                    His eyes widened with shock.
“What? H_how?” He stammered.
I released a sigh. “Well, unless you want me to start talking here, I will require some privacy,” I regarded him for a moment, his expression and the way he was slowly studying me. “I will answer all your questions.”
A man moved closer to him. “What do you mean you are not Gwen? Is this a joke?”
“She's not, Jude. The colour of the hair is different,” Rowan whispered to the man's ears, but I heard clearly.
He cleared his throat meaningfully. “Let's discuss this inside,” he said finally.
I knew he was not going to be able to refuse me. He would certainly be very curious just seeing me. I was in fact curious as well when I saw Gwen's picture the first time.
Rowan stepped inside first, and the other man gestured for me to follow him before he walked behind me. I suspect he is the beta. There's a closeness between him and Rowan.
I walked inside, and Rowan turned to look at me.
“Tell me, you have been the one acting like Gwen all this while.”
I nodded once. “I have. My name is Autumn.”
“But that's not possible. How can someone look so much alike?” Jude commented.
“Yes!” Rowan chimed in. “How did you guys look so much alike? Who are you?”
I shrugged briefly. “I have no idea, but I'm from the Moon like Pack. I was brought here by the King's beta after my pack was accused of kidnapping your cousin,” I explained.
“So, you kidnapped her?” Jude said between clenched teeth.
I regarded him for a moment. “Why will I kidnap your cousin?”
Rowan nodded once. “It doesn't make sense all right. But then Gwen is back. Xavier said she was found recently. What happened?”
I released a sigh. “A pawn.”
“What?” Rowan and Jude said at the same time.
“Your cousin was just a pawn in this play. And Alpha Xavier is as innocent as I am. He kept me hostage, however, so I would provide Gwen. He even killed some of my people, but then, he's innocent. He was desperately worried to get Gwen back, and he has done unforgivable things just because of that,” I explained.
Rowan scoffed. “So, you are here to plead on his behalf? You must be joking if you think I will believe a word that comes out of your mouth!”
“Yes! We should take her to King Xavier. He will explain what all this is all about,” Jude suggested.
I released a sigh. Rowan wasn't at all calm. He was the same as Xavier. If he were ever in the same position, I bet he would do more.
“I've taken someone, and he confessed to kidnapping Gwen.”
Rowan’s eyes brightened suddenly. “What? Really?”
I nodded slowly.
“Who is he?”
“He's the son of one of the Alphas. Like I said, your sister was just a pawn in this game. They wanted to use her to get the King, and they succeeded.”
Rowan hesitated, as if thinking about it. “Why should we believe you?”
“You don't have to. You can hear it from the horse's mouth. Then you can know that Xavier was used as well, and now, it has driven him to his death. Follow me, and I will take you to where he is,” I finished, and I didn't wait for them to reply before I stepped out of the room.
They eventually walked out of the room as well, and I led them to the cell. I stopped in front of Cell 4 and looked at unconscious Lucas.
“That's him.”
Rowan regarded him for a moment. “Is he dead?”
“No. I had to leave him alive so you can do whatever you want with him.”
Jude scoffed suddenly. “I don't believe any of these! For all we know, Alpha. This girl could be lying.”
I knew he was going to say that, though. Xavier hadn't believed me the first time we met, even when I sincerely explained everything to him. So, I don't even expect Rowan or his men to believe me.
I looked at one of the men. “Get me a bucket of water.”
The man rushed out to retrieve what I had asked. He returned not long after with my request.
I took it from him and unlocked the cell.
“What is she doing?” I hear Jude ask as I entered the cell and poured the content of the bucket on Lucas.
Lucas stirred and sat up. He regarded me for a moment before he looked at Rowan.
“Rowan?”
“He recognised you,” Jude mused.
I sighed and stepped out of the prison again. I locked the door before I gave the bucket back to the guard.
Rowan moved closer now. “Did you really kidnap Gwen?”
Lucas stared but didn't say anything.
“You had better start talking before you get me upset,” I warned from where I was.
Lucas looked at me for a moment. “I kidnapped the bitch. She had a lot to learn.”
A flash of anger flickered across Rowan’s face. “What! How dare you?”
“Your sister was being a bitch. She was my mate. She had no right to be mated to Xavier. I just couldn't overlook it.”
“Wait a second, you kidnapped Gwen because she got mated to your Alpha?”
Lucas scoffed. “Thoughtful of you to say. Well, mind you, Gwen was a total bitch. I mean she wasn't only having Xavier alone. She had four other men she had sex with.”
“How dare you!” Rowan yelled suddenly. He lurched forward and gripped the bars as if to tear them apart. “If you tell one more lie, I will make you regret the day you were born!” He threatened.
Lucas stood up slowly. “Why should I lie about her? It was just a pity that the Alpha thought he owned her alone. That boy was very faithful, well, until Autumn came along,” he glanced at me. “Well, and then he couldn't deny the sweet pussy.”
I looked away as I tried hard to keep myself calm.
“You should have trained your cousin so she wouldn't be so disrespectful!” He yelled. “She deserves whatever has come her way, and I hope she died like that!”
By now, Rowan wasn't even able to control the anger anymore. He looked at Jude.
“Get this thing open. I need to kill this son of a bitch.”
I stepped in front of the door and shook my head. “I believe you should calm down and wait. Don't rush to kill him.”
“Oh, now you beg on my behalf,” Lucas said suddenly. He moved over to my side. “Well, I must say you have luck on your side.”
I turned to look at him. “Shut it!” I snapped.
He started to laugh. It went on for a few seconds, but then he sobered up again. “Now, you can talk,” he muttered in a deep tone. “If you had died that morning, it would have made the work easier for me.”
I gathered my brows amazingly. “What do you mean? What morning?”
Lucas held my gaze. “The night I rescued you and you fainted. That morning, I gave you a herb. Well, it wasn't a herb. It was poison. It was the same poison that I have always fed Gwen with.”
“What! You poisoned Gwen?” Rowan yelled from somewhere around me.
I was still looking at Jude as I tried to understand what he meant. As realisation hit me, my eyes widened with shock.
“You gave me the witch poison?”
He smiled again. “Yes.”
What the heck!
