Jason POV
I have found my mate but why is it now? This is not the best possible time for me to find her. I have been searching for her since and she is just appearing now. I only brought her here because of one reason and that is my wolf.
Moreover, she looks weak to me. Weak and fragile. A person who could be tossed around and controlled. This is the type of person that I do not want to rule the pack with me, but am I right to think of her like that?
I was wrong. I will have to watch her as she leaves my pack. We've searched for her many times and I didn't expect to meet her like this. Her strength showed that she wasn't someone to be tempered with. A spotless wolf.
Her power shows a lot. She has the power of good and evil within her and could bring peace as well as destruction if not controlled.
I have been satisfying myself with other ladies in the pack and didn't see a need to get my mate. That was me and not my wolf, who always wanted to be close to her.
Moreover, she is too young for me. I am 27 years old while she is 18 years old. I wonder why the moon goddess prepared a lady that I am nine years older than for me and not a lady in my age range.
We were having a meeting in the reserved room. The leaders and me. But instead of listening to them, I was lost in my thoughts.
"What are we going to do about that girl? She is a rogue and not a pack member," someone said, jolting me out of my thoughts.
"Let's deal with this matter like we always have," I said.
This isn't our normal meeting, but we were discussing what Bella did. Only my trusted people know that Bella is my mate. I didn't want it to be leaked out yet as it could cause a threat to both her and the pack, which is something I do not want.
I couldn't allow harm to happen to her. If she is in any way killed, half of me would also die and leave me useless, that is something that I can't afford to happen.
If my enemies were to find out that I have a mate, they could use her against me and that would affect the pack.
"Now that you know who she is to you, I will suggest you involve her in this war," an elder said and I grinned.
"We've won and survived every war without involving her and we would win like before," I said.
"Alpha, it has been prophesied that only she can end this war. We should involve her in this war so that we can end the bloodshed," another elder said.
He said the right thing; however, I was not ready to give in, and neither was my wolf. We couldn't just allow her to go into the battlefield. My wolf didn't want to lose his mate, and I wasn't ready to make my wolf sad, but that was the only way that we could use to stop this war.
"It would be best if she learns how to use her powers. That is necessary before she can join the war," I said. It won't be best if she joins us without learning how to use her powers.
"Alright, our elder who knows how to deal with these things should train her on how to use her power," someone said, and I nodded.
"That's best," I said. "Soon, she would start her training, but for now, she needs to get used to the environment."
They nodded and I dismissed the meeting.
I walked out with my Beta by my side. My wolf alerted me to check on our mate and I rushed back in. Some people from a pack that I was expecting were here.
I got disgusted seeing a man standing close to my mate. The sight of this agitated my wolf, and it wanted to fight, but I managed to control it.
The man spoke rudely to me and this got me upset. I tightened my grip while looking at him.
I made myself calm down as I listened to Bella who spoke to him. She didn't show fear.
It was surprising that they still wanted her back in their pack to continue serving as a maid. Yes, I knew how they treated her and how they blamed her. I would definitely deal with them for laying their hands on Bella.
What gave them the audacity to come here thinking that they would get back Bella?
No one should allowed to pass through the pain and suffering that Bella endured. Although she encountered that, she was still strong.
The man was trying to convince and take away Bella forcefully and this pissed me off. I smiled at the idea of him trying to forcefully take her away.
"Who are you to come into my pack and try to take her away without my consent?" I asked staring at the man.
He stepped back and left Bella's hand when he got to see me. I usually do not let people know who I am but not in this situation. It was good that no one apart from my pack members knew how I looked.
If I allowed people to know what I looked like, there would be no need for this man to come in and try to drag Bella; instead, he would plead with me to allow her to join him, but I can't allow that.
"She isn't following you anywhere and you should get out," I said.
He was such an idiot. Why would someone keep coming to a place where they are rejected?
My wolf was tempted to jump on them and attack. I think I will give it the benefit to do that the next time they come back.
After all, they hurt my mate.
