ALPHA JASON'S MATE - Chapter 31: Chapter 31

Bella POV
"Who is there?" I asked again but there was no response. I moved back as I didn't know who it was.
Soon, a man appeared; he folded his hands and looked at me while I trembled.
"How... How... did you get here?" I stammered while asking and he began to laugh.
The man moved close to me and I moved back.
"I followed you in," he said then remained where he was.
I wanted to ask some other questions but trembled. The only thing that I could do was to stay where I was. If I were to scream, I would attract people's attention to the hut.
I walked back and he sat on the bench.
"You still think of him," he said making me confused.
"Who?" I asked and saw his bulging eyes.
"Jason," he replied.
I didn't say a word but just stood there looking. Who could this man be?
After some minutes, our eyes met, and he cleared his throat and told me that he was there to protect me, but how could I believe someone so fast without knowing who he was?
"Who are you and what is your name?" I asked and he smiled.
"Just consider me a protector and for my name, you will know later," he said.
I didn't know if I should believe him, but I wanted to see Jason, so I cleared my throat and asked him what he wanted. He replied to me saying that he was taking me to the Dark Pilot pack, but I didn't want to believe it.
After long, I nodded in agreement to follow him but what I didn't expect was for the man to come close to me. Soon, he pressed something on my nose, and I fell unconscious.
When I woke up and looked around, I was in a tiny room and my hands were tied. Only then did I remember how I was tricked. I struggled hard to release myself but nothing could be done.
Soon, the door to the room flew open and the man who convinced me walked in.
"Darling, don't you struggle," he said.
"What have you done to me?" I asked.
I couldn't use my power to break the rope but why?
The man walked over with a smile on his face.
"I know that you are thinking of your power," he said. "It's still in you but I control it."
My mouth flew open. Does he want me to do his work? I stared at him with pain in my eyes.
"Since your power is strong enough to destroy a pack then it is strong enough to work for me," he said.
I got angry and wanted to fight but I couldn't. My hands were tied and my power would be controlled by someone.
He walked to me and untied my hands which allowed me to sit up. A lady walked in with a bowl of porridge and dropped it in front of me but I didn't want to eat it.
"Your hands are weak so she will feed you," the man said and left the room.
The girl began to feed me, and halfway through, I asked her what her name was, but she refused to answer me, but after feeding me, she replied with a disease name.
I was beyond shocked as I watched her pack the plate.
"By next week, you will be given a new name," she said.
This made me shock and I told her confidently that I was going to escape. She laughed and told me that I couldn't escape the web of Tuberculosis.
My brows ached as I heard Tuberculosis. He was a dreadful criminal. They called him the unseen criminal.
The door flew open and I could see her shaking. Before I knew it, the man called Tuberculosis charged at her and gave her a heavy slap. It was because she said his name.
I walked to their middle and tried to save the situation but was pushed. Tuberculosis grabbed the lady's hand and dragged her out.
I tried following them out but discovered that the door was locked.
On my mind was the thought of escaping. I waited to know the girl's real name so that I would know how to help her out of there after my escape.
The door flew open and two women walked in. They both had a mole by the corner of their cheek and walked in.
"This ritual is meant to be done for you by next week, but since you know the boss's name, then we have to do this." A woman said.
I was terrified by this. What ritual?
The woman took my hand and placed it in a bowl. She held my hands firmly so that I couldn't withdraw it. The other woman poured a black water on my hand. I withdrew my hand from the bowl when I felt my energy draining.
Both women looked at themselves and nodded before getting up. I guess that they didn't want me to lose my strength or maybe they didn't expect me to do that.
A woman held my hand and looked into my eyes and patted my cheek. They left the room afterward and I sat thinking of all that happened.
"Why did they get kidnapped? If I wasn't then there would be no need for this," I thought.
My thoughts went to Alpha Jason. What would he do when he gets to know that his mate has joined a criminal?
I closed my eyes and sighed.
"There should be a way of escape," I said to myself.
The door opened and the girl who told me about Tuberculosis entered. Her face was now swollen, and I guess that the man had beaten her.
"How was the ritual?" She asked with a not-so-good face, and I wanted to explain how it went, but knowing the implication, I nodded my head.
I won't allow anyone to suffer because of me. I can't allow them to get beaten.
