Bella POV
"Ah," I shouted when I hit my leg.
Jason walked close to me and told me to be careful.
"I can't see much here while you can," I said.
Jason placed a hand across my lip and told me to leave. I proved stubborn and didn't want to leave but what he said next probed me to leave.
I walked straight into the pack house angrily but when I saw Samantha approaching, I switched to a smile.
No one should know about my relationship with Jason yet until I get him to accept that he loves me.
"Hi, Samantha," I said, giving her a hug.
She asked of the Alpha and I told her that he was busy.
"You are mysterious," she said. "You made me believe you didn't know the Alpha then you made me believe that he is just a friend."
She continued speaking until she saw a man walking and frowned, asking him if a lady was done doing what she requested.
"Yes, she is," he said.
She returned to communicating with me and I couldn't help but ask what she instructed the lady to do.
We continued talking then I saw a man walking. He was weak but carrying a heavy thing, and I shook my head.
"Place it down," I said.
He looked irritatedly at me but when Samantha said that I was the Luna, he obeyed.
I looked around, thinking of what I could do rather than talking with Samantha, who was busy organizing people to work.
"Why didn't you forgive them?" She asked and I told her about the Alpha stance.
"He doesn't want you to be nonchalant," she said with a smile which meant that she agreed with him.
This made me smile as I thought of how I would have been if I had forgiven them. They might decide to do things against me, and I would forgive them.
Oh my, I am gullible just as Jason said.
Catherine walked into the house and asked where the Alpha was and when I told her, she shook her head.
"I can't go there," she said.
"Why can't you?" I asked.
"Am a little bit scared of ghosts when I am not with Max," she said.
I understood very well what she meant. She must be with her mate while going inside as he would be the only one to boost her confidence.
"I will let Max know," she said and playfully touched Samantha's cheek.
After she left, I decided to go out with Samantha but Samantha refused and reminded me of the task that I gave her. I smiled knowing that my friend was hardworking.
"I will pray to the moon goddess that your mate would love you wholeheartedly," I said and she smiled.
"Like your mate," she said.
Her words made me smile as I thought of how our love would be when Jason finally agreed to love me.
"Get someone to take over your work," I said.
I knew that she wasn't expecting me to say that, but what else should I do? I wanted to go out with my friend but not as a normal person to people but as their Luna.
Minutes later, we were out of the building and I walked to some places. People's respect for me was what I was expecting.
I took Samantha along so that they would know not to tread on her.
"What will you like?" I asked when we got to a store.
The store owner was eager to give us anything we wanted even without us paying but Samantha shook her head.
"I am now the Luna and the Alpha's heartbeat. Nothing must happen to me," I said.
I knew the reason I said this. It was a way to make Samantha work hard. She would protect me and this will give us the chance to be close. I also promised myself to give Samantha the rights that my personal Omega deserves.
I decided to show her around just so that she wouldn't get lost like Catherine showed me before.
"Come here," I said holding her hand. "I want to show you around."
She was about to say something but decided not to when she looked into my eyes. She nodded and followed me.
By the way, we met Catherine who was speaking to some women. When they saw me, they happily greeted me.
"That's our Luna," Catherine introduced with respect to some women who didn't know who I was. "And this is her personal Omega."
Samantha folded her hand in respect to the women.
"You are such a beauty queen. I have seen you around," a woman said. "When did you come here?"
I saw Samantha fidget and knew the reason she fidgeted. Would she tell everyone that she came from outside?
Before she spoke a word in response to what was asked of her, I immediately spoke up.
"She has been with me all this while but didn't come out as she was trying to know herself more," I said, then looked at Samantha, who nodded.
With that said, I walked away with Samantha. As a Luna, I shouldn't speak much to outsiders.
I showed Samantha a vegetation and this made her remember when we were with Manuel.
"I wish he dies for all the pain and suffering that he has caused me," she said with tears running down her cheeks.
"We are out of there, and no one should know about your experience except for your mate," I said, and she nodded her head.
She immediately wiped her tears off and held my hand.
"It's over and I should move on," she said. "Let's go to the pack house."
Immediately we got up, I met Catherine. Was she following us?
"Oh, you both are here," she said then looked at Samantha. "Max isn't feeling well, and some women are coming here to harvest some vegetation for his treatment."
After asking about the ailment Max had, Samantha offered to help Catherine. Before Catherine could respond, Samantha had started cutting some vegetables.
When the women came, it was too late as Samantha had got all that Catherine would need.
