'I haven't done anything wrong lately, right?' Felix gripped the wheel, nervous and confused.
After wiping the rain off her body, Georgia picked up the hairdryer and started drying her hair.
A faint fragrance quickly filled the car. Trying to ease the awkwardness, Felix smiled and said, "Ms. Murray, what brand of shampoo do you use? It smells pretty good."
Thinking of the towel and hairdryer Felix had just found for her, Georgia smiled. "Really? It's women's shampoo. I'll get a bottle for your girlfriend sometime."
Felix replied, "Ms. Murray, you're too kind, but I don't have a girlfriend."
Watching them laugh and chat while the gentle scent filled the air, the pressure around Louis dropped several degrees. His irritation returned.
Louis glanced sideways at the woman drying her hair. Her soaked clothes clung to every curve of her body, and that delicate scent from her hair drifted into the air.
His throat bobbed twice before Louis could stop it. Right then, he really wanted to kick Felix out of the car.
Sensing Louis's intense stare, Georgia turned her head and looked at him. Louis was staring at her without blinking.
"What is it?" Georgia asked, puzzled.
Louis awkwardly sat up straighter, his eyes dropping back to the file in his hands. A strange feeling hit him, like he'd just been caught red-handed.
Felix frowned slightly. 'What's going on with Mr. Rathbone today? Since Ms. Murray got in the car, he had been looking at the same page without flipping it once.'
As someone who's been single since birth for twenty-four years, Felix couldn't make sense of this at all.
For some reason, Louis felt hot and stifled. He was just about to tell Felix to turn on the AC, but thinking about Georgia being soaked to the skin, he held back.
Suddenly, the car stopped, and the door was pulled open from outside. "Louis, thank you for coming all the way to pick me up."
As soon as the words left her mouth, Gemma stood frozen under Daniel's umbrella. Panic washed over her. 'Why?'
Her eyes could've sparked flames. Gemma asked, "Georgia, why are you here?"
Gemma snapped, 'They're already divorced. Why is Louis still helping her? Georgia, that bitch, was already disgraced beyond repair. Why are they still tangled up after the divorce?'
Jealousy surged inside Gemma. She thought, 'No, I won't allow it. I'll never let her stay in Louis's life.'
"Just a coincidence," Georgia said with a mocking smile.
Gemma slid into the front seat angrily and, while Louis wasn't looking, shot Georgia a fierce glare.
The moment Gemma got in, that same fragrance hit her. Rage built in her chest. 'Is this bitch trying to seduce Louis?'
After calming down, Gemma glanced back at Georgia's drenched outfit and smiled sweetly at Louis. "Louis, I already bought the gifts for my parents for this weekend. Want to check if I missed anything?"
Georgia's hand paused mid-air with the hairdryer. In the three years of their marriage, Louis had never once visited her dad.
In fact, Louis had gone out of his way to crush him in business, forcing the founder of the Murray Group to end up as a janitor.
But when it came to his true love Gemma, Louis supported the Kirkland Group in business and helped them dominate the fashion industry. Now he was even planning to visit her parents over the weekend with gifts in hand.
