Bella POV
"Yes, it's been a long time," he pushed me away and pulled off my backpack. "You came to attack me, Isabella."
He asked, took my backpack, and threw me away.
I groaned in pain and thought about Jayden.
Suddenly, Manuel forced a leaf into my mouth.
"I would show you the marketplace, and kill you there,"
Tears fell from my eyes and I shook.
Grabbing me by the hand, he dragged me out. No one could recognize me because my hair had covered my face.
"Stop it!" I heard Jason's voice and a smile appeared on my face.
Manuel didn't respond but kept dragging me.
"Stop it!" I heard Samantha's voice.
"He is here for you, Samantha," I said and Samantha gave a gasp.
"Bella!" She called.
"I would kill you both,"
"I have accepted my fate, but leave Luna Bella alone," Samantha said.
Manuel kept moving me till I heard my mother's voice.
"Leave her alone. She is your daughter!" Mother screamed and I felt the world collapsing.
I pushed my hair back as I heard this. Manuel left me, and I looked at Samantha.
Jason picked me up, and we all stared at Mother. People who heard that when passing by stopped.
Mother fell on the ground and Samantha and I exchanged glances. I was thinking about how my father could continuously sleep with a young lady.
"I was raped by a criminal," Mother cried, then folded her hand to me. "I lied to you."
Jason tapped my cheek and we waited for her to continue speaking.
"I ran away from home when I was twenty years old because they wanted me to marry an old man," she began. "As I escaped, I fell into the witch's hand."
My mind flashed back to the time we went to clean her house.
"I lived with them for two years then they asked me to sacrifice my mother," she sighed and looked at me. "I couldn't perform it so I ran away."
I shook my head as I listened to her. She explained how she hid in a place in Crescent Pack with an old woman for three years and heard of all the atrocities caused by Manuel. It was the same place that I hid in after destroying Crescent Pack.
"I went out one day and Manuel came to me, but I ran away," she paused. "After three days, Manuel ran after me and raped me."
She began to weep more.
"I laid a curse on him, and decided not to go back to the old woman's hut," she continued. "I went back to the witches, learned their ways and customs."
She smiled and looked at me.
"I was happy when I heard you and called you, Isabella. I made a chain that had your name, but..." She stopped.
I wanted to know the truth before Jason decided on what punishment to give her.
"But what?"
"After your bath, I was told either to sacrifice you or take you away from me. If I take you away from me, I will die if I see you again."
I listened to her and thought for a long time.
Samantha clenched her teeth like she wanted to eat Manuel.
"Why are you alive?" I asked and she said she was granted freedom.
My gaze turned to Manuel. My injury was healing faster.
"You slept with my mother and with my friend," I said.
Samantha was weeping.
"You've gone into my house, right ?" She asked.
Before I could speak, I remembered the reason I was sent here.
"Let's check where she is," I said and Jason shook his head.
I saw Andrew and Myar walk out of the house with a lady who was almost out of her breath then I looked at Manuel who growled.
"Manuel, why were you invincible outside then?" I asked.
"It's because of the witch cause that I placed on him," Mother said.
Samantha had already fainted from crying and was now on Myar's arm.
"Take him to the asylum," Jason ordered Andrew pointing to Manuel.
I couldn't help but shake my head. The truth was already scary.
We walked back to the pack house, but Mother wasn't allowed in. I could also call her a witch but she was my mother. The one who gave birth to me died years ago with her son.
"Don't think too much," Mattie said. "She could never have been a good mother to you even if none of that happened."
I went into the house without sparing a look at her.
How could she lie to me like that? Didn't she have a conscience?
"Bella!" I heard Jason call me as I walked to Catherine.
I changed my direction and walked to Jason who held my hands.
"I am sorry for sending you alone. It was..." I placed my hand on his lips.
I wouldn't have known this truth if someone had followed me.
Slowly I fell down and remembered the leaf that Manuel forced down my throat. I would never forgive that man if he came back healthy. He should leave this pack when he becomes better.
Jason raised me up. I couldn't speak or move but I could still feel and think.
"Get the pack doctor," Jason shouted.
When she first arrived, she checked my pulse and my heartbeat.
"She has been poisoned," The doctor said. "We do not have the remedy in this pack."
"What remedy? We would get it,"
The doctor shook her head and said that it was in Crescent's pack, but since the pack was dead, it was no more.
"What would happen to her?" Catherine asked.
"She would remain like this till we get the remedy,"
Tears began to fall from my eyes and the doctor sighed.
"Hold on," she said. "People said that a lot of the remedy was stolen by a man with a ridiculous name."
I looked at Samantha who was just reviewed. She asked what happened to me.
