Jason POV
It was a new day and I was with Max at his office. He had an office designed for himself, but he hardly stayed there. Most times, he is with me.
I was speaking to him, but when I looked up, I saw that he was engrossed in a game that he was playing.
"Can you listen to me?" I asked and he put away his phone.
I was discussing with him about our favorite Eta, who was to come back the next day. Eta Silas was injured in the last battle that we had and I searched for doctors that could help him heal faster because the pack doctor suggested so.
We decided to send him abroad for treatment, and he informed us when he was better four months ago, but I advised him to spend time with his family.
He was coming back because of the war we would be experiencing soon.
"I pray to the goddess that nothing would happen to Eta Silas," Max said.
Before I could speak, we heard a noise outside, and it seemed like it was a fight. We left the office and went out.
Bella got in front of the people who were fighting immediately to solve it. I wanted to move forward, but Max stopped me, telling me to allow Bella to handle this.
"This would show us how smart our Luna is," Max said.
Although I wasn't sure if she could handle it because she acted like a baby, I decided to let her handle it.
To my surprise, she settled it well like a true Luna.
Everyone left to continue what they were doing and I was about to leave with Max when my gaze met with Bella's. Catherine also had her gaze on Max and Max left me. This left me with no other choice than to walk with Bella.
It was surprising how Bella was silent. I shook my thoughts off and stole a quick glance at Bella. She didn't smile or do anything which felt strange to me.
"Why don't you say anything," I said breaking the silence.
"You never thought that I could manage the situation," she said.
Although it looked strange to me that she noticed, it was the truth.
"Well, I need to see your potential," I said, and she smiled.
I felt uncomfortable discussing this with her so I decided to change the topic.
"By the way, our favorite Eta is coming tomorrow," I said.
I explained to her the reason she hadn't seen him while she was here. While discussing with her, I noticed that she wasn't as gentle as I thought, and she was also stubborn.
"Speaking of tomorrow, would we still get the result of the investigation?" She asked.
I nodded my head smiling. She was worried about her friend but I doubt if Samantha is thinking about her.
Suddenly, I began to wish Samantha would be proven innocent. If that happens, then we would be happy, but if Samantha is found guilty, it may cause some pain to Bella, who chose to trust her.
"Do you have some work to do?" She asked and I nodded.
"I have a few work to do but that would be later," I said.
I couldn't help but think of the reason she was concerned.
Looking at her, I asked if we could go out together.
"No, I am not interested," she said.
Hearing her say that, there was nothing I could do.
We walked into the pack house and I asked where Max was. I walked into his office with Bella and he was speaking with Catherine.
There was a show of respect given to us by the couple when we entered. Bella was about to speak up when she saw this but I stopped her.
"You should allow this," I whispered into her ear and she asked me for my reason.
"If they respect you both indoor and outdoor, people would respect you."
She didn't say anything but huffed.
"Bella! Jason!! Take your seat," Max said.
He informed us about their plan to welcome Eta Silas back.
I was in support of this, but when I looked at Bella, she was lost in thought, and I was sure that she was thinking of Samantha.
"Another thing," I said gaining Catherine and Max's attention. "Whoever of those two who were recognized for the poisoning of the omelet days ago is proved innocent will be given a grand welcome."
Bella shot a glance at me then cleared her throat.
"The guilty one dies," she said.
I was surprised to hear this. Was she ready for the outcome? What would she do if Samantha was the culprit?
Max and Catherine nodded and so did I.
We were surprised when Bella immediately got up and left Max's office. Catherine was about to follow her but I was quick enough to stop her.
"Let her be alone," I said.
Max held my hand and asked me what I thought would be the outcome of the investigation.
"I don't know, however, I think Tina is innocent," I said.
Omega Tina had been in the pack for a very long time, so how should I believe an outsider? I looked at my watch and saw that it was almost time for me to go to my office.
"Alpha!" Someone called while I was walking to my office. It was Drew.
"Yes, what is it?" I asked him.
"I would like to know about Paula," he said.
Before I could respond, Max spoke behind me.
"You should continue your duty," Max said and he ran off.
This made me almost laugh. I gave Max a thumbs-up before going into my office.
To my surprise, my office door was open, and I looked around to see the Criminal, then decided to walk in. I met Bella sleeping. It looked like she wanted to tell me something important.
I watched her beautiful face as she slept and closed the door quietly.
