The statement from Saylor Hospital hit Lila like a slap in the face, jolting her back to reality. People were chattering away online.
starryskye: [Holy shit, did Georgia really plagiarize?]
Bloomtechsolutions: [Plagiarizing is bad enough, but trying to steal Georgie's identity too? That's ridiculous.]
cafe.con.chic: [Eww, never seen anyone so disgusting. What did Miss Faulkner ever do to her? She's clearly targeting her.]
marmar_moda: [I mean, how can such a bitch get to enter a national competition?]
wander.wines: [Yeah! Bitch Georgia should be kicked out of the finals.]
Azureglow: [I'm in!]
Ivory.lux: [Add my vote to that!]
Petal.whispers: [Count me in! Kick bitch Georgia out of the finals. Get out of medicine!]
In front of the Saylor's entrance, a group of troublemakers stood there. "Kick bitch Georgia out of the finals. Get out of medicine!" everyone yelled in unison.
In the office, Gemma curled her lips in satisfaction as she watched the enraged crowd in front of the hospital and the online tirades against Georgia.
'Perfect. With the trolls leading the charge, the situation was unfolding exactly as I'd planned,' she thought.
Meanwhile, Lila was so angry that she wanted to smash her phone. "Such a bastard! Utter bastard! How could Noelle do something so shameless?"
She knew exactly what Noelle was capable of—no way was she Georgie. 'But if Noelle had stolen Georgia's author ID, then what Georgia gonna do?' she mused.
Confused by the thought, Lila quickly dialed Georgia's number. "Georgia. Did Noelle steal your author ID?"
Georgia had just finished removing the silver needles from Phillip. "Lila? What's going on?" she asked, confused.
"The sky's falling, and you had no idea? Seriously, I don't even know what to say. Noelle stole your author ID and signed the Georgie pen name as herself," Lida explained.
Hearing this, Georgia immediately picked up her phone, and sure enough, it was true.
"See? What are you gonna do next?" Lila asked anxiously.
Georgia answered calmly, "What can I do? Wait for the finals, I suppose."
Hearing Georgia's words, Lila's short fuse ignited again. "The finals? You step outside now and you'll be drowned in spit.
"Just, when you get home tonight, stay inside for the next few days. Let this die down before you make a move. I told you not to come back to medicine, but did you listen? Look at this mess."
After hanging up, Georgia slowly wrapped her needles.
"Those clowns have been jumping around long enough. If I were you, I'd have dealt with them ages ago," Phillip snorted, eyeing her.
Georgia just curved her lips into a smile. She thought, 'Of course I will, and everything is under my control.
'Since someone is actively asking for trouble, why should I hold back? When I make a move, there will definitely be bloodshed.'
Seeing her seemingly indifferent demeanor only frustrated Phillip more. 'Damn it, why did she end up with Vance's useless temperament?' he mused.
Phillip snapped, "They're stepping all over you, and you still don't know how to fight back?"
At his words, Georgia's smile deepened. "Seems like Mr. Crawford has a lot of faith in me."
A flicker of awkwardness flashed across Phillip's face. Georgia quickly added, "Don't worry, Mr. Crawford. I got a plan."
"Your plan is to get yourself ruined and run out of town on a rail?" Phillip retorted, feeling exasperated himself.
Seeing Phillip's irritated expression, Georgia smiled again. "Mr. Crawford, I really do have a solution, but—"
"But what?" Phillip asked anxiously.
Seeing how anxious Phillip was, Georgia continued, "I need your help on the day of the finals."
Looking into Georgia's bright eyes, Phillip set aside his earlier worries and said bluntly, "So, you little brat, you've just been using me all along?"
Seeing he wasn't truly angry, Georgia darted to his bedside, grabbing his hands with an ingratiating smile. "Not using, Mr. Crawford. I did genuinely cure you."
"Alright. You've got some nerve, I'll give you that. Tomorrow's the finals—what do you want me to do?" Phillip asked.
Georgia smiled softly. "Mr. Crawford—"
"What Mr. Crawford? Phillip! Call me Phillip," he cut in.
"Phillip," Georgia conceded, then leaned close to his ear and whispered her plan.
Georgia settled Phillip in and walked out of the room. She hadn't even reached the main lobby doors of the hospital when the angry chants from outside grew louder.
"Bitch Georgia, get the hell out here!" someone yelled.
"Yeah! Come out and answer what you did to Noelle," another echoed.
Hearing the voice, she looked over and saw a crowd of outraged people had gathered outside the hospital—she had no idea when they'd shown up.
She thought coldly, 'They sure move fast—got those troublemakers organized so quick.'
Before she could step through the hospital gate, someone in the crowd yelled, "Look! She is coming out!"
Instantly, the crowd surged towards the hospital entrance. "Georgia Murray must be kicked out! Get out of medicine!" They shouted it in unison, over and over again.
The troublemakers acted as if Georgia had personally wronged each of them, seeming desperate to crush her into the dirt and bury her forever.
Then, plastic water bottles started flying from the crowd, aimed straight at Georgia's face.
"Screw you, bitch! Always picking on our Noelle! Trying to steal her pen name, huh? Take this, you slut!" someone yelled.
"Son of a bitch! Only good for spreading your legs to men, and now you plagiarize too? Damn bitch!" another shouted.
A wave of vile curses washed over Georgia. The twisted, ugly faces spat the world's foulest language at her.
It felt like being thrown back three years, a month after she and Louis had that accident. She'd had the same kind of violence then, too.
Georgia's eyes turned icy. 'Everything I suffer today, I will repay every single one of them,' she sneered inwardly.
Thud! Sharp pain exploded on her forehead. Amidst the flurry of bottles, someone had thrown a rock. Blood instantly streamed down her face.
The sight of blood only enraged them further. Like wolves spotting weakened prey, they lunged towards Georgia.
Just then, a low-key yet luxurious Maybach skidded to a stop in front of her. The window slid down, revealing Louis's grim face. "Get in!" he commanded.
