Georgia no longer showed her the slightest respect, Pansy demanded, "Georgia! Is this how your mother raised you—to disrespect your elders?"
Georgia smiled. "Elders? When you forced my dad to let Uncle take over the Murray Group, was that what an elder does? Both are your sons, and yet you gave my dad's company to Uncle. I haven't seen you crying about getting my dad back in charge."
"When my dad was demoted to janitor by Cora and humiliated by the employees, where were you, this so-called elder, to speak up for him?"
Pansy was stunned by the questions. She replied, "Your dad isn't even in the same league as your uncle.
"He lost the CEO position because he's incompetent. And more than that—because you offended the Rathbone family."
Georgia's eyes narrowed. She still underestimated just how shameless this family could be.
"Fine. Since Grandma put it that way, I'll leave," Georgia said, grabbing her phone and bag.
She walked to the door, but just before stepping out, she stopped and looked back. "Enjoy everything you have while it lasts. I'll be back very soon."
With that, Georgia walked out.
Right after she left, Pansy slammed her cup onto the floor. "Cora! You're just going to let that little tramp walk out of here like that, acting so smug?"
Cora replied, her eyes burned with hatred, "Don't worry, Grandma. Just wait a few days and you'll see her completely ruined."
