                    Bella POV
Jason dropped me and went to open the door. It was Catherine and she came with a plate.
After telling Jason that I refused to eat, she left.
"Come here," Jason said sitting on the couch.
He began to feed me and I could not help but smile looking at his adorable face.
How would an office romance look like?
I allowed him to feed me until I was full, then watched as he returned to what he was doing. I gritted my teeth when I remembered how that knock from Catherine ruined our moment.
A thought crossed my mind but I shook my head. How unnecessary would it be if I walked to him just to request that he kiss me?
"We would be having a visitor," he said. "They would like to see our Luna."
"Are they our pack member?" I asked and he shook his head.
He promised that none of them would bring camera and this made me to smile as I remembered when the humans came here months ago.
"I need to see Jeff," I said getting up.
Jason gave me time to be back just before the guests arrived.
After checking on Jeff, I came back to Jason and noticed that something was wrong with him.
"What is wrong with you, Jason?" I asked but he waved it off.
I couldn't just stand there without doing anything.
After observing him for some moments, I walked out to call Max. If his thoughts were still about the meeting, it would be best if he postponed it.
Max came in and looked at him. I saw Max's face; it darkened as he touched Jason's neck.
"What is it?" Jason asked.
"I think you were poisoned," he said.
My mouth flew agape and I spoke to Mattie.
"Do you have any idea of who could have poisoned him?" I asked.
Mattie didn't know and this made me restless. How would someone want to harm Jason?
I saw Jason look at me like he still wanted to attend the meeting but was the meeting more important than his health?
Max raised him and held one side of his while I held another side. Together, we walked out of his office. Everyone had their gazes at us as we walked Jason, who had already been weak, to the room.
Max asked for me to get an icepack, which I did, and then we tied it around his neck.
"Cancel all meetings that he may have," I said to Max who looked at me like I was doing something wrong.
I knew that it would be a meeting that could be done without the Alpha's presence, but getting to see the eagerness in Jason's heart when he told me it meant that he wanted to be there.
"Cancel them!" I said like it was an order.
After he left, Catherine walked in and I knew that she was called in by her husband. She immediately called the pack doctor who arrived minutes later.
"It's so good that you applied block to his head," he said.
I waited for Max to come back before walking out. Although Catherine tried to stop me but I walked away. I had a leading to the kitchen.
Someone may have added a poisonous substance to his food, but why?
Getting to the kitchen, I looked around and could remember when Paula was still alive and living in the pack.
Seeing that I was there, a lady's eyes fell to the ground and I suspected that she was the one who poisoned his food.
But I couldn't be sure, so I asked in a loud voice, "Whoever poisoned Alpha Jason should speak up."
The lady whose gaze was on the floor fell with a big thud.
"Luna, I am very sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going when it poured," she pleaded.
I was about to say something when someone held me from the back. It was Catherine.
After a few minutes, we went back to the room, where I saw the doctor get up.
"He would be alright in the evening. Don't let him undergo any straining task today," he said and was about to walk away when I moved close to him.
"Any advice for me?"
He sighed and then looked into my face.
"Luna, you should monitor whatever the Alpha eats," he said. "The job of serving both you and your mate should be done by your trusted individual."
As soon as he made an end to his statement, he left.
"Bella!" Jason called as I was about to walk Max and Catherine out.
Catherine touched my cheek and told me to meet him. I slowly walked to Jason and sat on the bed. I looked at the color of the room. I had never thought of changing its color.
I was looking at the wall that I didn't know when Jason placed his head on my lap.
Noticing a heavy thing on my lap made me look down, and I smiled when I saw it was his head.
I would have said that we should continue what we were doing in his office before Catherine brought in my food, but since the doctor said that he shouldn't do anything straining, I couldn't allow him to do that.
The day was getting darker and I could see sweat draining Jason's body. This was a cause for alarm. I called Catherine to tell her and she laughed.
"He has to sweat out the poison then take a bath,"
She advised me not to allow the sweat to touch my body.
After sweating for fifteen minutes, he walked to the bathroom. I was relieved when I saw him get up so I left the room.
We ate together and when we were done, we spoke with Max and Catherine for some while before going to our room.
In the room, we didn't immediately sleep but spoke to each other about how the next day would be, but within me, I felt that Jason was hiding something from me.
