Bella POV
"What are you doing here?" Jason asked making me frown.
Wasn't I the one doing his work all this while?
As his mate, don't I have access to some things?
"I came to continue what I was doing," I said.
It felt like my words fell off strange. Jason wore a smile and then invited me in. I got in, took my seat, and stared at Jason.
When I was about to speak, Jason stretched a book that he saw open on his desk.
"It's good to know that you want to learn more about the pack," Jason said. "It's good, but if you were born a pack member, you would know the rules, history, and our ways of life."
I nodded and looked at him. He said the truth, all part members are born with the rules of the pack. I knew the rules of the Crescent pack, but since it was no longer my pack and no longer in existence, I had to leave the rules of this pack. Moreso as their Luna.
I looked at Jason with a smile on my face and continued reading the book that was with me.
"Are you hungry?" Jason asked minutes later when I yawned and I shook my head.
However, he picked up his office phone and dialed a number.
"Get some meal for Luna."
I shook my head when he dropped the phone.
Why did he make that call?
I touched my grumbling stomach and smiled. How did he know that I was hungry?
Soon Catherine came in with a tray containing two small bowls and two bottles of water.
"Why did you bring two?" Jason, who was typing asked.
"You need to take a break," Catherine said and placed a bowl on his desk.
She put away the laptop in front of him and told him to take the soup and some meat. After that, she left but not without warning me not to allow him to work unless he finished his soup and meats. I nodded and couldn't help but laugh.
A few minutes later, we were done and drew some water.
Putting the plate and bottle away, Jason drew his laptop close to himself.
Won't he take a rest? At least feel relieved from what he ate.
I got up to my feet and walked to him. Watching his eyes on the book that he was copying from, I pulled the laptop away.
"What this?" He asked.
His tone wasn't harsh. I blinked and told him to rest a bit before working.
"You are like Catherine," he said.
"Yes, it's best been like my elder sister," I said.
Immediately I said that word, Jason laughed. At that moment, I was waiting for the moment that he would tell me the three words that I wanted to hear. Mattie kept assuring me that he would tell me that but she didn't say when he would.
I wanted to ask him to tell me so, but won't I sound desperate if I do that? It's better if he tells me on his own, but when would he?
There was a wanting in my heart. I wanted him to say that he loves me, not only show his love.
"Can I work now?" He asked.
Only then did I realize that time had gone, but yet I was lost in my thoughts.
I walked to sit afar off and watched him keep typing.
Noticing someone passing by, I stopped her and gave her the tray. To my surprise, it was Samantha.
"Why are you giggling?" Jason asked.
I turned to look at him with a frown on my face. He was busy typing, but how did he find time to look at me?
After Samantha left, he advised that I closed the door which I did.
"Do you have anything to tell me?" I asked after staying idle for too long.
"Yes... Hold on... Wait,"
I looked at the back of the laptop and smiled. In actual fact, I was smiling at the face in front of the laptop.
'oh my. I hope he would just tell me those three words. Why would he tell me to wait for him if he isn't going to tell me that?'
Soon I saw him shut the laptop close. My heart beat raced as I anticipated those words but to my shock, he pulled me into his arms.
"Let's go to the room,"
I felt like tearing up in this place, but I gave myself hope that he was going to tell me that when we got to the room.
A word kept ringing in my head as I walked with him and a smile crossed my lip as I looked at the tall and handsome young man beside me.
"Keep it low and stop staring at me like that," Jason said.
After getting to the room, I sat on the bed as I saw Jason searching the cupboard.
'oh goddess, let him see what he is looking for early and tell me that he loves me ' I prayed silently.
Jason found what he was looking for and sat on the bed. I tried to show that I cared that he found it, but deep down, I cared about nothing else than listening to his confession.
I moved close to him and placed my head on his shoulder.
"I am happy that you found what you were looking for," I said and he patted my hair.
Putting me away from his shoulder, he got up and made a call on his phone leaving me sad. I was extremely sad with the way he behaved, but I still tried to maintain my coolness.
Who knows what I might do tomorrow if what I want isn't done today? Would I be able to attend such a ceremony?
"Do not worry. Jack and I are sure that he would tell you those three words," Mattie said.
"When will that be?" I asked but she didn't reply.
That was a thing I was running away from.
Why would Mattie tell me this when she isn't sure?
