ALPHA JASON'S MATE - Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Jason POV
I looked up to see the sky as we entered the Crescent pack. A smile formed on my face. After greeting the Alpha of the pack who was extremely shocked, I made my intention known and he called for Mr. Scott.
Mr. Scott had a smile on his face. It's an honor to be called by the Alpha of one's pack. He smiled on seeing me and bowed while I twisted my lips. It was for a moment as he won't be smiling soon.
"Alpha Jason requested to see you," the Alpha said.
I looked at him then at Mr. Scott. My face was slightly covered so they didn't see my face but knew that it was me. We were led to a private area and I was treated well.
Mr. Scott sat opposite me and bowed.
"For what reason do I deserve this great honor?" He asked making me more agitated.
"Keep quiet," I growled.
With a weird smile, he looked down and asked me for the reason I came looking for him.
"It's about your maid," I said and he gave a shocking expression.
I have given in to my wolf and he was speaking.
"What happened to her?" He asked.
With a smirk on my face, I stared at him. There won't be a problem if I unmask some parts of my masked face.
Looking at my face, he was shocked and couldn't utter a word.
My face had a history. When one looks at it they are either sad or happy. It was a curse that has been placed on me. Whenever I am in my pack, it isn't effective but when I am out, it is.
When effective, the curse makes anyone dance to my tune and do whatever I want. Now the curse was effective and all I wanted Mr. Scott to do is to end his miserable life.
He moved close to me and was about to touch me when I stopped him. He shouldn't touch me. In few days, he should be dead. A smirk appeared on my face as I got up.
"It was nice meeting you at," I said. "I would take my leave."
He tried to stop me but I wasn't giving in. I walked out and saw him hastily walk out of the pack house. I smiled knowing that it has started taking effect on him.
Getting back to my pack, my Beta and best friend rushed to me.
"How did it go?" He asked.
"It went well," I replied.
He began to pick on something and I wondered what it is. When I inquired, he gave me a smirk.
"I only want to hear about what went on there,"
He behaved like a girl and that made me smile.
"You learned that from Catherine," I said and he shrugged.
"After all, she is my mate," Max said. "Where is your mate?"
I raised my hand up to stop him from saying more.
"Don't speak about her," I said and he squinted his eyes.
"But she is..." He was saying but I cut him short.
I told him not to involve her in any of our conversation. He took in a deep breath then sighed.
"I am just saying that you need to trust her," he said in surrender.
I thought of how dirty my mate was going to feel when she gets to know about how I lived my life. My life has always been a disaster.
Some years ago, I happily celebrated my birthday and was about to do something drastic. I knew no one would accept it so I did it silently.
I looked at the beautiful lady with a smile on my lip and told myself that she was mine. My plan was to propose to her in front of everyone during my celebration since I was of age.
At that time I had struggled with my wolf and chose the lady as my mate. She was the perfect definition of beauty according to my thought at that moment.
People were envious when I chose her as my mate. I searched for her on this day but didn't see her.
"Who are you looking for?" My father asked me.
"I am looking for her and will like to make her officially my mate," I said with a sigh. "Have you seen her?"
My parents looked at themselves then at me.
"No, we haven't," They said in unison.
Father held my hands not caring about what I said. He introduced me to some new faces but my eyes scanned the entire place for Laura.
After the introduction, I walked away to search for her and when I was about to give up, I saw her speaking with a man. She was walking out with him and I wondered what could be more important than the party.
I followed them out but they walked fast that I couldn't catch up with them. Getting out, I looked all over if I could see Laura but didn't.
When I was about to lose hope, I heard slow, rhythmic moan so I followed its direction. There I caught them. She was cheating on me. None of them knew that I was there but it made me worried to see them in that position.
With a smile on my face, I cleared my throat and she looked at me. She pushed the man away when she saw me and began to tremble.
"You may carry on," I said and the man looked at Laura who trembled then at me.
"Who are you?" He asked.
With a smirk on my face, I told him that he can consider me as Laura's ex - boyfriend. He laughed at my response and told me a shocking truth about her.
"I paid for her to get information about your pack," he said.
Laura didn't respond when I asked her to speak up so I knew that he said the truth. This got me angry and before I knew it, I had ripped them apart.
