Bella POV
Mattie had always tried to fight for us but I always pushed her aside and allowed them maltreat me because of what they called me. I knew that she left me all those while until I accept her.
We have been bruised in many ways trying to keep calm but the revelation I had when I fainted gave me hope and I felt more strengthened.
"To say the truth, I don't like our mate," Mattie said and I smiled saying the same. "Anyway Jack, his wolf wants us and that is the reason he brought us here."
I thought on this for some while then told Mattie that we could do without him but she refused and told me that he is the one required to complete us.
"That may be true but we can't hope for more and then regret." I said making her sigh.
I told her that I love her and want the best for us.
It was a new day so after communicating with my wolf, I walked to the bathroom. When I was done, I got changed into one of the clothes I brought along with me.
My stomach grumbled and I knew that I was hungry but I didn't want to go to the kitchen again. I didn't want to face what happened yesterday. Thankfully, the door flew open and Catherine walked in with a tray in her hand.
"I brought you breakfast and I guess you are hungry," she said walking to me.
"Thank you," I said and pouted my lips making her laugh.
She called me a child but I refused and told her that I am an adult.
"How old are you?" She asked.
"I am eighteen years old," I said and she laughed.
"You are still a child," she said. This prompted me to ask for her age and she told me that she was twenty six years old.
I laughed a bit and told her not to lie. Her body structure tells that she is young.
"Oh, my body looks young but I am not too young," I said.
She urged me to eat. While I was eating, we discussed about things. I was open to her in all that I said but left out the part of all the negative things that happened to me in my pack. It would be better if no one knows.
I knew that one day I would need to tell them about my struggles there but not today.
After my breakfast, Catherine took the tray out and we went out to explore the pack. People looked at me but I knew the reason for their look was that I was a new face there.
Some hours later, we brought ourselves some ice cream and went to find a place to sit. While enjoying the ice cream, my eyes caught a glimpse of someone. Shock was evident in my face and I didn't know when the ice cream fell from my hand.
"What is it?" Catherine asked me but I didn't respond.
She shook me again and I looked at her recovering myself. When I looked back, I didn't see the person anymore.
I looked at Catherine and shook my head telling her that nothing happened.
Again, I looked at the direction I saw the person and he was there. He smiled at me then waved to me.
"What are you looking at?" Catherine asked shaking me and I shook my head. "Alright, let's go back."
Nodding, I got up and followed her. My mind was filled with the person I saw. How did he locate me? I hope he won't let anyone know about my whereabouts. No one in that pack should know that I am here.
Entering the pack house, I felt like running into the room.
There were some men discussing with Paula, the lady who fought with me in the kitchen. It looked like they were giving some romantic gesture. Getting close to them, they turned their attention to me and I moved back fearfully when I saw their faces.
"Bella," Abel, Mr. Scott's son moved close to me. "We've missed you."
He gave a friendly deceiving smile.
I stood still watching him. Quiet believable and unbelievable. He walked close to me and patted my cheek, and slightly bent and whispered into my ear, "You are good as dead."
His words made me flinch back and I stared at him. My wolf however urged me to be strong. She wanted me to fight back but I wasn't ready.
A voice echoed from behind, "Who are you and what do you want?"
Abel acted arrogantly to the person. His words made me shocked and I looked around. The people who were around us also showed their shocked expression.
Maybe if the alpha was here, he would be able to deal with this crazy boy who just acted arrogantly to a pack member.
With an increasing pace, Jason appeared in front of Abel and held him up.
"Who do you think you are talking to?" He asked with a grin on his face.
Abel's face widened as he looked at Jason who lifted him from the ground. There was no sense of emotion in his eyes and I knew that it could cause a disaster.
"Don't hurt each other. Just let go," I pleaded.
Jason didn't listen to me so I was engulfed with anger and pushed them. This was a shock to me and I opened my hand to see what power I possessed. All I could see was a glow coming from my hand.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to calm my nerves. This action could land me in trouble if the Alpha gets to know. I began to fidget. What did I just do?
Everyone stared at me in disbelieve when I opened my eyes. I felt prompted to reach out to Jason. Maybe it's because of the mate bond. I raised his head with one of my hand and looked at his face.
