Bella POV
Since Jason left, I had been alone. I only communicated with Catherine and Samantha when I felt the need to.
I'm either at the office or cabin.
"You should find time to rest," Max always told me but I didn't listen.
This day, I chose to go out alone to see what was happening and told Catherine.
"You can't go out alone," Catherine said.
"Jason can so I can," I said to her. "I am a female representative of Jason."
Catherine wanted to argue with me about it but I shook my head. There was no need for me to argue with her, I wanted to be alone.
She suggested that Samantha should walk with me, but I refused, saying that Samantha looked tired.
"Then I would tell someone to trail your movement," she said.
I shook my head but she didn't reply. I knew that she would give in to my demand soon.
It was a morning, not late afternoon so I guess she was scared that something was going to happen.
After changing my clothes, I walked out just to feel happy. I felt someone was following me, so I looked back, but there was no one. I took a sigh and walked faster.
However, the pack looked calm, and I smiled, knowing that it was still morning.
"There would be no danger on my path," I said.
Two men approached and walked to me making me move back.
"Luna, we have some crisis," They said.
Their faces looked familiar but they weren't part of the pack. I nodded my head and followed them.
After a few minutes, we reached a house, and I wondered why they were pointing inside the house.
"You can bring her out," I said as Mattie wasn't in support of me going inside.
The men wanted to push me in and now I regretted following them. I didn't move a foot and just watched the men try.
"You should get on your knees," we hear.
The two men got down on their knees and I turned around to see the faces of those who spoke.
They were from the pack house and I guess Catherine went ahead to tell people to walk with me.
"Now tell me why you were forcing the Luna?" Philip asked.
"We were paid to kidnap her," they said.
From what they said, they were paid to kidnap me by the pack who we gained victory against. I think they knew about my power or maybe the little way they saw me perform made them want to capture me.
"Oh, that's their plan," I said.
The men who followed me were waiting for my order. I gave a little smile knowing that my words were authority.
"You should take them to the pack house for discipline," I said and walked straight.
The men took a bow and seized the two men. I had no interest in walking around the Pack again so I walked towards the pack house.
When we got to the pack house, I turned to Philip and told him to take the two men to the field, take off their tops, and whip them.
"We are sorry, Luna," the men pleaded but I left.
Catherine got up immediately and walked to me. She began to check my body for injuries.
"Lucas told me what happened," she said.
I turned to look at Lucas. That was so fast. Lucas's head was bowed as a sign of respect.
I turned my gaze to Catherine and told her that I hadn't sustained any injury. I walked to the Alpha's office and took out a file that caught my attention. There was a need for me to study it.
Max walked in and bowed to me. This was strange to me, and I wanted to stop him, but remembering what Jason told me some days ago, I let him be.
"There would be a meeting," he said.
A meeting?
I didn't see it in today's agenda.
"It's an impromptu meeting. I forgot to inform you this morning," he said.
I asked for the time of the meeting and chose to plan my time well.
"However, you may not have come across any of them," he said.
My eyes, which were glued to the file I was reading, suddenly shut up. What does he mean by that? Aren't they our pack members?
"What pack are they from?" I asked.
"They are not from any pack. They are humans,"
"Hmmm," I nodded my head. "What do they want?"
"They told me that they would only discuss it when they see either our Alpha or our Luna,"
"Alright, you may leave,"
I placed the file that I was holding back on the desk and could not help but think of what these humans wanted.
"I think I need some moral support," I said and drank some water.
I laughed at my words. It could be that those humans came to explore our pack. Maybe to know more about the werewolf life.
With that thought, I was able to calm my nerves. The meeting was going to be in an hour, but I had no plan, so I fidgeted.
An idea crossed my mind and I pressed the office phone.
Max picked it and I told him that we would have the meeting with few people present. Since it was my first time meeting them, it would be better if I played save.
Taking a deep breath, I waved off my worry and continued studying. A thought came to my mind and I smiled. Being dutiful when the Alpha isn't around is more stressful. I spent most of the day thinking of how well he is.
My gaze went to the time, and I thought of what could happen in the meeting that would take place in less than an hour.
"What would Jason do?" I asked myself, closed my eyes as I was becoming more nervous.
I opened my eyes and prayed to the goddess to lead me. These people weren't werewolves like us.
