ALPHA JASON'S MATE - Chapter 50: Chapter 50

Jason POV
The next morning, I woke up with a smile on my face. I had a wonderful dream where Bella and I shared our feelings for each other.
My smile was short-lived as a thought came to my mind.
I once had a dream similar to this when Laura was my girlfriend but what did it lead to?
My gaze fell on Bella who was sound asleep.
"Good morning," she said with a smile on her face and I knew that she was just waking.
I greeted her back and looked away.
Before she could do anything, I got up from the bed and walked to the bathroom. I wasn't concerned about what happened to Laura and myself, but whenever I thought of loving her without knowing if she loved me, I remember my past relationship.
The fact that I was much more older than her made me think so hard. There is every tendency for her to run off with a younger man. She was only staying here because of our mate bond.
"She can't leave here because everyone knows her as the Luna," I thought to myself.
It would be disgraceful for a Luna to escape because she wants to be with another man and I knew that Bella couldn't take it.
I finished taking my bath and walked to the cupboard. I felt a hand wrapped around my waist with her head on my back and I knew that it was Bella.
"Alpha, you smell so nice," she said. "Why haven't I seen you after you had your bath?"
I smiled and her words but tried to move her hand off me but she wouldn't. She tightened her grip on me and kept saying things.
"Is it a new soap?" She asked but I didn't respond.
"Go and take your bath," I said and she nodded.
Before leaving to the bathroom, she told me to wait for her and I nodded. I wasn't going to wait for her.
I hurriedly dressed and walked out of the room before she finished taking her bath.
Along the way, I met Max who asked me why I was in a hurry.
"I have some work to do. Bring my breakfast along with you when you are coming to my office," I said and Max nodded.
I walked to my office and tried as much as possible not to speak with anyone.
Next few minutes, Max walked into my office but he didn't come alone, he came with Bella.
"Alpha, why didn't you obey the Luna?" Bella asked after Max left.
Since we became couples, whenever Bella was looking for a way to make me talk to her, she calls me Alpha not Jason.
I touched my head and told her that I had a lot to do.
"I mean no disturbance," she said. "I just want to eat in the same place as you."
Hearing that, I nodded.
Since her personal Omega is under investigation, she has resorted to disturbing me.
I immediately ate my food then drank some water.
I took out a paper and began to work on it. Bella got up when she was done and took the plate. I fixed my eyes on her as I wanted to growl at her.
Jack was ready to unleash his anger but to my surprise, Bella called someone to take it from her. Only then did she turn to me.
"Remember to investigate," she said.
I smiled knowing that it was the case about the poisoned Omelette.
"Very well," I said.
This was something I couldn't just forget. If I do, it would be taken for granted and everyone who trespass would blame it on someone else.
I picked my phone up and called an investigator. I couldn't do it by myself like I did my last investigation. That was on one of my pack member, Paula, but this includes an outsider, Samantha.
"Investigate the case," I said and the investigator promised to get it done within two days.
"Alright," I said with a sigh.
On my own I was going to do some investigation on the one who brought the omelette to us. Guilty or not, she must be punished.
"Damn it," I shouted.
I couldn't concentrate on the work I had on the desk as what was on my mind was finding the culprit.
Getting up, I looked out of the door and took a quick glance at Bella who was speaking with Catherine.
There was once a time when Bella and Catherine were close but when Samantha came into the picture, it felt like Catherine no longer existed to her.
Oh, why am I thinking of this? Am I happy that Samantha isn't in the picture?
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before returning to my desk.
After solving the works on my desk, it was approaching evening. I wanted to walk out alone, but Bella walked to me.
"Let's go for a walk," she said.
I wanted to ask if she had gone for a walk with Catherine but seeing the look on her face, I walked with her.
It's for the main time and I believe that by then she should be able to decide on how she wants our relationship to be. Maybe, we would be like Max and Catherine or just stay fulfilling our duty to the pack.
"Do you want to say anything?" I asked.
"Let's just walk," she said.
Her voice told me that she was sad but what could be the matter? Did she argue with Catherine? Is she worried about Samantha?
"Let's go to the Samantha," I said and her face lit up.
We went to the house where the captives were called and I requested for Samantha surname but to my surprise she didn't know her surname.
Instead, she called Samantha Salmonella. We all laughed but Samantha responded to the call.
From what I saw, she didn't want to speak to Bella until after the investigation is completed.
I wanted to caution her not to be rude but Bella stopped me.
