ALPHA JASON'S MATE - Chapter 39: Chapter 39

Bella POV
I slept in the room where they had taken Samantha. The next morning, I woke up hearing a knock on the door.
When I woke up, my eyes met with Samantha's. Samantha, who sat with her leg folded like a scared cat saw me and smiled.
"Chancroid!" She called but I shook my head.
She looked at the room and then at me.
"You rescued me," she said but next was taken by fear. "I saw a man take you. Were you kidnapped?"
I smiled and touched her cheek and walked to open the door.
Samantha called unto me not to open the door but I did. Catherine walked in and looked at Samantha.
"How are you?" She asked Samantha who wore a smile on his lips.
"Oh, Luna, I am fine," Catherine said, making us smile.
I knew that she called Catherine the Luna because of the ornaments she wore. I wonder what she would do when she notice that I am the Luna.
Catherine shook her head and told Samantha that she wasn't the Luna. She looked at me and was about to say that I was the Luna, but I shook my head.
She blinked her eyes and her expression changed from a happy one to a sad one. Only then did I remember what took place the last day.
I walked over to Catherine and asked how Samantha would get dressed and she told me that it would be taken care of.
I walked to my room and took my bath. Next, someone barged into the room. It was Catherine. She brought two bowls of soup, two bottles of water, and two bowls of butter to the room.
I asked why there were two of each in the bowl, and she told me that Samantha would like to eat with me.
Did she speak with Samantha?
Samantha walked in after some minutes and rushed to me.
"I would leave you," Catherine said and walked out.
Samantha smiled and told me that the Omega was nice.
I knew that she was talking about Catherine so I told her that she was the Beta's wife and my friend.
"Friend?" Catherine asked and I told her that I stayed here before I was kidnapped.
"Okay, Okay. Let's eat," Samantha said.
When we were done, I held her hand and told her to come out with me. She eagerly did thinking that we were going to steal. She took the tray out and someone collected it from her hand.
"We aren't invincible," she said making me laugh.
I told her that we weren't going for what she thought but we were going out just to see outside. I couldn't use the word 'steal' as it would affect people's opinions about me.
We walked to the living room, and Catherine asked to follow us, but I told her not to. She, however, said that she would tell a guard to follow behind us. I tried to refuse but knowing that she was caring for me and didn't want me to be kidnapped, I nodded.
We walked out of the building and the first person I met on my way was Jason. I tried to dodge him but he caught hold of me.
"What are you trying to do? Leave her," Samantha cried.
I thought of telling Samantha that he was the Alpha but thought against it.
"Take it easy, Samantha, he won't hurt me," I said and told Samantha to wait.
Samantha was scared that she would get kidnapped but Jason assured her that there was a guard at her back who was going to protect her.
"Take care of her," Jason said to the guard, who answered positively, leaving Samantha stunned.
I left with Jason to his cabin. Max wasn't there which made me sigh.
"You are such an actress," Jason said, wearing his normal expression, and I smiled.
He told me how he heard everything I did from Catherine and told me to keep up with the acting, but he warned me to be careful not to make Paula angry while I acted because she was the main target.
"Alright, I will do as you say," I said. "But what is my payment for working for you?"
Since he didn't want to accept me as his mate then, I would request that he pay me for the time being, but what he said next made me shocked.
"Then we will get married," he said.
I didn't know what to do or what to say. Does it mean he has accepted me?
I asked him if he had accepted me, and he kept quiet.
"I only want you to be careful," he said.
I knew better than to repeat my question, so I asked him if the guard wouldn't reveal who he was to Samantha. He gave a negative response saying that Samantha was like an outsider so no one would tell her who he is like they don't tell me.
We spoke on some other things and I left.
I felt happy knowing that I spoke with Jason but when I saw Samantha from afar, I wore a sad expression.
Samantha mustn't figure out that the words that I had with the man who pulled me from her makes me happy.
"Let's go," I said and Samantha looked at me.
I held her hand, and together, we walked to a stall.
Samantha shook her head, saying that she didn't want to eat anything, so we found a place to sit. Something caught her attention and she asked that we steal it. I shook my head and told her that we were no longer thieves.
She took a deep breath and asked why the guard easily obeyed Jason. I wanted to tell her that Jason was the Alpha but that would mean me betraying Jason.
I also wanted to tell her that we were all equals, but what if someone looked down on her? She would feel that I am a liar.
Hiding my identity was enough lie.
