Bella POV
"I said you should leave her," Abel said but Josh didn't bulge.
"Or what will you do? Hit me by using one of the moves you learned abroad?" Josh asked.
All I wanted now was for Josh to leave me. I wasn't bothered if he argued with Abel.
Without responding to Josh's words, Abel launched a punch across his face. The punch was so powerful that Josh staggered and fell off me. Josh got up and attacked Abel also. I stayed still watching them as they fought. I couldn't move my leg so the only thing I could do was watch them fight.
But the action of Abel was a surprise to me. He didn't stay in the house with us for a long time but I knew that he has always despised me and always complained to his mother when she was alive that I would be the death of her. When Mrs. Scott died, I was the first he blamed but now he is fighting for me. Surprising.
It was like a joke to me. Were these two acting just to show me their evil side when they felt that I was weak?
The door was pushed open and I heard another person ask why they were fighting. They didn't answer him so he walked to their middle and was able to stop the fight.
They both stared angrily as they stood aside. No word came out of their mouth as they both respected him.
"What is happening here?" He asked, looking around, then his eyes fell on me. "And what is she doing here?"
"She can't move," Josh immediately said.
"Such a lie," Abel shouted. "You wanted to sleep with her. She isn't a person you should try that with."
Josh laughed and wanted to charge at Abel but Joel stood in the middle.
"You said she isn't a person I should try that with but why?" He asked panting like an injured lion.
Joel kept the two men away from themselves.
"This thing should be solved without ourselves," Joel said squinting his eyes. "We are men and shouldn't be fighting in front of a woman."
I knew that he was referring to me but I stayed there enjoying the drama.
Josh waved Abel's hand off me and walked out of the room. Joel also left leaving me and Abel in the room. He stared at me but his stares only irritated me. After all, he is one person who has insulted me a lot although he doesn't come home usually.
Abel has been nothing but a thorn in the flesh to me. He also accused me of the deaths that have been happening even when I told him that I wasn't. Anyway, people don't just believe others because of the words of mouth. The hurtful thing was him blaming me for his mother's death.
He looked at me nervously and smiled.
"I am sorry about what just happened," he said looking at me. "Josh is just an idiot."
I didn't respond to him but looked on. What would I say to my bully?
Sighing, he pressed his hand on my leg and I could raise my leg up and turn my body. This made me happy. I stared at Abel as I didn't know what he had up his sleeve, but what I knew was that I wanted to escape the place, but a question bordered me.
"Is what Josh said true?" I asked, not knowing how to put my question.
"If you mean my father, yes," he said, and his face was filled with grief.
"Do you know who or what killed him?" I asked.
I knew Jason could kill Mr. Scott, but why would he do that? I wanted to hear from Mr. Scott's son to be sure.
"We suspected that it was Alpha Jason," he said rolling his eyes. "It has been confirmed that Alpha Jason killed my father when he visited."
He wore a straight face as he looked at me. I knew that he was sad. I just nodded my head and looked at him.
"Why did you go to his pack?" He asked but I didn't answer. This made him angry and he shouted his question again.
"Why does it concern you where I go?" I asked.
"Oh, really?" He asked with a shocked expression.
"Yes, I don't need to reply to you," I said bluntly.
He may still be mourning his father but that has nothing to do with me. He has done things that I couldn't forget, things unforgettable to me, so why should I sympathize with him? It wouldn't be good if I became nice to him just because he saved me from Josh; he needed to pay for his past actions.
Abel was part of them in some meetings anytime he was around. They usually speak on how to make life unbelievable for me with his father being their head. Abel was Mr. Scott's assistant in those meetings so why show his care now that his father is dead?
"Why do you have to save me when all that you have done is to throw an accusing finger at me?" I asked, wanting to clarify things with him.
"My mother died all because of you. Your presence makes people who care for you die," he said with a gritted teeth.
"You know that is wrong, and your mother didn't die because of me," I said, knowing that he still blamed me for his mother's death. "I didn't do anything to her neither did I do anything to anyone who cared for me."
I sobbed as I remembered how Mrs. Scott cared for me. I also remembered my mother, who adopted me and felt hurt.
I would still blame myself for Mrs. Scott's death. If it wasn't for my presence I won't be blamed for her death and also if she had listened to her husband, I would have no cause in her death.
"Don't blame yourself for it," Abel said looking at me. "I am also at fault. I shouldn't have left though I didn't want you here."
