"You are here," the sleeping beauty suddenly sat up and glared at me.
Ignoring her, I walked to take a seat.
Why was she here? We had concluded the issue about Samantha.
"When did the private investigator say that he would..." She was saying but I stopped her.
"This night or tomorrow morning," I said.
She didn't say anything but only smiled. I knew that she was eager to see the result but I hope she won't be sad later. Anyway, I should forget about this.
"Is that all?" I asked and she shook her head.
She told me all that she knew about a substance called Black Bolt, and I began to think of how she knew that I was curious to know about it.
"Do you know where I can find it?" I asked.
Before replying to me, she sighed and looked down.
"It's been in my pack but now I can't say because Crescent pack is no more," she said.
This made my heart sore.
Every ten years, a Black bolt comes into existence. What if the Black bolt that she found in her pack was also damaged with the pack?
"You can send some people to search the area," she said.
I smiled and wondered how the men would get to know the exact location.
"Let's focus on what we have now," I said.
"Which is?"
I reminded her about the welcoming ceremony we were having the next day. One for our beloved Eta while the other was for someone we don't know; that is Samantha or Tina.
With a smile on her face, she gave me a peck and walked out. I touched the side she kissed and looked at my hand.
"She is young and doesn't know much," I said and picked up a pen.
My heart was flustered and I could only think about Bella. Was it because she kissed me?
Why was I behaving awkwardly?
I concentrated on the paper in my front and tossed away some papers that I felt were useless.
A knock was heard on the door and it was Max. I looked at him and invited him in.
After some minutes, I finally looked at Max who had a smile on his lips.
"Don't you think we should have a meeting to inform the elders about the welcoming ceremony?" Max asked.
Truth be told, it slipped my mind.
Looking at the papers that I had selected, I gave Max the go-ahead to inform them about the impromptu meeting.
"Take care of it," I said and he bowed before going out.
After having the meeting, Max returned to me. I was done revising the paper so he asked that we should go for a walk.
The walk wasn't only for exercise but to see what was happening in the community.
We spoke as we walked. It was a good thing for me to watch people show me some respect. Whenever they were fighting, they stopped immediately when they saw us.
"I can't wait to see the result of the investigation," Max said. "This would make anyone who feels like harming Bella think twice."
I laughed at his words. Did he say think twice?
"You can't stay under the sun for long," I reminded him.
After walking some distance, we turned back and walked to the pack house.
I didn't enter with him because I had something to do. I needed to speak to Tina and Samantha again but I didn't know why I felt pushed to meet them.
After seeing Max walk away, I went my way.
In the house, I asked from Samantha to say the truth. She held onto my hand.
"I can't do anything like that to Bella," she said.
The act of holding my hand irritated me. Why would she do that?
Does she think I am a flirt?
Taking my hands from her, I smiled then walked to Tina who pleaded with me.
"Now, I am more confused," I said thinking of the reason I came here.
I walked back to the pack house and stopped when I noticed something wrong but it was getting darker.
Ignoring it, I walked to the pack house.
Getting into the house, I put a call across to the private investigator who promised that I would get the result early in the morning.
There was no need for me to deliberate on who it was Tina, Samantha or whoever did it would be hanged to death. That's how I wanted.
I had a strong reason to suspect Samantha but still I wasn't sure if she was the one.
After eating, I walked straight to my room but was stopped by Bella.
"You've been away for a long time. Won't you like to hear what happened when you were out with Max?" She asked.
I turned around and held her hand. We walked to the living room and sat beside Max and Catherine.
Catherine began to explain all that happened when we were out. Bella stole the opportunity to rest her head on my shoulder.
After speaking for some minutes, Catherine looked at Bella who wore a smile.
"Before I speak, I would like to ask about the investigation report,"
I smiled and told her that we would get it early in the morning.
"Since you trust him, it's ok by me," Bella said.
She cleared her throat and sat down straight then called an Omega.
It was late so I didn't expect any of the Omega to be nearby but maybe Bella told this one to wait.
The Omega avoided my face and apologized for what she has done. I wish it was about the case at hand but it wasn't. She tore some materials.
"You may leave," I said.
Minutes later, I walked into my room with Bella who switched to her baby behavior.
"I just showed that I can be a good Luna, but you didn't appreciate," she complained.
I held her slender waist, kissed her cheek then went to bed.
