Jason POV
I walked out of the room with a file in my hand. Bella just got up and I didn't have time to spend with her. Jayden was in a separate room, so Bella had enough time to rest.
I looked at my watch and sighed.
"I need to be out soon," I said to myself.
I smiled when I remembered that Bella told me that she would help me carry out some of my duties.
Getting to Max's office, I saw him with Catherine; they were having a conversation.
"Oh Jason, you are here," Catherine said.
"Did I disturb your discussion?" I asked and Catherine shook her head.
After she left, I sat in front of Max and asked if there was any problem.
"No, not at all. Just mate discussion,"
I smiled when he said this and pushed the file that I had with me towards him.
"You got up so early,"
"Oh yes, I had something to do, and Catherine came to deliver me some snacks," Max said with a smile on his face.
This made me smile and I got up.
"Whenever you are done revealing the file, make some necessary corrections and come out, let's dine together,"
Immediately after I left his office, there was a knock on the house door.
"Check who that is!" I ordered.
Max walked out of his office like there was trouble somewhere.
"Alpha!" He called and I looked at him. "It seems the attackers have arrived."
He narrated what he heard from his window side.
"Really!" We heard and turned back. It was Bella.
Max nodded to her while I took in a deep breath.
"Don't open the door," Bella was quick to shout when the door was about to be opened.
"We need to strategies," she said.
Catherine walked towards us with Nathan, and the fear of Bella, Catherine, Nathan, and Jayden being attacked came upon me. I have never been scared like this in my life.
"Bella, go with Catherine, Nathan, and Jayden. Hide in the back house,"
"No, I can't. If you want to save us, you would save everyone in the house,"
My head became heavy and I asked what we should do.
"They need the one who tore their friend. They are going to have it," she said.
"What?" We shouted apart from Catherine who knew nothing of it.
"You want to sacrifice yourself?" I asked.
Before Bella could speak, Catherine spoke up.
"How is she sacrificing herself?"
Bella looked at me and I nodded. She told Catherine how she saved Samantha.
We weren't expecting Samantha's presence, so we continued speaking until we heard a crash on the floor. It was Samantha who fell down and wept.
"I would go. I will sacrifice myself instead,"
"No one is going," Bella said and it almost resounded in the house. People from all corners gathered.
Bella was about to say something but swallowed when she saw people.
"Bring Dingo,"
Dingo is the wildest wolf that we had in the pack. He was a plain wolf and Bella hated him.
The wolf was brought and Bella moved to me like she was scared.
"Send it out," she ordered.
As Dingo made its way to leave, seeing the door slowly opening, Bella jumped on me with her eyes closed.
We heard people running and Bella smiled. I cupped her cheek and set her down.
A man who was running from Dingo ran into the house and Dingo pursued him. Again Bella jumped on me and held me tight.
After killing him, Dingo took him outside, shook his head, and came in.
"Bella, are you scared of Dingo?" I asked in a whisper and she nodded her head.
"It's scary and so wild," she said.
After everyone had dispersed, I asked Bella for the reason she thought Dingo was scary. She looked around and saw that it was only me, Samantha, and Catherine by her side, so she smiled.
"One day, I touched its head like I did to other wolves and was almost bitten,"
We laughed hearing this from her.
I was grateful that Bella came up with such an idea. A saying goes like this, a person with a stronger power looks fragile. I never believed this until I met Bella.
Max walked out of his office and I asked that our meal be served.
"Yes, Alpha," Samantha said.
A thought crossed my mind and I told Samantha to get her meal also. She would with between Bella and Catherine.
She stood, trying to process what I said, then nodded.
She rushed into the kitchen and walked out minutes later to the breakfast table.
After having our meal, I told Max to get the basic information that he had gotten to me.
"Should I come into your office for the required documents?" Bella asked and I nodded.
We went into my office, and I gave her a pile of files that she was to go through.
With a smile on her face, Bella sat comfortably on the couch and started going through every file; I received an email from Max.
As I was reading through the email, Max walked in and met my gaze. He looked at Bella who didn't notice his presence.
"She is too serious," he said.
"Jason, I would start my duty," she said then smiled when she saw Max.
"When did you enter?"
"Some minutes ago," he said. "You were busy, and I'd rather not disturb you unless Jason would..."
We both laughed and I told Bella that she could leave.
Max sat beside me and we had some words together.
I received a message from Bella to check what was going on in the training ground.
What could be going on?
Something would be going wrong there if Bella could tell me this.
"We need to check on whatever is happening in the training ground,"
"Do you feel anything is wrong?" Max asked.
"I don't know but Bella sent a message saying that I should check whatever is happening there.
