ALPHA JASON'S MATE - Chapter 107: Chapter 107

Jason POV
Everyone sat together. We were merry. Bella was the center of attraction. I made her put on something new, and there she was beaming with a smile.
"Good day, everyone!" I called with Bella by my side.
Everyone looked at me. This wasn't one of the mere gatherings that we normally had, although it may seem alike. I didn't let Catherine join as her stomach had started showing.
"Jason, I don't want her to feel stressed," Max said, so he was attending the gathering alone.
Pregnancy takes a turn on people. Bella had changed significantly but it was not obvious.
This gathering always took place before my birthday and I was glad to have my mate by my side.
"Alpha, you will be adding a year soon to your age," one of the elders said. "You have three years left to fulfill your father's wish."
This meant only one thing, my father was around. His wish was that when I was thirty years old, I would have found my mate, and maybe she would be pregnant, but here I am.
"Where is he?" I asked.
"Jason!" I heard and turned back, and so did Bella.
I wanted to go to him. He didn't die but stepped down from the throne due to his failing health.
"Your father!" Bella whispered like she had seen the man before.
Father walked to join us. He wasn't waiting for long. After congratulating me for surpassing his expectations, he looked at Bella and nodded his head.
"Uncle!!" Bella said and covered her mouth. "Father-in-law"
My father's eyes went to Bella, and he smiled.
"Take care of the pack, Bella Fast,"
After that, he ate some meals and left. I could see Bella's face glued to his retreating figure but I wasn't ready to ask her any question. My father's blessing was enough.
The gathering took some hours and then ended. I walked with Bella around the house until she felt weak.
"Take her to the room," I said to Samantha then looked around. Something felt amiss but I couldn't wrap my finger around it.
"Alpha!" I heard Philip call. "We would like you to look into an issue."
I followed him to where he pointed to. People were gathered around someone but moved away when I got there.
I bent down and touched the blood that was oozing from the body of the person.
"Wolfsbane!" I said after sniffing the blood.
My eyes darkened and I held onto my fist. Anger coerced me and I only calmed down when I felt a hand wrapped around me.
But I sent her to her room.
"Bella!" I called and turned to her.
I got up and stared into her face.
"He is dead. His soul is gone. Killed during an attack,"
I watched as Bella spoke on. Samantha whispered into her ear, and I knew that she was urging Bella that they should go into the room, but as usual, Bella was stubborn.
A pregnant lady shouldn't see blood unless they are delivered.
"Get back to the room," I said in a low but authoritative tone.
She looked at me once again before turning to leave. I turned back to the body and asked the name of the pack they went to. Hearing the pack's name, I smiled and silently called, Alpha Frederick.
I could still remember when he sent his daughter here. I didn't want to take action against the pack, but I guess he chose to think I wouldn't take action against him if he did something wrong.
"Bury the body and take as many warriors with you. Capture Alpha Frederick, bring him to me. Only then will I determine his fate. Exterminate his male children. Leave only one,"
After the dead body was taken away, I went to wash up and sent an Omega to clean the floor.
While washing up, I looked in the mirror and saw Jack. I smiled looking at him.
"Teach him a very good lesson. Do not kill him but take over his pack,"
I finished washing my hands and then looked at the mirror.
"Would anyone be hurt?" I asked knowing fully well that I didn't bother to plan how to infiltrate the pack and just gave an order due to my worry.
My order was final.
"Nothing of such will happen,"
My eyes returned to normal and I walked out.
Getting close to the room, I heard Bella and Samantha laughing. This made me deliberate if I should enter or not. I decided to go in and Samantha left.
I walked to the left side of the bed, sat down then laid her head on my lap.
"What did you decide?" Bella asked showing that she was not angry.
"On what?"
"The dead body,"
I sighed and looked forward.
"They were attacked by Alpha Frederick, Monabella's father, and only he was unfortunate to be poisoned," I said.
Bella sighed then held my hand.
"What do you plan on doing?"
"Killing all his male children, save only one, and bring Alpha Frederick here," I said.
"Why do you need to save one of his male children? What if he takes it out against you in the future?"
"Do not worry about that," I said and held her close to myself.
"Have you seen Catherine?" I asked and she shook her head. I took up her hand and together, we walked to the living room. Coincidentally, Max also walked in with Catherine.
I saw the smile on their faces and left them to speak together while I walked to Max. I tried to speak to him about what just happened. He was my best friend and my Beta.
"You have so much in your heart; just spur it out," he said, making me laugh.
I gave him a little punch and he laughed.
"Alright, say on," he raised his hand in defeat.
Max has always been like this to me. He always looked out for my needs.
"This is what happened while you were having your happy moments with Catherine."
