Bella POV
Waking to see the light in the room, I looked at my side. The room was decorated, and I knew that someone had stolen my idea of beautifying the room, but how could it be Jason? He might have asked Catherine to do this while I was asleep.
That means he went to wake her. Does he consider her his maid?
While I was thinking Jason walked out of the bathroom. There were some colors on his hand, but he had his clothes on.
"Good morning," he greeted me and gave me a peck on my cheek.
I didn't say a word to him so he bent to me and touched my hair.
"What's wrong?"
I pointed to all the decorations and asked for the person who did it.
"I did it to celebrate this new year," he said.
My eyes brightened as I remembered that today was the beginning of the English New Year, but soon, I wore back my expression.
"Who did this for you?" I asked seeing that he had a smile on his face.
"I did it," he said. "Just to celebrate the English New Year with you."
I grinned on seeing that he was saying the truth.
"Alpha Jason is so romantic," I said.
His gaze was on me and I could feel love emanating from his body. I thought of closing my eyes and waiting for a kiss but thought against it.
What if after closing my eyes for long, I don't get kissed? That is what Jason could do.
"What would you like to do?" Jason asked and I shook my head.
I wanted him to either kiss or tickle me but I guess he isn't going to do that. His smile was captivating, but I wanted him to guess what I wanted.
"Alright, since you want nothing, I would say nothing,"
I felt sad hearing this from him, but all that mattered to me was his love.
"We would be going out this evening," he said. "Since it's a new year, everyone needs to stay at home during the day. They should take care of their family and then come out in the evening."
I smiled upon hearing these words. It's so nice of him to be considerate.
"And the Omegas?" I asked.
"They can all celebrate with us. Those who have their families can be with them but those who are single would stay here but they won't do much work,"
I smiled when I heard this. It made no sense to me. Is it because their rank is the lowest in the pack?
This made me remember the day I escaped Manuel's house with Samantha. He looked down on her because she was an Omega.
"Don't get me wrong," he said. "I have changed a lot about them but we have elders."
I nodded, realizing that the decisions of the pack couldn't only be made by him, but he needed to meet with others.
"That's right," I said to him.
We got up from the bed and as I was about to move, he held me to the wall.
"I know what you want," he said.
I blushed as he brought his lips close to my mouth and closed my eyes, but he only gave me a peck.
At least, it was better than nothing.
Immediately we opened the door, something fell on us. Jason acted surprised so I knew that it wasn't done by him.
Next, Max and Catherine walked out of their hiding spot. They were smiling so I knew that they did this.
"Happy New Year!" Catherine shouted.
She hugged me and gave Jason a side hug. Max exchanged a handshake with me and Jason.
"Be happy," Catherine said with a tap on my cheek.
I had myself cleaned up very early before going back to bed but then I never saw any decorations. My heart fluttered as Jason held my hand.
We were led to the breakfast table then I saw Samantha walk in. She bowed both to me and Jason and this made me amazed
Our breakfast was served. It was a special meal.
I smiled at Catherine who was seated next to Max. We ate till we were filled then chatted happily. It was one of the days that the Alpha would feel relaxed, but I didn't know if it was also the same thing here. This is my first new year in the Dark pilot pack and as a Luna.
We got up from the breakfast table and walked to the living room. Jason spoke with Max at a side while I spoke with Catherine.
Catherine and I chatted a lot and laughed at the same time. I couldn't help to remove my focus from Jason. What were they discussing about? From their posture, it felt like they were having a serious conversation.
"Is anything wrong?" Catherine asked and followed the direction of my eyes.
"Why are they so serious?" I asked.
Catherine only smiled and looked away. I could feel that she also wanted a time like I wanted. Why would they be in a serious conversation this day?
The men got up and walked to us. We left with our mates and I wanted to ask Jason why they were serious.
"Forget it. They have their own rules," I told myself.
In the room, Jason kept his gaze on me like I was running somewhere that was away from him.
"I can't wait for the evening time," he said.
I remembered what I read years ago.
"What do you do in the afternoon on New Year?" I asked.
"We pray to the goddess and ask her for protection,"
I nodded at his response and told him that it was another thing that interested me about the new year.
"I also love it because we commit the year to the goddess and I ask for divine grace to rule this pack," he paused. "She always leads me to my mate."
A smile curled up my lips as I knew the goddess wanted me to meet him in an undesirable way.
