Georgia shoved Anna aside, her face red with rage, and stormed toward the ER.
Anna stumbled, thrown off. 'What's up with this chick today? Got the nerve to come at me?'
Glaring at Georgia's back, Anna's eyes burned with spite. 'You're gonna pay.'
Inside, Gemma threw herself into Louis's arms, her back to the door, voice dripping with fake tears. "Louis, I can't do this anymore. Without you, I'm falling apart…"
She shot Georgia a smug, taunting smirk.
Seeing Gemma again made Georgia's stomach turn. 'What kind of messed-up taste does Louis have to fall for this fake drama queen?'
And to think she'd been dumb enough to care about a guy with such bad judgment.
"If you're so done, there's a window right there," Georgia said, arms crossed, leaning against the doorframe with a grin. "Save us all from your five hundred seventy-third pity party."
Gemma was a snake who played the sweet bunny act—total Hollywood material gone to waste.
Louis eased Gemma off him, his voice ice-cold. "Georgia, you're out of line."
His sharp stare hit her. 'So this is the real her, huh? Dropping the nice-girl act?'
Back in the day, Georgia wouldn't have dared take on Gemma or piss off CEO Louis.
But now, Georgia scoffed, eyeing the faint scratch on Gemma's wrist before meeting Louis's angry glare.
"Out of line?" she echoed. "She's the one faking a suicide. Did I twist her arm? Good thing you swooped in, big shot, or that 'desperate' cut would've healed in ten minutes."
Gemma kept up her innocent act, voice soft and sad. "Georgia, I know you're mad about… yesterday. So you're here to rub it in, huh?"
Georgia laughed sharply. "Gemma, get over yourself. You think I'd waste my time on you? If that blind idiot hadn't dragged me here, seeing your fake face would make me puke up last night's pizza."
Gemma's face paled, and Louis grabbed Georgia's wrist, his voice low and dangerous. "Georgia!"
"What's with the grip? Defending the homewrecker now? Louis, you're such a jerk."
Georgia kicked at him, squirming, but to Gemma, it looked like flirty nonsense.
Her nails dug into her palms, her delicate face trembling like she'd caught her man cheating.
"You two…" Gemma whimpered, her voice all betrayal.
Louis snapped out of it at her pathetic tone. "Gemma, rest. I need a word with her."
"What can't she hear?" Georgia snapped, but Louis dragged her out.
"Louis, you got a problem or what?" she blurted out. " What's with the manhandling? You used to freak if I touched your sleeve. Now you're all grabby—gonna burn your hands off next? You and that fake in there are perfect for each other. Both full of it."
Louis pinned her against the wall, eyes like ice. "Fake? You're the queen of that. Handing me divorce papers like you're walking away clean, then getting Grandma to pull that 'I'll die if you split' stunt."
Georgia's eyes blazed. "Louis, with all your power, you can't figure out what went down yesterday? You never trusted me, never gave me a chance to explain. I'm done. If our marriage three years ago was a mistake, I'm cutting my losses."
She leaned in, voice firm. "I'm over you, Louis. The Georgia who loved you? She's gone."
She yanked her arm free and strode off, head high.
For the first time, Louis watched her go, her eyes no longer soft with love but sharp with fire.
His jaw clenched. 'Three years ago, she wanted to get hitched, so I did. Now she wants out, and I'm supposed to just go along?'
If she started this, he'd end it.
Back in the room, Gemma's smug grin over the divorce talk faded when Louis didn't agree. Her heart sank.
'Damn Georgia.' A dark glint flashed in her eyes as she fired off a text.
In the hospital lobby, a receptionist stopped Georgia, her tone dripping with shade. "Ms. Murray, Mr. Samuel Maxwell called. Said if you want your job back, meet him at the Krylin Hotel, Room 416."
The receptionist turned away, acting like Georgia was air.
Everybody was buzzing about yesterday's drama with Sam. The receptionist couldn't help but think, 'Man, he's still hung up on her—why else would he be camped out at that hotel?'
