Both Kaira and Martha couldn’t help but stare at Bernie in mystification. They didn’t understand a thing from what she just said.
“Calling out to me? How?” Martha asked watching Bernie covering her ears.
“He won’t stop thinking about you, he wouldn’t stop calling out your name. It’s so disturbing Martha, I don’t know why I am hearing it” Bernie tried to explain but she couldn’t come up with something better, she herself did not understand what is happening.
Martha glanced at Kaira then at Bernie. What does that even mean? Who could be calling out to her? For what reason? Could it be the Alpha king? Does he want to see her? but how?
She sighed and didn’t read too much meaning into it, even if someone is calling out to her, why is it disturbing the little girl? Is it because she’s close to her and she has the ability to hear him?
Since she doesn’t understand it, Martha decided to ignore it. She gestured to Bernie to come to her of which she did. Martha made her sit beside her, she held Bernie’s hands and her palms were cold. She must’ve been terrified.
“Don’t let it bother you, ignore that voice or pretend you are not hearing it, I don’t know but it might stop” she advised. That’s the best thing she can say since she is the only one hearing that person’s thoughts of her when she can’t speak back to him.
Whoever that long to see her knows where she stays, everyone around knows that she was taken in as a slave to the Alpha king. It is easy to locate her.
“I can’t stop it Martha, his longing is too strong that it keeps disturbing me” Bernie replied.
“This is weird, I have never seen a thing as hearing unknown person’s thoughts and longings. Are you still hearing it now?” Kaira asked and Bernie kept quiet for a while then nodded her head.
“Faint, it’s faint” she murmured as if it’s only to her hearing. This has happened a few times when Martha was with Bernie but she didn’t know it will happen with her one day.
She have been thinking about it, no matter how much she thinks, there is no one that will be ecstasy to see her. She is not sure about the Alpha king but exception of him. He’d think about her at least a few times a day.
“See? It will eventually go away, just don’t bother yourself with it. The person will find me if it’s that important” Martha replied making Bernie relax a little bit. It is annoying that she has to suffer and hear things that are unnecessary. Martha wondered what is so important about someone calling out to her, what for? Why?
“Are you okay?” Martha asked and Bernie nodded her head. The loud noise in her ears has stopped and she could hear very well again.
“The tree at the backyard, does it have any connection with you?” Bernie asked after finding her voice, Martha had to chuckle. Why will it have a connection with her? What does that mean?
“I only came into the Alpha’s tower three months ago, the tree has been there for years. Why will it have something to do with me? What era are we?” She asked and laughed it off.
Bernie and Kaira seems to be the one worried about her why she doesn’t want to believe that, not that she had friends before coming here. It has always been Bernie and her.
“I am sleepy” Bernie said and jumped on the bed while Martha covered her with the duvet.
“Aunt Kaira can stay with me, you are free to leave Martha” Bernie said smiling broadly like she wasn’t the one shitting in fear few minutes ago. How often does her mood change?
“Why do you want me to leave? Are you two planning on ditching me?” She asked staring from both Kaira and Bernie who grinned at her but didn’t bother giving a response.
“We can’t ditch you my Queen, you are–” the opening of the door cuts Kaira off and they all turned to see who entered.
Alpha Byron stood in the middle of Martha’s room in all his glory with a wary smile on his face.
Except Bernie who pretended to be asleep, they both sprang up on their feet.
“Good afternoon Alpha king, I will get going. See you later my Queen” Kaira said and was about stepping out of the room when Alpha Byron’s voice echoed in the room.
“You can stay, I came to pick my Queen” Alpha Byron replied, Martha flustered, her cheeks turned red from embarrassment. Alpha Byron has become more open about his affection towards her, he does whatever he wants with her even with his servants watching.
“Yes Alpha king” Kaira replied, failing to hide her smile.
Alpha Byron stretched his hand to Martha, she didn’t hesitate to place her hand in his and together, they left the room.
Alpha Byron didn’t leave her hand until they got to his room, he doesn’t care about anything. She’s his mate after all.
If he had known that he will miss her this much, he could have allowed Lynne to move her into his room instead of giving her a separate room from his. Even though she has been spending most of her nights with him, he still misses her within the little time she is not with him. He is becoming crazy or rather obsessed with her but he doesn’t mind as long as it’s none other than Martha.
Once they got into Alpha Byron’s room, he slammed her on the wall but no too hard to hurt her as his lips covered hers immediately. He kissed her, his mouth nibbled on her lips, she didn’t fail to return the kiss until the both of them were breathless.
Alpha Byron carried Martha in his arm and sat her down on the bed. He stared at her face lustfully but he didn’t say anything nor did he make the move to. His intense gaze on her made her face red.
She tends to blush each time the Alpha king is close to her, even without him doing anything, she will want to blush.
“I missed you” he said to her and gave her a quick kiss on the lips before sitting down beside her.
“I… I left here just this morning” Martha said smiling at him.
“It doesn’t matter, I miss you every now and then. Sincerely, I want you only by my side but I know that is selfish” he said and side hugged her.
“How are we doing?” He asked referring to both her and the baby while Martha nodded her head.
“We are fine but craving for things Lynne said I shouldn’t eat because it is not good for my health but I know taking a little won’t do no harm” she said with a pout knowing that she might win him over with that. The Alpha king has been giving her whatever she wanted without denying her anything.
“I can persuade Lynne to give you a little of whatever you want as long as it is not harmful to you and the baby. Anything to make you happy, I will do it for you” he said and winked at her.
This is the reason why she had could have told Alpha Byron first about her cravings. It is unlike her, normally, she eats whatever she is served with but she has become so picky that it irritates her sometimes.
“Thank you my king” she said.
“Do I not deserve an appreciation? I don’t want a thank you” he said and pulled her closer to him.
He kissed her neck, dropping wet kisses on her neck. He just wants to tease her knowing very well that she loves his touch on her.

She was in her room all this while, he was the one that took her out without checking her out first. The thought of other males feeding their eyes on her angered him. He is glad he didn’t see anyone hence, he wouldn’t have forgiven the person.
