All is Found - Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Being home is honestly the best feeling in the world. I love being back in my own bed, well for most of the nights. Even the nights I spend at Thea's are wonderful. Thea. We have gotten back into a grove like we had before I went away on tour. Alternating nights spent at each other's houses, date nights, another 24 hours in bed day when Nikki went to NYC for the day to visit some friends.
I also finally got to meet my therapist for the first time in person which was an experience. Doctor Blake and I get along very well with each other. She has definitely helped me cope with my nightmares that have been starting to come back. I don't know why they are starting again but they need to stop. We have made some progress but I had one last night about Asher and Ashley from the night they died.
Nikki has been great. We have been making music together and the new songs have come out great. It's been nice to have someone living with me again. Nikki and I get along so well together she really is like having another younger sister. She got over the whole I can see dead people thing quick and it made me happy to know I can have conversations with Asher and Ashley while she is here.
Pat has enjoyed having Nikki around too. She has come to one of our brunch's at Hatch and needless to say one of the waiters had to call us a cab because of how drunk we were. Pat and I have also visited Ed. We actually spent the day in the cemetery with him this past week. Ed was actually there with us too for a while. He sat close with Pat and I talked with him for a while. Pat was happy to know he was at peace and his spirit is close by.
Since I'm continuing on with the tour with Halsey, her label extended my contract and are going to release the next EP of songs. I still don't want to make an album yet so I'm going with another EP, maybe two if I have enough songs for it. Diego has been lending a hand with the drums and Eli with some production and I've been pumping out songs. I've even pulled a few all-nighters because I needed to finish the song. I have some new material to play for the Europe dates and I'm excited for fans to hear it.
Today I'm hoping to go out with Thea since it has been six months since we've met. She is working a day tour today and should be getting off around 5 as long as nothing goes wrong. Her last couple of tours have been rough. She is working on a joint task force gang unit case with the Boston Police Department and it has taken a lot out of her. I'm hoping to cheer her up tonight with some drinks and dinner.
My phone started ringing on the coffee table and I reached over to grab it. Nikki is sitting next to me on the couch and she turned her head away from the TV.
"Is that your lover?" Nikki asked and wiggled her eyebrows.
"Shut up! Hello?" I said and picked up the phone giggling.
"Hi honey." Thea said. Something in the tone of her voice is off.
"Are you okay Thea?" I asked and sat up straighter on the couch.
"Uhm I'm going to go with yes but the doctor is making me call you to release me from the hospital." Thea said.
"Themis what is going on?" I asked and got up off the couch to get my shoes.
"Can you just come pick me up from the Beverly hospital please? I'll explain it all when you get here." Thea said defeated.
"I'll be there soon." I said and grabbed my bag and hung up the phone.
"What happened?" Nikki asked concerned.
"I don't know but if she isn't already almost dying, she's about to be." I said as I grabbed my keys and stormed out the door.
The drive to Beverly Hospital wasn't long. I think I even past the location of the latest raid on my way there. Once I parked I stormed into the ER and started looking around the beds.
"Themis Ramsey?" I asked one of the nurses walking past me.
"Sergeant Ramsey is right this way Ms. Monroe, just follow me." She said and led me down the hall to a private room and my stomach dropped.
Why would she be in a private room if I was coming to get her? The nurse pushed the door open and I found my girlfriend on the bed with her arm in a sling and a nice new bruise on her temple.
"What the hell happened?" I asked taking her in. Thea opened her eyes and looked at me.
"You must be Ms. Monroe, it's nice to meet you, I'm the on call doctor who worked on your girlfriend." A man said coming to stand next to me.
"Are you okay?" I asked wanting answers.
"She has a bump on the head, some scrapes on her upper right arm and elbow and a sprained right wrist from the altercation. I'll let her explain what happened. Themis doesn't have a concussion but I would like you keep an eye on her for the next couple of days and help her keep the cuts along her arm clean. The wrist should heal up within a month, kept it wrapped up and iced and you should be good to go. The sling is to keep your arm in place to help with the healing of your cuts and you can ditch it once they start to scab over. If you start to not feel good, please don't hesitate to come back in and get check out. Whenever you're ready I have her discharge papers for you to sign and then she is free to go." The doctor said and left me the paper work.
I heard the two sets of footsteps leave the room as my eyes took in Thea. Her arm is all cut up and the bruise on her face looks like is going to be around for a while. I didn't know what to do with myself. I felt like I was going to throw up from how much getting that phone call upset me and seeing Thea this hurt.
"Baby come here." Thea said and held her uninjured arm to me. I walked over to her and sat down on the side of the bed. Her left arm wrapped around my waist and my hand cupped her cheek.
"Are you okay?" I asked trying to stop myself from crying.
"My arm hurts a bit and I have a raging headache right now but I'll be okay." Thea said and closed her eyes to my touch.
"What happened?" I asked not knowing if I want to hear.
"How about we get out of here first and then I'll tell you everything." Thea said as I lightly rubbed her cheek with my thumb.
"Okay" I said and nodded. I went to get up but Thea held me in place. The arm she had wrapped around my waist she brought up to my cheek and pulled me down to her. She gave me a sweet kiss and it quelled some of the fire within me.
When I backed away Thea let me go this time. I finished up the paperwork and brought it to the nurses station. The nurse who brought me to Thea's room followed me again with a wheelchair to help me with Thea. By the time we got back to her room Thea was already standing slipping her bloody dress shirt over her shoulders.
"Leave that off, you're going to mess up the patch job." I said and walked over to her to take it off. Thea rolled her eyes but handed me her shirt.
The nurse came more into the room and Thea took a seat in the chair without fighting us on it. I collected all of Thea's belongings and gave them to her to hold.
"Here are some bandages and ointment for the abrasions. Change them twice a day and let the wounds have some breathing time before you reapply. As for your wrist leave it wrapped up and only take it off for showers. You should be fine with ibuprofen for pain. If it starts to get worse though please come in." The nurse said and handed me the bag of bandages.
"Thank you" I said before looking around the room one more time to make sure that we had everything before we left.
The nurse wheeled Thea out of the room and I followed right beside. As we got closer to the door Thea reached out and took my hand. I smiled gave her hand a squeeze relieved that she is okay and we are leaving the hospital. As we got the to the door I heard a lot of clapping coming from outside.
"We had a hard time keeping them outside until your chief came by." The nurse said as the doors slid open. At least 100 officers were waiting for us as we got outside all cheering for Thea.
"Thanks guys." Thea said as they parted for us so we could get to my car.
When we got to my car Rory was waiting for us. He gave me a quick hug after I put everything in the car. One of Thea's friends helped her out of the wheelchair and she turned around to wave at everyone.
"It's like you're the celebrity." I chuckled.
"I'll leave that up to you babe." Thea said and carefully slid herself into the passenger seat. Once I closed the passenger door I turned to Rory.
"Will she be staying with you?" He asked.
"Yea if anybody wants to come and see her can you give me a heads up first? I don't really like it when people show up unannounced at my house." I said and watched as a lot of the officers started to disperse.
"Of course, if you need anything let me know. She might be a little shaken up right now so just be there for her." Rory said and patted my shoulder.
"Thanks Rory." I said and gave him a smile before I got into the car.
The drive back to my house was quiet. Thea just watched out the window and took everything in. When we got back to my house Nikki was waiting on the porch.
"We can go back to your house if you want." I said before even turning off my car.
"No it's okay, I rather be at your house right now." Thea said and unbuckled her seat beat. I turned the car off and got out. Nikki came off the porch and walked over to me.
"Is she okay?" Nikki asked.
"Yea, nothing major thank god. Can you give me a hand with stuff." I asked and opened the back door of the car.
Nikki grabbed all of Thea's stuff and I opened the passenger door. Thea got out of the car and I stood closely behind her as we walked into my house. I followed behind her as Thea went right upstairs to my bedroom. It took her a minute but once we got up the stairs she went right to my bedroom.
"Can you give me a hand please?" Thea asked and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Of course baby." I said and kissed her forehead.
I made quick work of her boots and then her dress pants. Her shirt was a bit harder to get off but once it was Thea settled into bed as I propped a pillow under her arm.
"I'll be right back; do you need anything?" I asked. Thea closed her eyes and shook her head no.
I left the door open and walked downstairs to get some ice, Advil and a bottle of water. When I walked back upstairs Thea was almost asleep. I felt bad for waking her up to take the medicine but it will help her sleep better. Once the pills were down, I placed the ice pack on her wrist and the other on her temple. It only took a few minutes after that for Thea to fall asleep. Once she was out I left my bedroom door open and walked back downstairs.
Nikki is pacing in the living room when I walked back downstairs. I sat down on the couch and took a deep breath.
"What happened?" Nikki asked.
"I have no idea, she told me she would tell me later and now she is passed out in my bed." I answered.
Nikki didn't say anything but sat down on the couch next to me and pulled me into her. She didn't say anything but held me close. I always knew that this was a possibility, to get a phone call saying that Thea was hurt or worse but I never thought it would be this soon. It scared the living day lights out of me and if Nikki wasn't holding me so tight, I would have fallen apart.
Slowly I pulled myself away from Nikki and looked at everything on the coffee table. I picked up Thea's uniform shirt. The right side of the shirt had a lot of blood stains on it. Thea's blood. I put it down in my lap and looked at her utility belt. Her service weapon is buckled inside its hostler and I pulled it out. The weight was familiar in my hand as I looked to make sure the safety is engaged. The safety was off so I quickly re-engaged it and left it out of the hostler.
I emptied the bag the nurse gave me onto the coffee table and looked everything over. She gave me enough to redress Thea's wounds for a few days and I made a mental note to go to the store to get some more tomorrow. How quick today turned upside-down.
