                    Bella POV
Weeks passed and we were still experiencing the death. It was always in the morning and evening.
From the first day it happened, I had isolated myself from everyone. I stayed alone in a room. The only time I came out was early in the morning when I would see corpses lying outside and in the evening.
I avoided meeting Jason's gaze. After I see the corpses, I go to eat a little.
My weight has been lost due to this. I wanted to communicate with the goddess. I wanted to know what action to take and now I knew.
"Oh goddess, grant me the grace," I said getting up this morning.
After taking my bath, I walked out as usual and Catherine was the first that I encountered.
"You aren't yourself. Alpha Jason hasn't..." She was saying but I raised a hand.
"Tell him that I am ready to see his face,"
I opened the door and saw people gathered. They were looking at the dead body that was on the floor. I walked to it and knelt.
Tears fell from my eyes and I touched the body. Everyone was shocked by this. It was still early, and I knew that the pack had a rule against touching a dead thing when the day wasn't clear.
"Bella!" I heard Jason call and the people stood at a point.
I knew it wasn't proper for the Alpha to call the Luna by her name beside the pack members and he shouted my name because I did something that was against the pack rules.
After getting up, I ordered that the body should be buried. Jason, who was held by Max was shaking.
"You should serve my meal. I am going to devour it all,"
They were all stunned by my attitude but none of them dared to say a word.
I ate and regained some strength then went to sit on a couch. My eyes were closed, and tears dropped from my eyes as I remembered that dream.
I discarded the dream when I dreamt of it as a little girl, but now it was happening.
"Bella!" Catherine called.
"I should never be your Luna. I couldn't prevent the death... Don't make me selfish... I need to do something tonight..." I kept mumbling some words.
Catherine shook me many times but I didn't stop. It was only when I felt Jason's body that I felt at peace. I missed this body.
Jason got up and was about to take me to the room but I shook my head. I can't go to the room yet.
"Not yet," I said.
"Is this new year a sad season for us?" I heard someone say.
I felt my mother passing and called her.
"It's risky. You shouldn't do it, Bella," Mother tried to coerce me in a room.
I was discussing with her about sacrificing myself for the pack, and all she kept telling me was that it was risky.
"What if it doesn't work but you lose your life in the process?"
There are dark times that everyone needs to pass through.
"Do you know the cause of this?" I asked and she shook her head.
I didn't have to voice it out to anyone, but I knew that it was indeed risky.
Minutes later, I walked out with Mother and tried to lighten everyone's mood. Jason had returned to his office but I knew that he was doing nothing. I was going to give him a hint of what I would do tonight.
His eyes shut up immediately I entered the office. I walked to him and asked for the reason he had canceled all his meetings.
"Why won't I?" He asked.
"Scared of ghosts?"
With a smile on his face, he allowed me to sit on his lap and kissed me. This was what I wanted. It could be our last kiss in this world.
"You may not see me anymore after today," I mustered the courage to say.
"I would see you all the days of my life," he said. "I don't know the reason you said this but I am confident to say that I would spend the days of my life with you."
I smiled as I looked up to heaven. I didn't know what would happen to me, but I needed to be careful.
After getting out of the office, I met Samantha along the way and smiled. I did a good deed by becoming a friend to her. Life is short.
I picked up a book to read but couldn't focus on it. There was no other choice for me than to go to Jeff.
After playing with him for some minutes, I couldn't help the tears that rolled from my eyes. What if something like this happens to Jeff when he grows up?
"Maybe it's our fate to die before seeing a new dawn," I said thinking of Crescent pack.
My phone rang and I saw that it was Jason. I contemplated on answering the call. My heart was heavy and if I do hear Jason's voice, I may be selfish.
After four missed calls, I got up and left the room. I encountered Jason when leaving the room and smiled when I remembered my first day in the pack.
Why did the goddess allow him to love me if I would need to sacrifice myself?
I thought of something and smiled. I would write a letter to them before I go.
"You aren't feeling well," he said and I hugged him.
"Don't worry about me. You should worry about the pack and its people. I would be fine," I bowed and walked away.
From behind, he grabbed my hand and this made me remember our old days.
"Remember your role and I will remember mine,"
With that, he left.
"I hope we come back from this mission," Mattie said and I sighed deeply.
I couldn't assure her of anything so I just mentally patted her.
