Jason POV
"Wolves like that would want other people to think they are humans. No one would suspect when they would strike," Bella said, laughing.
I patted her cheek and told her to get ready because we would be going out soon.
An hour later, we walked to the car, and I sped off. I stopped the car when we encountered a cop. Looking at the road, I saw that it was a body that was by the side.
"We advise that you wait a bit," the cop said. "We are clearing the road."
Bella's eyes grew serious and she pointed to the body.
"Killed by one of us," she mouthed.
I also looked at the body and could sense it. I remembered what Bella said before we started this journey, Wolves like that would want other people to think they are humans. No one would suspect when they would strike. Can it be that it's that man, or are there many others that exist here?
We waited for almost an hour and the road was cleared. We were allowed to pass.
Getting to a hillside, I stopped the car and walked with Bella to the hill. We climbed it and looked around. It was a beautiful scenery.
Minutes later, we sat on the floor and began to talk. While discussing, we heard a wolf sound which made us laugh.
After watching the sky from that angle for a moment, we walked back to the car. It was already getting dark, so I knew that we couldn't go elsewhere apart from either a canteen or a restaurant to have our dinner.
"Should we try a new restaurant?" I asked, and placed a peck on Bella's arm.
She blushed and told me to choose. I thought for a while and then decided that we should go to a not famous restaurant. Famous ones always had too many customers.
We walked into a restaurant, and immediately we sat down, some faces turned to us.
"CEO Jason," They called.
I smiled seeing that they were people from my company.
None of them dared to ask me why I was here.
"What is happening here?" Bella asked, and I tapped her cheek instead of replying to her question.
Our order was taken, and we ate to our fullest. I paid for the food and left with Bella. I didn't spare a glance at my workers.
The following morning, I woke up to see Bella still asleep on the bed. I touched her hand and discovered that she was a bit feverish.
"Bella!" I called.
"Don't worry about me, I heal quickly."
"Remember that we are not in our pack," I said.
Without a word, she wrapped her hand around my waist and continued sleeping. This action made me smile but I couldn't do anything than tap her hair.
When she woke up, her fever had already gone. I got up from the bed and then went to bathe.
"I'm late," she said rushing to take her bath after me.
I smiled seeing that she rushed.
Done bathing, she came out using the cloth that she wore inside to cover her nakedness. She didn't remember to take her towel and this made me smile.
I passed the towel to her and then left the room. I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable.
When she was done, we sat down to eat a little fish before going out. I dropped Bella, but didn't leave without advising her.
"Alright, I will see you later," she said and walked into the building.
No longer seeing her, I left for my company.
A case of fraud was brought to me. I knew that they all feared me, and didn't understand why someone would do this after knowing how I am.
I knew the person who committed such fraudulent activity but I wasn't going to say his name. They shouldn't know about my ability.
"Whoever did this should submit the amount by tomorrow morning, and also come with his resignation letter,"
The people all bowed their heads.
After dismissing them, I walked into the CEO's office. I felt the atmosphere become strange. It felt like something was happening in the pack.
"What can be happening over there?" I asked myself.
I felt the urge to call Max, but I knew that he could handle it by himself. I couldn't resist the urge so I called him.
After four rings, he didn't answer so I called Catherine.
After three rings, Catherine answered the call. There was no sign of abnormality in her voice so I asked for what was happening.
"I felt strange, what is it?" I asked.
"We are fine. It's just a minor issue,"
"Minor?" I asked.
Catherine sniffled before telling me that Max had gone out with some Gamma to fight some rogue.
"Alright, I would pray for him here,"
If it was that, then maybe the goddess wants me to pray for them.
"Alright, thank you, Alpha," she said and I ended the call.
I knew that someone was eavesdropping on me. It was the man who committed such fraudulent activity.
Before he could move away, I opened the door and caught him. I dragged him with me to the gathering room and told everyone to gather.
"He was spying on me," I said, and they shouted, then I chose to go to the fraud that was committed. "I also suspect that he did such."
I dropped him on his knees and warned him that if he did it, he should do as I said unless I would be handing him to the cops. He shook.
I knew the reason he did that, but still, he could have let me know.
After humiliating him, I left. I didn't care if he felt sad about this. None of my workers had the ability to do that, and for a man like him to do that, and then spy on me, it's irritable.
I scoffed, pulled on my suit, and walked to my office.
I buried myself in looking into the submitted documents.
