Bella POV
It was another year; we danced and were merry. I felt on top of the world knowing that I was going to be twenty-two this year. That was a significant year for me. I don't know the reason.
"Luna!" I heard and turned back. It was Susana.
"Oh, wow," I said and went to hug her. She hasn't celebrated New Year with us. "Come."
I walked to Catherine who happily welcomed Susana back.
We chatted happily as friends would. I only left them when I wanted to see Jason.
I walked into the room and saw Jason with Jayden.
"What are the father and son discussing about?" I asked as I saw them.
Jason allowed me to take a seat and turned to me.
"In this new year, Jayden has to begin school with his brothers," he said, and I nodded.
I remembered all that happened to me while I was young but couldn't get distracted.
"Why do you want to speak about it now?" I asked. "You can do it in the evening."
Jayden smiled as I touched his cheek.
"Let's enjoy the new year,"
Jason got up with a smile on his face and sent Jayden out of the room.
"I promise to make your twenty-second birthday special," he said.
We walked out of the room and Susana greeted him when she saw him.
Jason acted shocked and looked around.
"You aren't always here for New Year," he said, and Susana laughed.
"I took a New Year break,"
After Jason left, we began to tell her a lot of things that happened when she wasn't here. I felt strange in my spirit. It felt like something bad is going to happen like something bad is going to happen in the pack or pack house.
I looked around trying to determine what it was.
"Bella!" Susana called. "What is it?"
"I feel something bad is going to happen," I replied but Susana shook her head.
"What bad can happen?" She asked. "The goddess won't allow anything to ruin this festive season."
Her words made me calm, and I nodded my head.
We continued discussing, but I still felt strange within me, and I couldn't ignore it. I wanted to get up to tell Jason about what I felt, but I remembered that I told him to enjoy the new year.
It won't be good if I go to him now. I wasn't certain of what it was and when it would happen so I put my heart at ease. Maybe I would tell him in the evening.
I kept discussing with the women and laughed at intervals.
Jason walked up to us and reminded me that we would be going to bless all the market women today.
The women were outside selling as the Alpha gave them freedom.
I felt like telling him about what I felt but I shook it off. It could wait till evening when we come back from blessing the people.
"Alright, I won't forget," I said.
After he left, I went to meet Jayden who was with his brothers, that is, Jeff and Nathan.
"Luna!" They all called. Jayden called him with a smile on his face.
As I was about to speak, we heard shouts outside.
"Check whatever is going on," Jason said.
A guard came from outside and told us that warriors from Lite Pack were here and were throwing swords.
I looked at Catherine and Susana then touched my chest. Is this the reason I felt bad?
The people from Lite Pack did wrong in this pack two months ago, and we sent them back to their Alpha. Why did he send warriors?
"Ahhh...," we heard cries of women and of children. The first thing that I saw when I brought my phone out was a video recording that a woman made when she heard a knock on her door.
"Keep all women and children safe," Jason announced. Then we asked the guard who rushed in if anyone was injured.
"None," he said. "I think they are approaching the pack house."
Everyone present in the pack house screamed.
Jason advised that everyone should be locked in a room, leaving only him, Max, and some Gamma.
Catherine wasn't ready to leave but was taken away. Jason tried to send me away but couldn't. They tried to drag me away but couldn't. Cries kept echoing in my ear. I remembered the tormenting treatment that I went through in Gemini pack years ago.
I saw this happening, and I knew the repercussions of neglecting them at this time. My wolf is now stronger, and so am I.
"Bella, do not come out with us," Jason said.
I saw a multitude of people approaching as they opened the door. I knew that they could overpower our men.
If only Jason could allow all the gamma to stay here. He allowed only a few to stay behind, and anything could happen. In that treatment, I knew that all of us would die if I didn't do anything, but how could I sacrifice Jason, Max, and the Gamma's life with Lite Pack warrior's life?
Using my power would be risky. It can kill people.
Without any other thoughts, I walked closer and opened the door that they just shut. I closed my eyes and felt power swelling in me.
Opening my eyes, I stretched my hands forward and growled.
"What are you doing, Bella?"
I knew that Jason didn't want me to show my power outside but what could I do?
The ground began to shake and without any of our people taking action, the Lite Pack warriors began to slutter themselves.
When the ground stopped shaking, the Lite Pack warriors were all on the ground, dead. Jason hugged me and didn't complain of me using my power.
The dead bodies were cleaned up and thrown into the ocean. Others were released from the room, and the story of what just happened was said.
It has been five years since that incident happened and we haven't faced any war since the news of what happened to the Lite pack warriors was out.
