Jason POV
I stretched my body as I woke up the following morning. Bella was still asleep and there was a knock on the door making me wonder who it could be. To my surprise, it was Jayden.
I brought him in, and he ran to the bed. After closing the door, I cautioned him not to wake his mother. I laughed at how he nodded his head then went with my dress and towel.
When I got out, Bella was already awake and playing with Jayden.
"Oh, my cute one," she said to him.
They didn't notice my presence so I cleared my throat and they looked at me.
"It's time to eat," I said then touched Jayden hair.
Bella got up and whispered into my ear, asked me if I was jealous. This made me laugh and I looked at Jayden.
"Have you eaten?" I asked and he shook his head.
"Had your bath?" He nodded so I carried him.
We walked out of the room and I gave Jayden to Bella who passed him to Samantha, and we left to eat our food.
After eating, I played a little with Jayden and Nathan before going to my office. There was nothing to do so I picked up a book and began to read.
While reading, I remembered the old woman who was struggling to carry the basket yesterday night. She said that she has never been helped in the pack before, but why is that?
Since she didn't have a permanent disease, she should be helped by others.
I thought for a while then decided to do a research about her.
"I don't know her name," I said to myself then smiled.
Since I knew the person she was working for, I could easily get who she is.
I opened my system, held my browser then started browsing the internet.
Minutes later, I got what I needed and clicked on it. A call came in immediately and it was from Max.
"I am coming to your office," was the only thing he said.
I kept checking and Max entered the office making me abandon whatever I was doing and look at him.
"I think someone has hacked into your system," he said. "Browsing the web for an helper."
This made me laugh.
Max was the only one who has his system linked to mine so he could monitor whatever I was doing.
"I am doing it," I said and he cleared his throat.
"What for?" He asked.
"The old woman who was struggling to raise her basket," I said. "Can you remember?"
"Yes, I can," he said.
"She said something. No one helps her," I said and Max nodded his head.
"That's true," he said.
"Since I have nothing to do, I chose to check it out,"
"Hmmm, that's good," Max said.
We spoke about other things then I sent him to his office.
My attention returned back to the screen then I saw the old woman's name.
Moving to another tab, I searched her name and it brought out many results. I still strolled down and finally got to her profile.
The old woman didn't grow up in our pack and that I know, however she comes from this pack. She returned to her father's pack after the death of her parents. By then she was still young.
She looked for jobs but didn't find one thereafter she took on the job of a housekeeper.
This information wasn't enough but it was what the page told me about.
Was she blamed for causing her parents death?
I shook my head then got up to my feet. If it is true then I will announce that the action is prohibited in this pack. Afterall, I can't allow someone face what Bella faced when she was blamed.
"Jason, check on more of her highlights," Jack said.
I became to check the highlights and saw a video where she was weeping.
I clicked on the video and nodded as I received more information about her.
"She deserves it," I said.
I felt like I wasted my time searching for what I wasn't meant to. What would I tell Max that I found?
I got up from the chair and walked out of the office after I had switched off my system.
Max walked to me and asked for what I found out.
"Do not worry about it," I said, but Max wasn't a type to give up easily though he was gentle.
I told him everything that I found out, and he began to laugh.
We continued walking and got to the living room. I asked for Jayden, Nathan and Jeff.
Asking about Jeff, it's been a long time I had seen him so I decided to go with Max to the playroom.
Max showed his eagerness and this made me smile.
We went to the playroom and I held both Jeff and Jayden while Max held his son; Nathan.
"Alpha, do you consider me your son," Jeff asked.
That question was hard to answer and I saw Max laugh, but later he bailed me out.
"For now, Alpha Jason takes you as his son but not as his birth son," Max said. "We believe that one day your parents will come to get you."
I nodded my head and Jeff looked at me before nodding.
"All other children have a father or uncle, you shouldn't be left out," I added.
Jeff giggled as he heard what I said then pulled Jayden into a hug. I was happy to put a smile on Jeff's face.
I got up with Max and we decided to leave the room. We waved to the children and as many children who walked to us, we gave our blessings.
We continued speaking about Jeff as we walked to our mates.
Max pulled up Catherine and took permission from both Samantha and Bella who were discussing. I wanted to sit beside them but chose not to.
What if my presence scares Samantha? I can't afford that.
