Bella POV
Waking up the following morning, I was happy and felt relieved. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door and knew that I couldn't stay on the bed for so long.
I hurriedly put my bed in order and then walked to the door. It was Samantha.
She was dressed in a beautiful gown when I just woke up.
"Good morning," I said with a yawn and she smiled.
She urged me to take my bath and get dressed. I left to take my bath and when I was done dressing, I rushed out of the room and met Samantha at the dining table.
"Take your seat," she said and I did.
Without a word, she began to eat and I followed suit. We ate and left.
While I thought that she wanted us to sit down, she proved me wrong but pulled me into her room.
Passing by a woman, I felt linked to her. We looked at each other and smiled. This made Samantha give me a light push. I looked at Samantha and then back to the woman, but she had left.
My heart swirled with joy.
"Who is she and why are you so happy?" Samantha asked.
I didn't respond but drew her to the room. The consequences of letting it out in the open could be quite destructive.
"She is a representative," I said.
Samantha didn't understand me and I had to buttress my point. Seeing that she understood made me smile.
We sat on her bed and began to play video games.
Suddenly, I remembered Samantha's promise and reminded her about the ritual that she told me of.
"I haven't forgotten," she said. "But we can't start the morning with a ritual."
We spent the whole morning playing games just like kids. There was nothing we couldn't do because we were adults but we had a good time together.
The house was boring whenever we had no stealing to do.
In the afternoon, Samantha called my name and locked the door. I knew that we were about to start the ritual.
"No one knows that I have this," she said. "I have always been afraid to use it but since you are here, I am no longer afraid."
I nodded and hugged her.
She brought out ingredients for the ritual and placed it on the floor. We stood in front of the bowl and she poured something inside. It began to bring out heat and I trembled.
"You need to keep it cool," she instructed me.
I asked her if she was sure that this would work and she replied positively. I thought about it for some moments.
The heat increased as she poured another ingredient. We were both sweating but didn't care.
I wasn't sure if this was the best idea but it is worth it.
Next, Samantha stretched out her hand and I followed suit. It felt like I was burning, which prompted me to look at Samantha, who was squinting her eyes.
"Yes," Samantha said with a smile on her face as she withdrew her hand. I also withdrew my hand and saw Samantha bring forward another bowl containing water and moving the last other bowl backward.
There were two cups in the water; Samantha picked one while I picked the other.
We poured the ordinary water on the heated hand of ours.
When we were done, Samantha put her face into the bowl and brought it out. I was also about to do the same, but she stopped me and pulled me to the bathroom, where she poured water on my face.
Minutes later, she handed me a towel while she took another.
Getting to the bed, she helped me to wipe my hand.
Soon we were done and a smile appeared on my face.
"We are done with the ritual," she said getting up.
I felt so happy and asked her when we should go out, and she responded that since she had to steal the next day, I should plead with Tuberculosis to go with her, and from there, I could escape with her.
I nodded to the idea, and we walked out. I saw two women arguing and looked at Samantha. We both smiled since it was one thing that happened here.
We both sat and I held Manuel call Samantha.
Looking at the man, it seems like he already loves Samantha but doesn't want anyone to know. This thought made me remember my mate.
I have never loved anyone, but when I knew that he was my mate, I began to like him, but I could never determine if he would like me or not.
I had a strong determination within me to try to love someone else after passing through this huddle.
"Chancroid!" Samantha called me.
We called each other our disease name whenever we were in the presence of people as we found it dangerous to call our real name.
"I told Tuberculosis that you want to follow me tomorrow, and he requested to speak with you," she said, and I nodded.
I sniffled before going to meet him.
"Why do you want to go out with Salmonella?" He asked.
"I get bored without her being here," I said.
Manuel smiled a bit then looked deep into my eyes.
"Alright, but remember, if anything goes wrong, you will have yourself to blame," he said.
I nodded and went to meet Samantha.
"He agreed," I said.
Samantha was joyful about this, and I could only pray that everything would work out fine.
We spoke about other things and then left to eat our afternoon meal.
Whenever I remembered that we had an escape mission the next day, a smile would appear across my lip.
At least we would be escaping here.
I thought of how a Luna would have been reduced to nothing if I was willing to perform the first ritual which would affect my power.
I looked at Samantha and hugged her. What would I have done without a friend like her?
