Caroline fumed silently.
'Sure, three years ago Georgia was the queen bee of Journ City's medical scene. But now? Haha! She can't even get through Saylor Hospital's front gates. What do I have to fear from her?'
After saying goodbye to Cedric, Georgia had barely set foot inside the home when she got a call from Caroline's secretary, telling her she'd been sent a VIP invitation to the upcoming launch auction.
She just happened to run into Caroline today, and then got her special invitation right after. She wondered how much of this was actually Gemma's doing.
Thinking of this, Georgia curled her red lips into a mocking smile.
Another one was setting themselves up for a fall.
Georgia sneered coldly and shot back, "No. Not interested!"
After hanging up, she strode into her bedroom, swiftly pulled out a pen and paper, and began sketching intently.
Next month's Wedding Expo on the 8th also marks Gemma and Louis's engagement day. She had to stay tuned for the drama.
Hearing Kendall's words, Caroline shrieked in disbelief
"What? She actually dared to refuse? She's really got some nerve!"
Kendall wore an expression of utter disbelief. Given Georgia's tarnished reputation, offering her such a rare opportunity was already more than she could hope for. Anyone else would be falling over themselves with gratitude. No one would have thought Georgia'd actually turn it down.
Furious, Caroline swept all the files off her desk in a rage. She had confidently boasted to her husband, Simon, that this event would be a standing-room-only success. How dare Georgia refuse to come?
At this thought, Caroline immediately called Gemma.
After explaining the situation, Gemma proposed a rather cunning solution.
After a good night's rest, Georgia was back at full strength the next day.
Upon arriving at the Royal Dawn Sanatorium, the director, Henry Wallace bustled over with a big smile to greet her.
"Dr. Murray, you're finally here! Come on, let me show you around the center first, then I'll introduce you to some of our distinguished guests," Henry said enthusiastically.
"This will be your office," he said, gesturing. "It used to belong to Ms. Faulkner. From now on, this is where you'll work!"
Henry gave Georgia a very thorough introduction, spending a full hour explaining everything, clearly worried that she might miss something or not fully understand.
As she stepped into the lobby, all the staff at that sanatorium were in the middle of their weekly meeting when, all of a sudden, the sharp click-clack of high heels echoed across the floor.
Georgia had just settled into the chair Henry brought over for her and was poring over Phillip's medical records when, all of a sudden, a startled cry rang out.
"Look! That's Dr. Caroline Hutchinson, the national medical expert!"
Hearing this, Georgia lifted her gaze to see Caroline sweeping into the lobby, her entire research team in tow.
Georgia sneered to herself, 'Oh, coming in person so soon? How desperate.'
Her lips curved into a cold, knowing smile.
The medical staff who had been in the meeting instantly swarmed over. As healthcare professionals, they all looked up to those renowned authorities in medicine.
Besides, all the medications at their sanatorium were supplied by the Kemp family, which gave them even more reason to be enthusiastic.
"Dr. Hutchinson, what brings such an esteemed and busy expert like yourself to our humble center today?"
"Every minute you're away from your research, countless patients across the nation must be suffering longer!"
"Dr. Hutchinson, I managed to snag a ticket to your special-effect drug auction. I can't wait to see what you'll unveil this year!"
Caroline basked in the flattery, but without lingering, she made her way toward Georgia.
"I'm here specifically to see Dr. Murray today," she announced.
At her words, the crowd exchanged uneasy glances, clearly taken aback.
Though none of the staff had witnessed the complicated history between Caroline and Georgia three years ago firsthand, they'd all heard the stories.
