Bella POV
Living in Oak Pack has been fun. I couldn't understand that I stayed a week peacefully. Truth be told, they were highly secured.
Some of the maids were also rogues like I am. We discussed whenever we were less busy.
"I heard Alpha Jason is searching for a missing person," someone said and the.words rang in my ear.
I hope it isn't me. This pack could get damaged.
"I hope there is nothing implicating in this land." A lady said.
They kept discussing and I had a strange feeling.
Before I could think anymore, I heard Luna Maria call us out. She only called us and according to what I heard, she only calls like this when there is trouble.
We gathered around her and she warned us on how to behave when we got out.
""Your head might be severed if you don't thread carefully," she said.
She nodded, and one by one, we were called out. They didn't call us by our name but by our code.
Luna Maria held my hand and smiled.
"It's like this is the last day I am going to see you," she said.
Why did she behave like this?
When it was my turn to go out, my feet shivered. It was like I couldn't walk.
"Move," Luna Maria commanded.
I walked out and could see the piercing gaze of everyone. Some of the maids were on their knees while some were standing by a corner.
Immediately, my eyes met with Jason's; he wore a smirk on his face and pointed at me.
The next minute, a man was by my side. He held my hand and I struggled to break free from his grip. Alpha Jason walked towards us and carried me on his shoulder. I struggled to get down.
The last time he behaved like this was to take me to the pack house.
"I do not want to go to your pack," I cried and hit him.
I could still remember all the painful words of Paula.
He carried me out and placed me on his chariot.
We arrived at Dark Pilot pack, and my body began to shiver as I remembered my altercation with Paula.
Getting to the pack house, Jason got off the chariot and raised me into his shoulder.
"Leave me, I can walk on my own," I said but he didn't listen.
People gathered around and I saw them stare at me. My eyes met Paula's angry gaze and I couldn't help but smile.
Jason opened the room door and laid me on the bed and Catherine walked in.
"Bella, why did you escape?" She asked but I didn't respond.
All I could do was shed tears, which irritated Jason. He walked out of the room and I hugged Catherine.
"I am not needed here," I said to Catherine who shook her head.
She asked for the reason I escaped and I couldn't tell her that I really wanted to leave so I told her about my last visit to the kitchen. This made her hold onto her fist.
"I will let Jason know," she said but I shook my head and held her hand.
"Let it be. They are in love," I said.
Catherine shook her head, but I wasn't ready to see her face, so I turned around to the other side. I remembered what happened on my first day in the kitchen and held my breath.
Why did he bring me back here if he isn't going to accept me? I remembered what Catherine said when I wanted to leave; the pack needs me.
Jason brought me here because the pack needs me. That's so selfish of him. He wants me to stay here while he goes enjoying himself.
Taking a deep breath, I told Catherine that we should go out of the room.
"Well, not like this," she said looking at the dress that I wore.
She told me to take a shower and then come out.
I wore a beautiful gown selected by Catherine but I didn't feel cool in the dress. A knock was heard on the door and a lady said that the Alpha would like to see me.
Catherine walked with me to a room where I saw the elders with Jason. I sat down and Catherine left the room.
"You are needed here," one of the elders said and my wolf felt sad.
"They only need us here for the pack," my wolf said.
Since I knew the danger of leaving the Pack, I knew well not to plan an escape plan so I nodded.
I looked around the room if I would see Max but he wasn't anywhere near.
"You need to seize from escaping. We need to protect you so we can't let anyone know who you are," an elder said.
Hearing those words made me look at the elder. Protect me? If they want to protect me, then they won't allow Paula to bully me.
"Thank you for your care," I said, looking at Jason, who wasn't looking at me.
After the meeting, I walked out and saw Catherine chatting with Max. I began to reminisce if my relationship with Jason would ever be like this. If he would ever accept me or continue his behavior.
"Bella, you are out," Catherine said looking at me.
I nodded and greeted Max. Catherine walked me to my room and when she was about to leave, I held her back and asked her to wait a bit.
Laying my head on Catherine's lap, I began to explain how irritated I was when I heard that the pack needed me.
"I guess after my help, Jason would leave me. It's better if he stays with Paula," I said.
"You shouldn't say that. The goddess paired you with Alpha Jason," she said.
I smiled at the thought of her words.
"The goddess made a bad choice pairing us together," I said.
Catherine shook her head and told me not to say anything against the goddess.
