"This should be enough," Catherine said. "Thank you."
She touched Samantha's cheek and left. We followed her as were going home.
While on the way, I asked Samantha why she knew a lot about vegetations yet hated it because of Manuel.
"My father provided herbal medicine for our society," she said. "He took me along most times when he needed to get a herb."
I nodded to this and thought if I had any father, I would have experienced a father's love. Anyway, why was I thinking of such.
We got to the pack house and I felt the need to rest.
"I want to rest, will you accompany me to my room?" I asked.
Samantha nodded and followed me to my room. Opening the door, I was shocked to see Jason's half naked body. I immediately closed the door and looked at Samantha.
"I think you would need to go to your room," I said and without further delay she left.
I took in a deep breath and thought of an idea.
Without waiting extra for anything, I walked into the room with a smile on my face but by then Jason was dressed.
"Where are you coming from?" He asked and I told him that I was coming from showing Samantha around.
He took a deep breath and turned to look at me.
He said that it wasn't my duty to show Samantha around and I agreed to this but since she is my personal Omega, why can't I use that as an excuse to take her around.
"Anyway, forget about it," he said.
I was about to tell him something but he walked pass me like nothing happened.
"Well, I don't care whatever he thinks," I huffed and was about to take off my clothes when someone knocked.
It was Catherine who walked in. She asked about Samantha and I told her that we met Jason in the room so I had to send her to her room. She nodded and asked me about Jason; I told her that Jason just left the room and she nodded.
"Well, Max will like to see the person who got the herbs for him," she said and I nodded.
We both went to Samantha's room and I pushed the door. To my surprise, she wasn't on the bed. We went into the room and continued our search for the Samantha but it seemed like she wasn't there.
I knew the next place she could be so I walked out with Catherine and shut the door.
"Let's go down," I said.
There we saw Samantha doing the work I had given her. I remembered sending her to her room but she decided to do this. Wasn't she tired?
After speaking to her, the three of us walked towards Catherine's room. We saw Jason there and Samantha greeted with respect.
Max showed his excitement that it was someone close to the Luna that got the vegetables.
"Thank you, Samantha," Jason said.
The word was like a shock to me. What did I just hear him say? He appreciated someone?
Since I wanted them to feel that we were normal couples, I maintained a straight face.
Max said that he had a gift for Samantha, and although she refused he warned her to accept it. It was a beautiful bracelet.
Samantha smiled and looked at Catherine who nodded. Later, she was allowed to leave the room.
I sat at Max feet and asked him how he was doing.
"The pack's doctor would be coming soon to check on him," Catherine said holding my hand. "For now, he told me to make this remedy and give him a table spoon."
I nodded when I heard this. It was from the vegetables that Samantha had cut, she was still mixing them together.
She walked to the little bowl and took it.
After some minutes, I left the room for my room. Since Samantha didn't want to rest, it's best for me not to force her.
I rested for a few minutes after changing my clothes then left to check on what was going on in the living room.
"There would be a meeting with the elders in an hour, make sure you are there," I heard and looked back.
What did he just say? Hope he is going to attend it now that his Beta wasn't feeling good?
I turned and nodded.
An hour later, we sat in the meeting room waiting for the Alpha who came in late.
"Sorry that I came late," he said and they bowed. "The doctor has arrived."
I was happy about this and I could have gone to support Catherine if not for this meeting that needed my presence.
The meeting wasn't long, it was brief. Jason introduced me to all of them and told them about the date of the next battle which needs my presence.
"They are trying to infuriate this pack," he said.
From what he said, the last time they were attacked and two or three family died. That was a good reason for him taking over many packs so that he could build a stronger force against his enemies.
This made me remember when I escaped to Oak pack. His intention may have been to take over the pack but since they saved and took care of me, he didn't care to take over it.
"I want you all to remember that we are meant to be vigilant," he said.
When the meeting ended, I rushed to Catherine's room to see the doctor, but he had left.
"How is he doing?" I asked when I saw Max asleep.
"He would be under observation for two more days. The doctor said that I should keep giving him this." Catherine said pointing to the concoction she had made.
She asked me about the meeting since her husband didn't attend. I explained everything that was said to her in detail and she nodded.
I let out a sigh of relief and left to my room.
